I'd highly advise against that. The bible says to trust in the lord and not lean to our own understanding. If your "pause" goes longer than a day then you'd be leaning unto your own understanding and not Gods. Because the bible is filled with multiple instructions and ensamples to read it daily (Joshua, Job, Psalms and Christ himself in the gospels). If you've gone into another day and still feel the need to pause on something, then you can just re-read whatever youre pausing on and keep re-reading that daily until you no longer feel the need to pause. But to just not read would be leaning unto your own understanding/ your own way of thinking instead of Gods way. Blessings.

Great advice given in this thread. I'd like to add that investing in a study bible is a great idea... See, scripture interprets scripture and it can be so illuminating to see a similar scripture expressed in another context. Scripture answers scripture and explains it. As complex as the Bible is, the intentionality within and the genius woven in it for me proves that man alone could not have created it. It is the greatest anthology and even greatest masterpiece of literature spanning across hundreds of years, multiple generations and with authors from different physical locations, backgrounds and culture. They couldn't have collaborated... They each brought a unique flavor that fits so perfectly but we can't see the correlations just like that... These can only be seen with the help of he Holy Spirit. This book that I admittedly used to bash is actually the most fascinating collection of truths in existence

Everyone has faith, it is just a matter of what we put our faith in. The only one who is worthy of our faith is God. U see even atheists have faith, faith that nature created. But we know that God created as His handy work is seen throughout all of creation.

I will pray for you GoldenG. I also suffer from lower back pain from a 20+ year old injury that is permanent. It is excruciating and has brought me to my knees literally sometimes because of pain and many times when I'm talking to the Lord about it. We don't know what God has in store for you and so we must put our trust in him completely that He is in control and give your trust to Him no matter what. Now I realize many years later that God has used my injury to bring me and others closer to Him. Yes, I have times of horrible suffering and pain because of that bring me to tears. Ask God why can't He just take it away, but in my heart I know it will be OK because He is by my side giving me the strength and fortitude needed to get through it. He never gives us more than we can handle and handling it for all these years has revealed that I AM stronger than I ever imagined possible. But, it is only through His grace and knowing without a doubt and that He always will help each one of us get through anything that comes our way. The result may not be what you had in mind. Mine surely wasn't - I was totally devastated for a long time, but still trusted in Him to guide and help me. Now looking back, it all makes perfect sense that I couldn't have until now. Put your trust in Him to see you through whatever comes your way and He will give you the strength you need. ❤ God bless!💜

i want to be friends with him he looks so humble and honest. you can see God working in his life and knows Jesus, because when Ray asked him about who is lying either him or Jesus you can see how he knows Jesus cant be the one lying cause he cant so it has to be him so i know the Lord is with him and he is a born again Christian, even though he might not know what it means Yet in due time i believe he will cause God will show him.

Tonywith10... With Rays earlier videos, I would struggle with him saying we must "turn from our sins". In my mind I took that to mean we must stop sinning to be saved. When you make a brief statement pointing out how many claim Christ, but live in sin. I wonder what your trying to say. I can go to Romans 7, read all of that and my understanding is some people may be born again and struggle with sin. I believe the main issue with this person and most people today is Pride. This guy and most people believe they are good.

My name is FFEJ I am a sinner, the Bible clearly teaches that we all sin, even us who know God and love Him. But at the same time, it also says that anyone who practices sin is not of God but of the devil. Our lives, after salvation should have an upward growth in sanctification toward God, as we constantly confess our sins to Him and submit to the Spirit who is in us to cleanse us from sin. If this is not happening, you should rightfully be questioning the validity of your claim to have saving faith. We can look at it this way. Husband A says he loves his wife, and his actions shows the validity of that claim. He may at one time be seduced into having an affair with a woman at work, but because of the validity of his love for his wife, his conscience eats at him, and he regrets what he’s done, confesses it to his wife and seeks her forgiveness. Husband B claims to love his wife also, but his actions don’t manifest it at all. He beats her with the fist once or twice a week, visits prostitutes a few times each month. Both makes the same claim about loving their wives, but their actions either prove the validity of that claim, or disproves it. We can love God and still fall in sin, repent and return to God, or we can claim to live Him, but in reality love our sin and hate having to be obedient to Him. The one plans not to sin and still fails every now and then, but hates it when he does. The other plans to sin and loves doing it.

