A Vehicle Almost Hits Cyclist (Me) Crossing Crosswalk on Pinellas Trail At Lansbrook 

It was doing more than that. They were trying very hard to stop when they saw me. In the video, they don't appear to be going as fast as they were because they were braking hard. The people that ride on the bikes on East Lake Rd are nuts when there is a trail right here. A deadly freak accident just happened on Thursday just South of this location around 1 pm. The driver caused it on the North side of the road and the accident ended up on the guard rail next to Pinellas Trail on the Southside of East Lake Rd. www.yahoo.com/news/crash-serious-injuries-shuts-down-210421063.html I am glad that guard rail is there. I used to ride around 1 pm but, I've been riding later in the afternoon when it's cooler. I am glad I didn't see that happen or see it after...two days after my incident.

Do you think that the vehicle would not have crossed the crosswalk had I stopped at that stop sign? My answer is no. As I explained to people on the Facebook page that brought up the same subject was that I wasn't bickering about this. We're human and we make mistakes. I was telling people to be careful with the farthest lane that people turn in because this happens a lot.
