Hello Brian! any tips for the D2 & D2' finger tricks and flicking? That's where I struggles the most even in both CFOP and ROUX. Basically any D moves. Thanks!
I didn't realise why I was struggling with A perms for a long time until I found out I wasn't using the best alg for one of them - basically, it wasn't until I used the top algs (as per speedcubedb) for *both* A perms - that is, having the V block always at front left that I started getting a chance for consistently regripping the same way at the start of the alg. This in turn helped me to start executing D2 better, without even really drilling the alg. The fact I was doing a different regrip before for each alg simply made finding the right position for D2 more than twice as difficult.
Jayden has a whole video wanking on his turning. I really want to see his reaction when he sees this😂. Solid advice but the fact that student Brian has grown enough balls to give advice to the master, bruh, we need a reaction video😂🔥 Thanks though. I catch myself dragging turns every now and then too and I had a fleeting suspicion it was bad for my solves. Now I know by how much. Pog
Whow!! Such speed !! How to increase it?? Maybe it's cause I'm 38 but i'm like 8 time slower even in the basic sexy move :( Is it something that come with time (I only cube for 1,5 years) or is it a natural thing that differs among people ?
Some of it may come down to an age factor, but it is almost entirely just from turning a lot and trying to turn fast a lot. So more time cubing will get most people faster at turning.
I would say that if You can turn the cube decently fast I wouldn’t worry about finger tricks just try to get good at look ahead or f2l or full lol and learn algorithms and stuff
I don't think age is necessarily that much of the factor when it comes to being able to turn decently, but moreso boredom of drilling good fingertricks - there are plenty of concert pianists twice your age with much higher "tps". Try this form of deliberate practice: For something like sexy move, start by breaking it down even more into chunks of two moves. So instead of trying to spam R U R' U' very quickly from the outset (and being confused about what move comes next), try starting by making sure you can do the first two moves very quickly without any pauses in between. R U. U' R. R U, etc. Do it back and forth. Then add a third move and make sure all three happen instantly in one coordinated fluid motion. Finally, add the fourth move and do it forwards and backwards. Always have your fingers ready to make the next turn before you've finished the previous turn. With longer algs, a similar approach can be taken to smoothen rough spots. This is the same technique one might use for instrumental music practice. Lastly, when you're not even with your cube and find yourself daydreaming while doing chores, think about the cube and doing the moves - that form of visualisation as athletes do will also help you remember and be mindful of efficient turning.
