Ahead of the upcoming Pleasantview gameplay series, here’s a ‘brief’ introduction to my 20+ households and what to expect from their playthroughs. A lot has changed in ~65 years indeed.

🤣 i thought about this comment today when i was editing the next pleasants video. when i was playing them i considered pairing suzy (eve pleasant and morty lothario’s daughter) with eli burb (tyler burb’s son), only to remember their parents are first cousins so suzy and eli share the same great-grandparents, making them second cousins 🤣 all i could think of was ‘it’s gonna become a family wreath’ hahaha

me too!! it’s so amazing how we are all given the same set of sims yet no player will ever play the exact same way! even though i took a lot of inspiration from another player at the start of my pleasantview, it still feels like it’s branched into something different now 🥺👉🏻👈🏻

i was actually going to post the neighbourhood family tree on my blog ahead of releasing this video (i keep it updated on familyecho. and yep, it’s reached the point where everyone except gilbert/florence/alder is in the one tree 🤣) but... got too excited about posting this video first lmao. i will probably upload it sometime this week though. but yes, in all the upcoming videos i will be sure to show the family tree(s)✨ thank you for the suggestion, and thank you so much!! i know it’s just a game and all that but it really means a lot! 🥺

Late to the party but I am living for the drama in this hood 🙌🏻 it’s so interesting getting to see a hood that’s 9 rounds deep and already have established families and storylines, in contrast to a new fresh PV playthrough 👀

oh my gosh hi 🥺 i was so afraid about sharing my pleasantview after already playing for over a year because i thought no one would be interested since it’s essentially a custom hood at this point and a lot of the original playable sims are gone, so i was super surprised and humbled when i found out people did wanna see more!! i’ve tried to keep it really close to pleasantview in terms of drama and storylines (though tbh most of them just happened on their own because of acr lol) so it can hopefully still kinda be recognisable? pleasantview has always reminded me of a soap opera anyway so a lot of the drama has happened organically. but yeah! sharing it with the world felt so personal and scary but i’m so glad i did! 🥺

Same. Im amazed by how accurate the signs-aspiration system is on the sims2. Cancer sims get a family aspiration? Heck yes! Libra and taurus get romance? Yas‼‼‼

I love to make really soap opera style complicated storyline’s like this and so it is sick hearing about yours! I’ve been stuck playing the same couple of stories but this has inspired me to start some new ones!! I know I’ve already said- but I love your videos so much :)

omg i’m so happy i could inspire you ❤️ honestly adopting pleasantsims’ style of playing changed my life! it’s the best decision regarding ts2 i’ve ever made. i used to manufacture drama, create storylines for every single sim, and i needed to be in control of every little thing my sims did. i also only played my own custom hoods. turning free will on, letting my sims guide me through their wants, and including -chaotic- mods like acr was daunting at first but it has made my game so F R E S H. it’s such a simple change but it’s like playing a whole new game! the storylines write themselves, and you get an idea of who each sim is as an individual rather than a plot point. point is: GO! FOR! IT! thank you sososo much!! 🥺❤️

Excited to watch your gameplay vids after this! I Stan the base game maxis made families so much. I still remember my sim families I that I got so invested in in the 2000s. Like, my Brandi married Goopy GilsCarbo (I didn’t know any better 😂) & had like 2 more kids with him, then eventually married Darren & had 2 more kids. I had added on to that trailer of hers so much that she literally only had like one empty grid space surrounding the entire lot hahaha. She ran a flower shop out of a room on the main level that was only accessible from a door on the exterior of the house that had the open/close sign next to it… I still play with the same sims, only I use Pleasant Sims “Sims 2: 25 years later” Sims 4 save. I love it. There’s just something special & nostalgic about the pre-made sims from Sims 2. Right now in my game, Daniel & Kaylynn’s heavily pregnant teen daughter “Liz” just married young adult Primo Lothario. Their daughter “Elle” is a a toddler now & Primo already has a pregnant mistress 🙄 😂 Oh! & this is the first time I’m playing with @SimRealist’s “Mortem Mod” & Daniel’s death was a legit struggle… dealing with the coroner, planning the funeral, & then actually going through the services & Angela & Lilith & everybody was there all in black 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 if you’re still reading, good cause I watched your longggggg videos hahahah ❤️

Did you ever regret to have so much sims in only one hood? I'm controlling the population in my hoods buttttt as one family sim myself I think I wanna just let it lose 🤣 I think the only way to don't have everything weird when have the bluewater village attached is include everybody in the rotation but in this way the younger sims would be part of the first generation and this is kinda one missed opportunity. Yeah I'm always using old family names in the sims too because the family trees in this game were really big and I love when the kid it's the mirrored image of one of the parents in interests, hobbies or aspirations/dreams in life. The fact is that I was one simmer that never let the sims die at all because I was too attached to them. My last ask in those long comments is: do you plan to include or ever included the sims of the university in your neighborhoods? Because I'm thinking to do this, just bothers me all those sims that are forever in college and knows the great-great-grandfather of my sims.

honestly i just can’t believe it took me so long to realise why i kept having so many babies, even when my sims were on birth control 🤣 i have a rule where i will only have family sims who roll the want to have a baby actively try for a baby, and if they have a specific ltw that requires a certain amount of children (i.e. graduate 3 children, marry off 6 children) that’s how many they’re ‘allowed’ to have. all non-family sims go on birth control. but it didn’t matter what i did, because i had the acr risky woohoo settings up WAY too high so all my sims, even if they weren’t family sims, just kept pushing out babies. hopefully now i’ve lowered the settings we won’t see any more accidental babies and only family sims will be allowed to try for baby, at least until i can control the population slightly better. my sims only ever die of old age 😓 i have thought about playing the university premades and did open the sorority at one point, stared at it, then exited because i realised if i played one uni household i’d have to play them all. instead i just never really let them interact with my playables so i can pretend they don’t exist lol. i have thought about playing them for this series, though, as a kind of spinoff - kind of like how pleasantsims used to do townie stories. the best thing to do with them is play them through college then turn them into townies, but then i’d worry i’d get attached and want them as playables. they might also come in handy though once my pleasantview gets a little too... related 😅 or it would be good if any of my single playable sims get together with a uni sim! i really wish i’d gotten empty uni templates...we will have to see what happens there hahaha

