A TRUE QUEEN Murphy + Cargo Bunks!! 2022 Surveyor 240BHLE 

Sink covers double as cutting boards, one small, one big. We love our 240BHLE. So many smart features, and yes, it feels super homey to us as well!

I would nix the TV and add an extra cabinet in its place. I would add access doors to the dinette seat storage, maybe go so far as pull out drawers IN ADDITION to the lift up seat access. I would add a window to the entry door. Make windows operable on both bunks. Have an option for a 3-way 120v, 12v, propane refrigerator. Add the few inches to make the bed usable in travel configuration.

I have one of these and love it. Put a window in the door. The efficiency of this design is awesome. The bed is comfortable. The dinette is great, big, windows storage. The Murphy sofa is nice with big views after adding door window. The AC works great; used in desert. Upgraded fans though. Bed storage is huge. Upgrade solar to 30 amp and easy to add extra panel. Kitchen storage a bit limited. Counter space great with L shape. Bottle opener does not work. Last of the gas/electric frig. Bunk house comfortable for adults with camp side windows. Both open, one emergency. Bathroom fine. Towels fall off pegs when traveling. Room to pass dinette when closed. Rear door great and floor area for dog bed. Nap on couch with bed up and slide closed or open slide a bit. Front window awesome. Awning too big in wind. Mount spare on rear. It fits fine. Large pass through storage. Door hard to close. Camp kitchen great. Wheels a bit small and too close together. Azdel is great and aluminum too. Nice graphics. Heated enclosed belly a big plus. Make more like this one. Thanks

If they put a big beautiful window on the nose, where the bed folds up, this thing would be unstoppable.

I like a lot of things. I cannot figure out the reason for two different patterns In The shower stall *twitchy. And- the toilet where the sink is facing the shower, would the sink where the toilet is would mean more leg room when seated. Just my two cents

Really loved this one. Perfect size for a beginner RV person like myself. Big bunks for my girls. Space under that for the dog. Love having the oven in the kitchen. Thought being able to access the dinette storage from the top would make storing large or awkward shaped item easier then the typical drawer style. Over all great looking unit. I also like the outdoor kitchen cause some things you just don’t want to cook in the RV. Thanks for doing the video!

Great video as always! Did you notice if the lights in this rig turn off independently like the rockwood? Also I know you love Rockwood but what is your pro opinion say between any of the legends and say the 2205s rockwood in build quality? 👍

Question: Would it be possible to travel with the dinette table and poles moved into the bunk/storage area? If so, I think that would make on-the-road potty stops a bit less difficult.

Can you give us a review on the Surveyor 260BHLE? I think it might be the best match for us. Separate bedroom, outside kitchen w/ griddle, rear door, central vac, aluminum frame w/Azdel under 30’ bunkhouse plus bonus seating at the bar w/ plenty of storage! Would swap the dinette for a couch tho. Could it be better??

We just viewed this model at an RV show last Saturday here in Virginia, and even then, seeing it in person, I missed a few things that you pointed out. Also, we were unable to view this in Road Mode. I came right to your channel to see your take, and I knew you'd cover Road Mode as you are thorough! Would accessing the bathroom in RM be easier if the dinette table were leveled down in bed mode so you could simply climb over the cushions? Additionally, could you leave the lower bunk up and petite people access the bathroom through the rear cargo door? You might need a foldy step but that's easy to keep in the truck.

We bought the 2023 Surveyor 240bhle, which has some AWESOME improvements over the 2022. Unfortunately Bish's didn't have 1 in stock, but that was my 1st phone call! Again, "thank you"! I feel confident that we are buying the best camper for my family's needs, and that's because of your videos!

I really like the decor in this one. Lots of storage too, for those people who "can't leave home without it" for everything lol. I especially like the gas struts for the dinette, better than having to pull up a board or squat down to yank out an enormous drawer.

We looked at Surveyors a year ago . They have a lot of features but are not rigged so they should only be used for short trips. We purchased an Outdoors RV and we have driven it 20,000 miles in 12 months. No major problems. My wife and I are delighted living full time with our Outdoors RV.

Is this outside the realm of what a Tacoma could tow?

I have a Surveyor Legend 19 RBLE and I LOVE it. Its my first camper and has not disappointed. I have a 2022 and my only complaint is the "EZ Storage Bench System". I do not like taking cushions off to access it and I often have a large dog crate on the dinette when it is down. So we are adding dinette doors. Other than that its been wonderful, easy to tow, easy to set up by myself. They feel much bigger than they look. There is tons of storage. I don't think I could use all the storage if I tried to lol.

