Honestly best and most relate-able review I've seen on this phone or any phone for that matter. Just got my S9+ in the mail, and loving it. I honestly thought the A11 Bionic was fast in my previous iPhone 8 Plus, but this thing screams that out of the water in even simple tasks. Great stuff man, enjoy that beast. I know I will be for the foreseeable future!

I'm an Apple fan but we've recycled a design for 3+ years. Samsung do it once and still provide good upgrades and people just say it's exactly the same?

8:50 They removed this feature in the last update. Now you can only create split-screen shortcuts in the Edge menu (not in the home screen). I hate so much this "Updates" which actually remove great features like this. Samsung really doesn't care about their users.

For example, I simply say *I'm* *on* *a* *Journey* to do ALL of the following: - Turn off Wi-Fi - Turn off NFC - Turn on Bluetooth - Set Location Mode to High Accuracy - Turn on voice wake up and set wake up sensitivity to medium - Set media volume to 90% - Close all recent apps (to avoid any unnecessary background battery drain) - Open Samsung Music and Play my "On the go Music Collection" playlist (now streaming over Bluetooth to my vehicle's speakers, or AUX to my work truck speakers) - Open AutoGuard (turns my Note 8 into a DashCam and starts recording video in the background) - Open Car Dashdroid (simply the best Car Mode app, automatically sets itself as the default launcher) - Open Google Maps Enter my destination in Google maps and place my Note 8 in my iOttie QI windshield mount, where it's fast charging wirelessly. On arrival, I simply say Hi Bixby *I* *have* *arrived* to do ALL of the following: - Pause Samsung Music - Turn on Wi-Fi - Turn on NFC - Turn off voice wake up (I really don't like anything listening 24/7 to me) - Set locating method to battery saving - Close AutoGuard (which stops the background recording) - Go to the Home Screen (shows the Car DashDroid home screen) - Go back (closes Car DashDroid and sets Nova Launcher back to my Default launcher)

Yes, I was still watching - all the way to the end. Well done video. Thank you. Been shopping for a new phone the last year - yes, year. I am impressed with what might be in the Note 9 as well as the to come Sony XZ2 Premium. Of course neither are out yet but the specs are as are the model phones prior. Based on what you know about the S9+, as I heard the Note 9 will be similar, and what you may know about the Sony XZ2, perhaps you can give some guess as to which of those might fit as I am looking to make some light videos, stereo speakers are important as well as RAM, minimum 6gb, and storage, preferably over 64gb as videos take storage (A headphone jack would have been nice but hear Sony took it off the coming model and the one out now also.) I realize it would only be an educated guess but would take me that much closer to narrowing this down. I am one that likes to hold onto my tech for some time if possible. Thank you.

My s6 edge plus still looks and feels amazing. 4gb ram, nice camera, etc. It was a good investment. And the appearance isnt aged at all! Of course it shows its age, but not as much as i expected.

I totally agree about the placement of the lock button being opposite the Bixby or volume buttons. I've had the S5 for a few years (still has user replaceable batteries) and I constantly either have to be careful not to lock my phone when changing the volume. All of the new features of the later Samsung, or other manufacturers, phones are nice but I still want a user replaceable battery. I'm holding out hoping the industry will get the message that there is a large consumer base that wants that feature and it begins to show up once again. Really the Samsung Galaxy S5 is still a great phone with water resist features, a headphone jack, removable battery, great screen, NFC, Bluetooth, dual-band WiFi, Infrared (missing on Galaxy S9), SD Card slot, good camera, and much much more. They are still available New In Box on eBay for less than $200. We bought three of them just to keep as spares. We'd hate to be forced into buying phones without replaceable batteries. What I want is the ability to buy a $20 battery and pop it in after the old battery begins to deteriorate. I also can carry a spare battery (small, thin, and light) just in case I need more power throughout the day. That doesn't happen often but it sure is nice to have that option.

What I did like about about the phone as well. Was how they finally fixed then issue with the screen protectors not sticking on. So now the edge are better rounded out to fit right. So I'm happy with that. And upgrading from a old slow phone. This was great .

Hey, I love your channels, lots of fun and informative content. In the sense of constructive criticism would be small but seem a lot better would be balancing audio between the intro and the video to make it seem more seamless. On this video the audio is perfectly setup but the into video is at a lower volume making it feel a bit off. Other than that keep rocking on, love the channels guys

There's an option in device management (which is in settings, you can also access it from the edge panel) where you can clean the memory which in some situations does save battery life, especially if you're an avid multiple app and internet user. Turning off auto-updates, uninstalling useless apps like sports etc. also help with storage and battery. I'm sure you know, but there's 2 battery saver options from the notification panel... You can also get a case that lets you use more pressure (ever so slightly more) on the buttons so that in any case the Bixby button won't be accidentally pressed, even though I never really press it anyway. There's also a toggle option for the home screen settings where you can disable the Bixby Home page.

Samsung is King of smartphones right now

I've always (mostly) enjoyed Samsungs Galaxy S series. Reasonably decent quality, and their widespread large sales and capable hardware have kept them alive for ages through Cyanogen(Mod) and other custom, community projects and ROMs. But without those custom ROMs though... I was originally intent on uograding from S4 to S6. But I needed wifi calling, and cell operators here would introduce it with Nougat. It took so damn long waiting for, by the time the correct region Nougat update (due to the carrier-specific wifi calling bit) was available for longer than a few hours before being pulled down again, not only had the S7 been launched, with Marshmallow, but S8 release was only weeks away! So I waited a few weeks for the S8 release, and got an S7 (edge) for $350'ish instead. Had I not been as comfortable with custom ROMs once the phone gets a yeat or two old, I probably wouldn't have bought another SGSx. Samsungs software and firmware support has lightyears to go before they may some day be up to snuff in that department.

You are so right about Samsung's software support. I love that Apple constantly updates the software. Apple has its problems, but they squash bugs all the time. They also don't allow carrier bloatware on the phone. Samsung has better hardware, hands down, but Apple has the better software experience (by apps and ecosystem ).

Great video! Is it true that the software is less janky on the S9+? On my S8+, scolling through some apps (Facebook) makes me feel like Im getting motion sickness! That fix alone would be worth the upgrade to me.

The s8 was like the lg gram 2017 and now the s9 is just like lg gram 2018. It improved only the things that people gave it crap for and kept the things that people liked

100% agree with you on the software upgrade instead of creating fluff that nobody asked for!!! None of my Bixby feedback as been applied. Whereas I've seen my google product feedback implemented within hours and sometimes weeks after I submit them.

Still have my Note 4. New phones are cool, but not cool enough to convince me to drop $700-900+. Just my opinion. I'm eager to upgrade...but there's just nothing worth upgrading to. If my Note 4 gets stolen, lost, or destroyed, then I'll drop the dough on a new flagship. Again, just nothing groundbreaking worth upgrading to.
