Got this guy for a bit over $100 after shipping and taxes. Absolutely worth it. First titan purchase and I couldn't be happier. Just wish I had a proper place for him in my display.
To give you an idea on how awesome Metroplex was in the Cybertron cartoon, he took down Megatron with his Dark Claw Mode (combined with Nemesis Breaker) with a single swing of that weapon he carries Oh and he's got a Scottish accent
Not sleeping on this one just can't afford him at $200 Canadian. As an owner of the original, and as someone who has seen Cybertron/Galaxy Force this is an impressive updating of the original design without losing the original design in the process. This is everything I wanted the original Cyberton Metroplex to be, but at a Leader price point, and though he had a minicon, and electronics he never had the size or heft to be in scale or show accurate. While the G1 Titans look fun and substantial all I really want in my collection now is this guy and the upcoming Tidal Wave. Maybe in 2025 we can get a Titan Class Broadside . . . oh wait I don't think anybody wants that.
I snagged this guy recently for just $65! Crazy as hell deal! He's currently being shipped to my house and I can't wait! This will make my first proper Titan class figure. I say proper because studio series Devastator is just a bunch of deluxes, voyagers and commanders wearing a trench coat pretending to be a Titan.
got this guy for 100 bucks as well. only complain is that the shoulders aren't as solid as the heavy ratchet need them to be (due to transformation) as well as him feelin a little "basic". apart from that, absolute blast, althought the heavy vlicks he makes whenever I move anything make me not want to handle him
I don't think I saw any review about metroplex that mentioned that grey section was supposed to be a cockpit for a minicon. Though I have seen the prices for those glorified micromasters. So I can believe the budgetary issues
Fun fact the weapon is supposed to be a giant battle axe called spark drinker (yes that is the official name for it). On the original release the cyber key would open the axe head up with a little light and some sounds
Convinced he just came out at the wrong time. Swap the release of tidal wave and metroplex and he would’ve been a hit. Unicorn trilogy was just barely up and running and metroplex is a super niche character. Everyone knows and love tidal wave, he would’ve released amongst megatron, prime, starscream, and hotshot. Release metroplex now and he’s alongside vector prime, starscream, and hotshot.
I almost skipped this figure. Got him for 100 bucks and it is the best titan class hands down. (This comment was written before Tidal Wave gets released and chances are Tidal Wave will be better.)