@@DoulosXristou0 That is very true. The difference is one lives a life of sanctification and repentance and the other does not. Faith without works is dead being alone, this doesnt mean we will never sin but we should certainly sin less then we did before we were saved by God's amazing grace. A Christian will not be sinless but they should sin less!

@Regina Terminello I came to faith when I was 36 from a position of atheism. Some things changed very quickly others are a challenge 15 years later. Lifelong Christians still have their own challenges we are all in the same boat, we all fall short of the glory of God. Fruits don't erupt spontaneously very often they take time to grow. But being a late convert especially someone who comes to that realisation on their own( well not entirely!)has its advantages. Quite often I have queried other Christians about some particular belief and they are unable to tell me where in the bible it is drawn from. Upon doing as the Bereans do I discovered these weren't biblical but traditions of particular Church cultures. You are likely more able to see such things than someone raised in such an environment and this is actually a useful service to other Christians. Jesus was not a big supporter of the traditions of men as I'm sure you know . I am concerned by your comment that 'our own make fun of us' as I have never experienced that at any Church. Perhaps you need to look at how you are communicating or whether the Church fellowship you are in is healthy(See Paul's letters as a start if you aren't sure what that looks like).More 'mature' Christians should be looking to disciple you and help you in your growth not ridicule you. Hope I haven't been too patronising I'm trying to be helpful. May the Lord support and inform your growth in Christ,

@Regina Terminello ah your situation makes a bit more sense now. I live in the UK and know vanishingly little about Native American culture. I have met people here who are of dual heritage or the child of immigrants and they do often feel somewhat alienated from either group. Racism has been a problem for many people and I am sorry ( and angry) that you have dealt with a lot of people who don't want to treat you as ,well, you, but rather as a member of a group. I'm a white chap and absolutely Jesus wasn't. My saviour would have looked like the other Jewish people of his time , probably short and stocky with a dark beard and dark skin. It shouldn't matter but to some it does. If Christians are for some reason ( they shouldn't be given that in Christ there is no Jew or Greek ) not treating you of one of the gang they have some work to do( who doesn't-I can't help but notice I fall short of the glory of God!)) because it sounds like they are not treating you like a sister in Christ or even as a neighbour.It seems odd that people have not wanted to utilise your understanding of Native American Culture ( though I'd guess it might not be a single culture given the many different native nations) as a way in for evangelism. After all Paul was known for using his knowledge of the pagan cultures of the time to find common ground to start from. I did wonder if you were from the US as you had had trouble finding a comfortable Christian family. Not that there is anything wrong with Americans of course but Churchgoing is much more the norm and expected in some places so you tend to find more nominal or cultural Christians . In the UK the vast majority of church attendees are there by positive choice - believe me there is no advantage in churchgoing in the UK as far as the larger population are concerned. I have watched jaws drop several times when workmates asked me about my weekend and discovered I went to Church( good place to start a broader conversation from though). The churches I've attended have all have mixed racial and cultural congregations and I'm not aware of any issues around racism ( not saying there weren't any of course). Native American culture when it is thought of at all tends to be well regarded( back in the 1800s Rachel Rolf was a huge celebrity here and that probably set the stage). In our wider culture the 'racial' divisions are mainly between the primarily Pakistani Muslim community and the white community so we are hardly free from these concerns. Anyway I've digressed widely and I pray the Lord guides you to Christians who will be open to accepting you for who you are.

Bless him. You can see he has a real desire to serve the Lord. I pray he has grown in faith since this was made. This is why discipleship is so important. I went to church for years but really didn't learn anything of importance. It was all "feel good" stuff and never challenged me to look at my life and admit my sin. I'm so thankful God revealed the truth to me. Praise the Lord!

@@n.holt7 @3:58, Christ Blood shed on Calvary's cross. Without the work of the Cross, nobody today is saved IMHO. 1 Corinthians 15:1-4. I think you already knew this, but I look at someone saying 'trust in the Lord' as a general meaning without any specifics. Jesus, during His earthly ministry, never preached the work of the Cross as a good thing for Israel, did he? Peter never knew the Cross was going to be the Gentiles way for salvation, (1 Corinthians 15:1-4). In other words, I could 'trust in Jesus', but if I never knew or believed that His death on the cross for payment for my sins, and His resurrection was the means for my salvation, I would end up in hell. Peace and much Grace!!

