A Tutorial for making Twine quicker and easier.

This tutorial is all about using an anchor point to enable you to make fabric twine quicker and easier. It doesn't take long to learn and soon you'll be turning all your long scraps of fabric into beautiful and colourful cloth twine for use in all sorts of different ways.
I'll link the video that I first showed this method. It wasn't easy to just go back to it though, which is why I've made this stand alone tutorial.
If you enjoy this and would like to help support my channel I have a ko-fi page here. There's no pressure either way though.

Correct me if I'm wrong Marion) had a video about her collection of "hams". Not sure which video now but I may have been in her craft room tour?? Sorry I have a terrible memory. Lolol.

Baffles me how it doesn't just come untwisted being as it's only two strands as opposed to a braid of three! :). Great video, thanks much.
@marionsworld24
@marionsworld24 3 месяца назад
It's because both strands are twisted the same way...so they end up twisting around each other.. Have a look at some garden string.. it's the same process exactly. Or..the same as when your thread twists up whilst you're stitching. You have to keep untwisting your thread to keep it smooth. 🙂

I learned a method for yarn where you twist the strands opposite each other so both inward or both outward and they automatically twist around each other. This was over 40 years ago at a 17th century living history museum. I don't remember the fibre, wool, linen or other. We tied it to something across the room.

I get so many compliments on it from all ages and sorts of people. I am always looking for projects to use my twine yarn for. I like your idea of using it as a necklace - I have some sari silk yarn and a few lovely lampwork beads that need to come out into the world. And, I'm looking forward to watching your shoes video. Lovely ❤️. I was doing k3n’s way but yours looks easier on the hands. I’m going to try it. Thank you🥰🦋

Both methods are good. The twine is identical too. I'm just giving you a different option in how to make it where you don't have to be holding it all the time keeping it from unraveling... I hope it works for you 🤞