I would like to see more solar options

It would be just me so would use the bunks as storage.

If those bunk beds were on E-tracks it would make the layout much more flexible. Non starter to not be able to open the murphy bed with the slide retracted.

It's definitely unique and has great features. One thing that after buying a Flagstaff i can't live without is the drawers under the dinette seats, cabinets over the dinette and outside storage access wherever it's possible. At the $37,000 pricing this unit is at, I'd rather go with a Flagstaff or Rockwood that weighs about 5300. Like 25brds or 2509s. But this unit definitely would work for many and has many great features.

Definitely in the market for this one. Only thing I would say is it's a little disappointing the bed won't fold down with the slide closed, but I guess that is manageable.

We love our Surveyor Legend 296QBLE and love that you’re able to review surveyors now! I’ve said it before and will say it again in hopes the manufacturers are reading this, I wish they would give us a color changing LED above the slide so we can pick the color. Can’t wait to see more Surveyor Legend’s and Grand Surveyor’s on the channel!

Overall this is a very nice family bunkhouse camper that can actually seat as many people as it can sleep and has a lot of standard features that so many other manufacturers still do not provide such as a walkable roof, a true queen bed, a porcelain toilet, a TV, some solar, slam latch doors and a ladder👍Having a plastic basin instead of a real sink is a little chintzy but definitely not a dealbreaker.

This is a nice RV. I realize that you can't drop the murphey bed in travel mode. Even with cargo in the back you can still sleep three or four persons in travel mode. The top bunk and the dinette can be used. This means that you can boondock in a rest area without opening the slide. I like it!

I can see people with the newer Ford ranger, chevy Colorado, etc. Really liking this one but for me like the extra aluminum construction Rockwood does, wins it for me personally, I feel the outside kitchen table thing is gonna break, and interior doesn't feel like a 35k trailer, but never been in these, very nice unit tho👍👍

Man, this really hits the nail on the head for us when we are ready to upgrade out '21 Geo Pro 19BH. Would be great to see a Geo pro twist on this floor plan but this build looks great. Some Keystone Outback interior vibes with the barn door come to mind. Dare I say it, but I might be able to get away with this in our '21 Ford Ranger!! Which I am most pleased about. Can't believe this exist. Kinda like a more practical Ember model I guess too.

So many good things... queen bed and only 26ft! I love the deep forward facing cabinet/pantry. Perfect for kids clothes. But whats up with the upper bunk window... and would it kill them to add a bunk ladder? Lose the carpet as long as I'm ranting. Is this a viable option for the money? It's got me thinking!

A week or two ago, I asked you for this trailer. Not sure that you saw the comment and went out and found something, or were oddly connected on a similar wave length, or it was just serendipity ... but this is my jam! A great length/weight for 1/2 ton towability, lots of storage, bunks and a queen bed, albeit with some compromises, but considering it would be moving the family (3 people, one of which is a college freshman who fortunately still likes camping with mom and dad) from a hybrid, which has served us well, to something completely enclosed and a little different. Road mode is definitely a plus. I don't see it as a main selling feature, but definitely a value add as we expand our range. The lack of a nosecone isn't a big deal since that's what we're coming from and I love the baggage doors with magnetic locks and slam latches and pass through storage. Finally, the PVC roof is perfect because it's walkable, and accessible via the ladder. And the camp kitchen kinda reminds me of a Swiss Army knife (pretty pedestrian at first glance, but full of possibility once you get into it). Do you have a dealership in the network within 2 hours of Eastern PA. Or can you make a referral? I'd like to explore the 240BHLE in person and see if it squares with what I want my next trailer to be like.

This trailer is really nice. My wife and I really considered buying one of these last summer/fall. I like the storage in the dinette more than the dinette that I ended up with. But I think I'd like slide out drawers or the slide out bins from the Wildwood X Lites. One thing that you missed is the toothbrush holder on the medicine cabinet. If you open the cabinet door, there was a built in toothbrush holder along the bottom. I ended up getting a Primetime Avenger 26BK instead. Once my wife saw an actual bedroom instead of the curtain for our bed, she said we needed to have our own room.

