For years the Mazda RX-7 has been the apple of diecast manufacturers’ eyes, so it’s nice to finally see the quirky but memorable RX-8 get its due. We’ll soon see a version from Tomica Limited Vintage Neo, but for now I’d like to check out this slick version from Matchbox.

This looks awesome but obviously incomparable to the LV-N314a which you mentioned in the video description. Anyways, a bit of an irrelevant question but how much do TLVNs cost in the Philippines? In Amazon India, I found a TLVN Nissan GT-R Premium T-spec (LV-N266b) being sold for 11781 rupees or around 8281 pesos. Cheapest one I found (LV-N277a Lancia Theme 8.32 Phase 1) costs 7189 rupees or around 5053 pesos.

The premium on those TLVN models is, in a word, unconscionable. On the average a new TLVN costs between Php1,200 to Php1,800. A Ferrari TLVN is pricier but the most I have ever paid for one is Php6,500, and that was a special edition. The merchants selling TLVN models at those prices in India either had to pay a fortune in duties to import them or are simply crooks. By the way I preordered my TLVN Mazda RX-8 for Php1,350 or roughly USD23. It’ll be a few months till I get it, though.

@@jimsmagnificentminiaturemo3235 Right. Premium diecasts are insanely pricey in Amazon India. For context, a standard Mini GT casting (Kaido House ones are not really sold) costs the equivalent of between PHP 1200 and 1410. There are no official importers for TLVN yet, so maybe that explains the prices. Tomica Premiums (very, very few of them) are sold on Amazon for the equivalent of between PHP 900 and 990 (retail, which is available in southern India is at PHP 491). Common series Tomicas are marked at PHP 351 and some slightly less, around PHP 320 worth. I own two mainline Tomicas, the No. 11 STO and the No. 78 Civic Type R and their cumulative price is PHP 630.5, I'm guessing I could buy a minimum of three common series Tomicas in Manila for that price.