@@tanicsims2 my risky woohoo it's 10% and I'm planning to never actively try for baby, but I don't know if I will have this patience, I will just include the uni sims in my rotation, but I know that's one dangerous step to do 😂. Strangetown don't even have the space for this amount of people live but with all those curious, the hood gonna be related in 2 generations max.

This makes me want to try documenting my Uberhood as it develops. Maybe when I get to a week played on every household, I'll set up a screen recording software... I've got some fun little storylines developing, like Malcolm Landgraab IV and Dina Caliente's absolute BFBVFS of a marriage and John Mole taking on Lilith Pleasant as his spy protégé. I love how you updated the bios! I do that too; I feel like it makes the 'hoods feel more alive, plus it can remind me what I was doing if I haven't played a family for a while. On another note, statements like "it wasn't me, it was ACR" and "they weren't planned, this was not what I wanted for her" are exactly why I refuse to use ACR or risky woohoo. I like to micromanage way too much. It's fun to see how it creates dramas in others' games, but if I want that kind of drama in mine, I'll set it up myself!

two of my favourite things 🥺 i swear it wasn’t even intentional lol; pleasantview’s storylines are as soap opera as they come already, though acr definitely helped make it even more soap opera-y. a lot of affairs, secrets, and unexpected pregnancies 🤣

Found all this so interesting, can’t wait to binge the series so far! If I were you, Id have put the soundtrack in later and turned it down because it was a bit choppy and loud and sometimes overshadowed the awesome stuff you were saying. I hope you don’t take that too critically, your amazing Corruption Chronicles have proven your editing skills are far superior to mine! "the unhappy families are kind of gone now... with don gone" xD I don't own sims 2 but seeing people play it makes me really want to try rotational townie gameplay out... maybe I'll try to set it up for sims 3 once I finish my current 100% legacy project (which isn't as impressive as it sounds considering I've only played half a generation so far lol)

that is so cute, and i relate completely!! so far only the original adults and elders have passed and while i... might have cried over a few of them dying... i think it’ll be even harder when i have to say goodbye to the sims who were born in-game. it’s like i raised them from the minute they were born... i saw their lives from birth to the end days... so i’m really dreading saying goodbye to them the most. it’s part of why i wanted to start recording now, before it was too late - that way, after they’ve gone, i can still see them in photos and videos 🥺

its okay! i’ll try my best to explain haha. have you played any of the later games (sims 3/4)? if so you may be familiar with how all sims in a world age and go about their lives even if they are not the active household. but in the sims 2, this is not the case. so sims 2 players like myself like to play rotationally, wherein we play one household for a number of sim days (my personal choice is a week) then move onto the next household until eventually every household is in sync. that’s a round. then we go back and start again, for another round! i hope that makes sense! ☺️

oh, of course! i’m bi myself so representation is extremely important to me. i randomise each sim’s gender preference once they become a teen, so it’s out of my control - but if i did decide them myself, i would probably have a lot more lgbtq+ sims. everyone deserves to see themselves represented in this game ❤️ please, i encourage you to go and play if you can! that’s what i hope to inspire people to do with all my videos!

Yeah lately I downloaded two lots for strangetown that don't even opened and I don't know how to clean lots before put in my game, in pleasantsims discord one user say to me to just delete the lot from the hood and the bin, please teach us how to properly clean the downloaded lot before use in our precious hoods!!!! Btw besides hood checker how I can know FOR SURE that my hood is clean and without corruption? Because I think hood checker only show the obvious things.

you might not need to clean them up; most creators, especially recently/in the past few years, make sure to upload an untouched copy. websites like modthesims are pretty strict in enforcing this too. are you sure they have been play tested/previously occupied? we’re still not 100% sure about the consequences of downloading and placing lots that may have been opened (and play tested) in another hood, to the point where no one is really certain how (or if it even is) dangerous it might be. still, your best bet is to place them in a test/throwaway hood you don’t play and check them before placing them in your actual hood(s), or make sure you have a recent backup to revert to. i have never cleaned lots out myself, however i could probably teach myself how to do it - i’ve skimmed some tutorials and threads before when trying to learn more about this subject. if i manage to figure it out though i could potentially consider making a tutorial on how to clean lots in simpe? not sure if anyone has done that before - there might be someone cleverer than i who would explain/demonstrate it a lot better 🤣

@@tanicsims2 I didn't know that we have to have one clean version of the bon voyage hoods too, I don't have yet but I don't have this attached in any of my hoods yet. Sims 2 it's very tricky.

oh and for your edit: honestly? hoodchecker is the best tool we have currently, and we probably won’t get anything more advanced than that. there’s only so much game code programmers and modders can access, unfortunately, so we can never know the full scope of corruption. suffice to say, though - if you do everything right and never do any vbt, then you won’t have anything to worry about. if you also have the essential anti-corruption mods, use clean templates (including stealth and subhoods) and hoodchecker, your chances of having corruption - as in, completely unplayable, bfbvfs - are very low. you might see glitches and bugs but those don’t always mean corruption/impending doom ☺️
