Literally the only thing going for Grix so that they don't immediately consider that he's obviously going to be a boss fight later is that Arthur Aguefort made him, which is just... so confusing to imagine someone as chaotic as him would make a lawful natural robot. So it's just ambiguous enough lmao

I'm gonna take a wild guess and say that the principal designed a robot that would take total facistic control of the school so the kids would rise up and destroy it. Definitely an Arthur Aguefort move, I mean all his exams are just deadly walks through the woods or knife fights anyway.

Oh shit that idea hadn’t even occurred to me. Tbh I feel like he’s too self focused to take that much initiative for the students, but I wouldn’t be surprised if shows up at the end of the final battle, is surprised, and then immediately is like “of course that’s what you should have done, look how everything works out!” and then just wishes everyone a good summer and dips.

Important to note: Grix is a Warforged, not a mindless construct. If this is the first time he's been activated he's only going to have his programming to work off of meaning he's essentially a baby and just needs time to learn, I hope the Bad Kids can manage to make an Ally out of him.

If I had a nickel for every time a D&D actual play about an Academy that teaches magic replaced a beloved and powerful Wizard with an immediately suspicious Warforged as the A. Academy’s Headmaster, I’d have 2 nickels. Which isn’t a lot of money, but it’s weird that it happened twice.
