I wanted Skar vfn 12s but I couldn't find a truck box that was deep enough that would fit under my back seat. I got 2 evl 8s ported qbomb box and a skar SKv2 1500 amp
I had 2 Skar Audio IX-8s in my 02 Maxima and for the power (300RMS total) and the box I had them in.....👌🏽👌🏽 it was good and enough bass for me. Now 2020 I went with 2 IX10s and after 2months of having them I might consider going back to the 8s or a single 12 from Skar....but 8s in my opinion (skars) sound great and go low enough for me and have a great balance. I listen to music, I’m not into competition
Man i recently got 2 6.5in ct sounds tropos on a ac500.1 ct amp and im genuinely impressed at how far audio has come, those things sound like a couple 12's to me lol best budget system ive ever had. And this is coming from someone that used to have nthn smaller than 2 10' or 2 12's at all times, one truck i had 2 12in audiobahn flame series subs in a big ported box with a 1200 hifonics zues amp i believe with 2 10in power bass subs in truck boxes on top of 12 box and a 1000watt hifonics amp in a little s10 extended cab, that thing pounded harder than anything ive ever had lol was fun being a kid with no responsibilities lol maybe one day when the kids move out i can put some real bass back in my ride but for now im pretty damn happy with my 2 6.5in subs and their big ass ported box lol
Enjoyed this! Currently trying to decide on going with some different 8s in my car but my setup as Is, is pretty good. Wanted some to maybe take some more power and get a tad louder. Currently running 2 Skar ZVX 8s on Skar 2000D in a bad ass box and I’ve hit a 142db. Also have a hatch back so that helps to, Audi Q5.
what tuning do you have the box for the zvx 8's i just bought a 22 corolla hatch and my zvx 12 wont fit in the trunk.. thinking of buying 3 zvx 8's... just wondering if they have more of a full range.. my zvx12 doesnt do so well with my taste of music.. only good for ultra low bass!
I have a skar svr 8” in a skar ported box and I’m going to replace it with a evl 8 since the svr doesn’t sound that good to me. I’m going to continue to use my skar 350watt mono block amp on the evl 8, will there be any issues since the speaker is rated 1200watt max? I don’t know to much of the science of car audio, but I used to have a 15” solobaric on a jl slasher 500 monoblock and that thing would rattle house windows.
i wanna pick up 8's hoping i get more of a frequency range vs my skar zvx 12's.. I listen to rock reggae country jazz and my door speakers put out more bass than the zvx with the music i listen too! But if i play rap music it damn near tears my car apart, so i find myself listening to rap even though im not into it that much anymore. would be nice to have something that fits my music taste.. i seen the skar svr's are optimal with a 51hz tuned box so i might have to give those a try.. my zvx is tuned at 31hz
Good talk! I’ve had multiple systems 10s, 12s, 15,s nothing like the 8’s I have now, in a well constructed box. Plays everything From low, low,, low to unnecessary high!!!!
Really? I bought a 2021 Mazadaq 3 hatchback and I am thinking on getting an 8..not sure if its too small though...grrr. I like metal though, not hip hop type stuff so I dont need the big booms
@@metaldreams3595 I heard 2 x8s on 1500 watts tuned to 32 hz in a sundown "spec" ported box. My then 13 yo hcca 12 600 rms/1200 max with one bad coil killed those x8s.

I'm a fan of DDs 8s I had 2 1508s on a T20001BD and they knocked. Now I have 2 2508s on a M1D for my SUV and recently purchased a T20001BD for my car and this time I'm going with 3 1508s I hope they sound nice. For a while I was running a T015 in a 4cu' box.

Fixin’ The Coast no as long as you set the amp correctly.. underpowering a sub only hurts if you clipping the amp trying to make it put out more than it can make. As far as the subs well you know they will not reach XMAX on that power, and after impedance rise they will not even see 1k. More is always better when it come to power.... you can always turn down the power, but you can’t turn up if you don’t have it.
I currently have 2 kicker l7t 12 inch, due to ported box requirements I am considering switching to l7 q class 10 inch. L7t xmax is about 10 mm vs l7 q class 10 inch xmax is about 19 mm. In your opinion will I lose much output?
So I have two 12-in kicker l7q class subwoofers and I have a cxa 1800.1 to go with them so with all of my electrical being correct that is the perfect setup in the right box?

KICKER Q Class, DD sw2508, Toro Tech Audio Force, DB Drive WDX G5 8’s , Sundown X8v3’s, American Bass Hd844(the old one)...it’s really what you can afford..but KICKER tops them all IMO
@@jerrylaguna990 I would go with 2 Skar Audio IX-8s and throw them in a ground shaker box....and power them with the Skar Audio RP 5channel amp. The civic is a bit smaller then my 02 Maxima. You’ll be happy with the 2 8s....I ran them for 4years
I would say high quality sub can outperform low quality 12". I made my bluetooth speaker using high quality 2 x 4 inch woofers + 2 x 6.5 pr's and it gets low to 30hz and pretty much plays similar as my 12' alpine swe1244 sub. Box is also important.
Carlos Solis The new Crossfire C5 is just the old C7... they did away with the C7 line and just move them over to the C5.. they are beast. I had 2 Crossfire C7 4 years ago and it was louder in my vehicle than the X8v2... don’t know if it can best the X8v3. You should get them or the X8v3... both beast

MB, I have heard you say distortion is hard to hear in a sub, and in another video about ohms, you said the higher the ohms such as 8 will be clean and distortion free unlike 1 ohm. At what ohm can you hear distortion?
Hmm, perhaps you don’t hear the distortion, perhaps it is lower quality when at a lower ohm rating. So, when could the human ear hear this lower quality in music?

A big part of your explanation that's missing from all of your theoretical equations is box rise. If you are at 300 watts at 5 ohms, you can most certainly run more power if the sun can take more.
Massive HIPPO XL 84's absolutely pulverize low end bass.. Best 8" subs are Massive Hippo XL's and Savard Hi-Q 8's, HANDS DOWN.......... resonance and sensitivity are key to a great sub, NOT WATTAGE...... All Sundowns are good for is consuming wattage, not great sound. I had 5 Hippo XL's in the trunk of a Toyota Corolla and tore my car UP..
GameAholics Anonymous I agree that Sundown are notoriously inefficient and capture the market with their ‘larger motors’. But they do sound great and generate serious a SPL. I also agree the Massive Hippos , on prefer the older version over the XL...and for the price point they can’t be beat
I got one of them Hi-Q 8’s that little sub hits the lows nice. Got it hooked up to a ct sounds 500.1 I don’t know if it can take the whole power to the amp so I just got half of it hooked up to it.
@nestor aguirre my son blew it out bro they told me I can send it out to them and have them fix it for like $65 bucks but I said nah I’m waiting for warmer weather and then then and getting the kickerl7R12
@nestor aguirre yeah I did had it for almost two years then let my son borrow my car for three weeks cause he had car problems and blew it out right before getting it back. I played it pretty loud but not for too long and sounded nice and clean. Guessing he over did it now I’m stuck with just door and back speakers till the summer.

My job requires me to talk on a radio, activate lights, actuate different tones as I approach intersections, all while driving much faster than other traffic around me. I think this dude has it well under control. Pay attention to how often your eyes leave the straight ahead position, then preach. Watching his surroundings, and hearing the rpms, this guy isn’t a dangerous driver.
