A very special 1st birthday!
Just like that, Rupert turned one!
It only feels like 5 minutes ago we were in the hospital bringing Rupert home, but we’ve officially said goodbye to the baby phase and hello to the toddler phase! HELP!
We had the best day celebrating Roo’s first birthday with family and friends. He opened lots of wonderful gifts, including a scooter and a mini climbing frame.
The day was made even more special with the most amazing birthday cake made by Bellasbakes01 ( / bellasbakes01 . It was ‘Rupert the Bear’ themed and tasted absolutely delicious.
We decorated the house with lots of colourful bunting and party decorations, in the theme of a Teddy Bear’s Picnic.
Thank you all so much for the kind messages we received on Rupert’s first birthday. We are so grateful to all of you for supporting our family.

What a lovely first birthday celebration for Rupert!! True he won't remember it at all, but the video evidence will live on forever, and he'll be able to see it once he can remember. The same is true for all the vid clips you watched at the party. What a great way for a child to have memories of childhood. That Dutch Birthday song brought back soooo many memories. I was actually able to sing along because I know all the words. If your Dutch family is anything like mine they have very loud/deep voices. They sing this song in restaurants which attracts lots of attention.