The one thing I wish you showed in each video is where the sewer hose stores, I know it’s “usually” the rear bumper but it would be nice to see. I love your videos though! Keep up the great work!

I do like it quite a bit. My biggest gripe is the tacky Murphy bed spilling out. I'd have to put some kind of fascia or veneer over it. Biggest like is the lack of coffin bunks.

It feels homey and cute. However, that access to the dinette storage is too cumbersome. With just two drawers and one cabinet in the kitchen, you're going to need that storage. I would remodel that by adding drawers. We would also add doors to the open shelves next to the bathroom and above the bed.

It's central ized AC. It's in the middle of the RV.

The cargo area is where I would put my cats litter box and maybe food and water dishes.

I'd rather have drawers under the dinette. I'm a cabinet maker so I have access to the materials necessary to fix that.

The upper bunk window has a sticker saying exit. You said it doesn't open for air flow. Do you mean it doesn't have a screen?

Are the USB plugs 12 volt or 110. That was one of the issues I had with our 2021 trailer. I added 12 volt chargers but it would be nice if they came from the factory with 12 volt chargers.

Josh- you keep muddying the waters every time you show me another trailer to consider! :) The Surveyor looks like a nice alternative to the Rockwood 2509, but I do still like the Rockwood cushiness better. This one does have great storage above the bed and the cargo door is a definite plus. Side question- when do newer model Jaycos come out? I have been scoping out the Jayco site, but a few of the new models don't have pictures, weights, or lengths published yet. Thanks for the video!

Lack of kitchen cupboards makes this a no go for me. Drawers for storage under the dinette benches would be way better than having to pull apart the bench seats to access.

Can it be optioned with no tv and a couple extra cabinets?

Still waiting for someone to perfect an east-west bathroom at the rear, an east-west kitchen at the front and Murphy bed in the middle. Similar to many class B's.

Hey Josh, Could you find time to do a review of the Surveyor 203RKLE? It's a unit that I am really interested in and would like your thoughts.

The top bunk window says exit next to it. Doesn’t that window open with the exit arm?

1) Duck Tails wooohoo... no. not just you. 2) The cabinets on either side of the bed-- could this unit be made with a king bed and smaller cabinets? I'd pay for that. 2) The dinette storage-- I hate it. Would have to maneuver around the table, or remove the table to use it. Would much prefer drawers. 3) Would want a flip-up countertop thing on the end of the sink but can live without it. 4) Should have a removeable net or strap across the underbunk cargo bay- would make securing cargo there. I would put the table top in there, and then getting around the sink would be really easy. 5) Would be great if you could option a windowed door (with the shade installed). 6) The propane connection at the camp kitchen-- would be great if there were two connections, then I could have my griddle AND my burner top running at the same time. Perhaps there's a removable Y-adapter that you sell as well?

That cabinet by the door should open the opposite way. Better to grab stuff when you're outside. Flash lights, frisbee, lawn darts, first aid kit. that kind of thing.

Nice camper but no mention of the electrical system. Assuming no inverter. I think the camp kitchen sink is good for boondocking, no impact on your gray tank if you dump it outside. I cold really live with this one.

This is similar to our passport 221bh. I would love the different sized sink cover. It gives you an option on how much additional counter space you need, or sink you lose. We have a sink cover and I use it all the time for prep. Ps. They need to add a counter extension.

Explain why the shower base is so much about the floor level. Are the counters strong enough to sit on?

Hey josh! Just bought a Rockwood 2509s and can’t stand the lack of forward pass through storage space. Is there a collection of “bendy bed” Murphy bed RVs with a bunkhouse and a slide (like this one) you’d recommend?

It’s a very nice layout. But there’s nothing that really stands out for me, good or bad. It’s perfectly fine, just doesn’t really stand out from the crowd.

I don’t mind the pegs. I’m not picky and usually accept things like that.

Boo on the pedestal table. While large windows are nice I don't generally care to have them on that side of the trailer. I'd rather have cabinets. The bedroom is nice but I'd rather have a fold down armrest.

Man it’s tough with these new brands and what to think. I grew up with a Jayco, so I bought a Jayco 18 years ago raised three kids camping with that thing. Like my parents never ever had leaks. Other stuff meh, but air tight. So like with these off brands maybe include warranty info? Anyway my wife and I are looking to roam in retirement and hell. Probably another Jayco. Just trying to decide on 5th wheel or another looong jay flight. My 2 cents
