Plotting for my vehicle with cabin gain accounted for with your exact setup I'm 3db down at 26 and 38 that's not to bad but not exactly flat for 8s in a ported box though it's pretty good changing the tune to 37 I get flat from 29 to 46 no matter how you put in your getting a good half octave of verry high output and flat response nice setup dude
Hopefully when I get my box built by you it is enough room where I can play around with it having the speakers fire towards the rear door versus straight up towards the ceiling .
Dude you're making me laugh. You're sounding like me. When you state your position on something. You have the facts and you're not expressing your feelings or opinion. An opinion can be argued against, but only an idiot will dispute a fact. Unfortunately we run into a lot of people trying to justify the use of a particular driver based on their personal opinions and the price they paid, while ignoring speaker parameters. That being said, It's important to consider the materials used, the construction and the quality of work from the people building these speakers. I've seen defects in construction because the workers didn't care about their work and the lack of proper quality controls. Bigger name companies like JBL, Eminence, Polk Audio will generally have better quality controls in place because they are protecting their name. However I'm in no way advocating any of those companies over another brand. Good video. I'm impressed. Sorry about coming late to the party. I look forward to seeing more of your videos.
2 kicker solo baric q class 10’s VS 4 kicker q class solo baric 8’s. Box is 2.6 cubes net tuned to 33. Cone area of the 8s is greater by 40 to 50 square inches but the efficiency of the 10’s is 5 dB higher. Jl audio 1000/1 is the amp.
How often will the different programs come back with different parameters? Which is the most accurate? If two different enclosure come up would you take the diffrence of the two and go that way?
I knew SJA made that sub, I said it on the comments on other video. I love there subs, not always the prettiest but all business. What happened to Atomic are they still there house brand?
Hey MB, I downloaded that program to my phone and after running a simulation all things being equal and only varying the box volume from 4cuft to 5cuft to 6cuft the difference between the 4cuft and the 6cuft box was only at most 1.5db. Do you think being such a low db difference and as you said probably not even noticeable that the smaller box might be better as it takes up less space in my vehicle? Thanks for your input. -Cheers
probley should put the next sub up aginst kicker but do the round subwoofer to have the same cone area and same watts same size voice coil becus really the kicker square 8 aint really a 8 wonder what the numbers would be and im not a kicker hater im old school and havent tried square subs yet wonder how long it will take for other big name brands to start making square subs im guessing by next year
This is so true. Can’t compare a L7 8” to other 8’s because based on cone area it isn’t. Thusly the performance. I don’t any of the up starts will try to mimic KICKER in this, it’s very costly to design and manufacturer. KICKER designs and engineers it at Stillwater, but has a exclusive build house in China that makes it.
@@M.B.Enclosures i made some cubes boxes for my first set of 8s i always run 12s old school punch dvc powers so thats what im use to building big boxes for old school suns from the inside to the top of the box 15 inches i think there 1,2 cube foot each cube box there wdx 3k db subs i only found specs on 12s what size round port and how long i have a 4 inch in each cube right now but dont think there long enuff if i have to i can put new tops on and use differnt size round ports or just go longer with what i have i figure if anyone know db subs it would be the best one to ask
i just got an old set of power acoustik mofo 15's .,. $100 so i jumped on them for a work truck., but they are old enough i'm having a hard time finding the specs., no stickers or anything and info-net is all newer models or just 3 vids of people playing them.,im putting 2-15's.,in 2 separate boxes{1 per}., in a 500+/- cubic ft ride., at 3000'ish watts and there are space restrictions., [it's a WORK truck] but i want better than walmart boxes., want to build but nobody says the actual power vs air space "cause ALL 15's are the same right?" does only cone size matter.,?.,? ';'
Bad example because there aren't two speakers that would use the same size box if you put them both in the correct boxes you would get a different result. do the same thing but start with the sundown and see how terrible the kicker performs that's facts you even started the video explaining that then did exactly what you explained not to do.

But what if you put more power on sundown? Because the kickers can only push 450 rms and the sundown can do almost double... you would need double the pair of subs
