Hey all! Fourth video here, I want to say thank you ever so much for the support I am receiving on these. I am learning so much about everyone here and I feel like it's a little community of supermarket delivery drivers hah! Amazing.
Anyway.. this was the hottest day I've worked in the van so far without AC, around 31'c... too warm for me. No thank you hah. Sorry it is a short one! Too hot to record a lot for me.

What's it like driving the van compared to a car? Does it take a lot of getting used to? I'm hoping to become an ASDA driver soon, after shelf stacking for nearly two years I need a change of pace. Great content as always mate!

Go for it mate. It’s not much more difficult at all, I have just got my Class 2 HGV license.. that was a little more interesting to get used to hah. Honestly the vans are pretty good, decent turning circle too and fit through some tight spots - just always remember most of the ASDA vans have a ‘step’ (the metal thing on the door side) that sticks out slightly more than the body does and you may catch it on a car in a carpark if not careful (talking from experience 😅)

What happens to the rejected substitutions from deliveries? Do they get binned or does some poor soul have to put all the stuff back in store? Do some customers keep the stuff and then still expect refund?

Drivers are expected to put most of their returns away when possible to do so, customer is refunded for the returns.

I’ve just got the same job as yourself I’m shitting it because I’m both the strongest built person hopefully I will be fine how do you find the totes?

Honestly the totes are fine for me, I actively go to the gym and whatnot and have done for atleast 4 years - the heaviest totes don’t really get above 20kg but just can be awkward to life due to how the weight is distributed or it may be bottles of stuff etc. just try not to tip over the dolly fully loaded 😂

About to start as a driver next week, any advice or little tips?

Enjoy it! Not really, just make sure to check you have everything on the van before you leave, scan all the totes off at customer addresses to make sure nothing is missing and don’t drive like a menace aha. Also when putting empty totes in the van, they stack up to 4 together, so 12 on a row to maximise space.

My situation is pretty much exactly the same as yours currently. I’m a Sainsbury’s driver and I’m just starting all my training and theory for HGV Cat C too Is that test any harder than the normal one for cars? Any tips would be appreciated, cheers mate Keep up the good content, will be great to see your journey

Thank you. The theory is alright, just awkward being three seperate parts you have to book: main theory, hazard perception then CPC case study. They have more questions than a car test but aren’t too much more difficult if you prepare a bit in advance, passed them all first time using the DVLA HGV THEORY phone app. I have my practical Cat C test this Wednesday so I’ll let you know how that goes

Love watching your content, I've been at Dominos as a driver for 3 years and in management for the past year, I'm thinking about switching jobs and being an ASDA driver since I always enjoyed driving for work and burning some calories while on shift, would you recommend this for someone like me who is looking to do something a little more stress free and enjoyable to pass the time?

I enjoy working for them. My management team are really nice and accomodating with my university, I can get time off for volunteering 2 weeks in advance if there’s availability to cover, the work isn’t strenuous at all and you get to know your customers on the days you work.. overall it’s a nice, relatively calm, job to have. Just don’t crash the van hah.