I absolutely loved seeing the change in that young man that you had spoken to previously and then had recently run into again on the college campus (he had become a believer in the interim and the change was so visible in his demeanor)! Ray..in Jesus Christ Awesome name..amen..please pray for my nephew J.K...there was an attempted murder on his life on Friday gone..he took 7 bullets..none hit any vital organs..however, 1 penetrated his upper jaw from a 45 degree doward trajectory..and it's pressing against an artery ajecent to his spine..it's compromising the blood flow and thus oxgyen to his brain...as a result his brain is swollen...he's currently in ICU..please ask Jesus to restore him...his mother is a faithful ISCF leader at a High School.

I try to read my Bible everyday. Not always able to do it, but probably 5 days a week, for about an hour or so in the morning. My problem is that as I'm reading it I understand it, and it's clear to me, but later in the day I can't seem to remember what I read, who it was about, or what the message was. What's that all about??

I have a question for you, Ray. I am a born again follower of Jesus Christ. Didn’t I receive a new heart along with salvation? I know I was utterly changed when I was born again. I became very aware and sensitive to sin that I wasn’t before. My desires changed completely indicating to me that my heart was changed. The Bible says God said He was going to give us a heart of flesh for our heart of stone. So as born again Christians don’t we have a new heart?

Not god. God. He knows everything. But it's stored in your memory as well and we forget but God will unlock it when we stand in judgement. But every sin is covered for those who trust Jesus.

Its not about going to heaven...its about coming to know Him...people try saying the gospel is all about you going to heaven..will even ask people "if you die in a wreck tonight, where would you go heaven or hell?" And use the gospel as something that benefits us, instead of telling them that we were created to bring God glory, to be a light in darkness, to shine the face of Jesus in everything we do, to become love not seeking our own, to grow in the knowledge of him, to have intimate relations with Him and that God intended us to have greater purpose than to live for the flesh and so God gave his son to redeem us and bring us back into oneness with Him and make us his children and we are to die to ourselves and seek holiness and perfection through the power of the holy spirit and be declared sinless and spotless in his eyes! Being conformed into the image of his son, becoming saints washed by the blood, not looking back at our old selves and dwelling on adams fall, and how dirty and nasty we use to be because we died with Christ and rose with Christ a new creature and we are to "walk just as he walked" turning away from sin and practice righteousness becoming a slave to righteousness and getting to know Him, and his son Jesus Christ. And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. John 17:3 NKJV

Please stop the commercials between the witnessing clips, it disturbs the flow of the conversations. I have been rewinding back and forth to hear the point that's being made in the conversation. Put it in the beginning or at the of the clips. Simple as that, there is litterally no need put it in the middle and disturb the conversation, normally hecklers disturb conversations, you're not a heckler... C'mon

Just a real quick thing( turned out it was not real quick, and also I am certain that what I have put forth is in proper context of our personal lives.) Neh 8:10 Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength. Also, in what might be taken as somewhat abstract from this post, I also want to express what I also know to be true, and that being, the edge of the Sword of the Spirit, the Word, is a place absent of all error. It is infinitely, and finely honed, but Scripture says that it is plenty wide enough for all followers of Christ, and that it is sure footing, and also high ground upon mountain tops. Scripture says that we can always walk this path, and that the Word is in us , and we are in the Word. Scripture says that we walk by faith and not by sight, or by what we have seen in our past, the past of others, or what the world presents to your sight. Will you believe all of the Word? This has been on my heart and mind all of my walk in Christ. It is true and verified by all of Scripture. The enemy seeks to separate people from God, and to separate His children from all that He has provided. Sin itself is a separation from God's Word. We receive by faith. Faith cometh by hearing, and that by the Word of God. So, by that reasoning, if it isn't preached/ spoken, then faith doesn't come/ grow (or it doesn't grow as much or as fast etc..) We live by faith. We walk by faith...and, the Word is a light unto my path...so faith is not blind, and all of Scripture proclaims, whether directly or indirectly, that we receive from God by faith. And , without faith, we cannot please God. And anything not of faith is a sin. So, here's the thing, just because many have misused the Word, by a word of only "name it and claim it" and a fluffy non-afflicted life, and not affirmed "REPENTANCE"; and that, being the complete ,and daily need of, and conscious act of, REPENT[ing][ance](this includes confession of sin and also the "dying to {old, or false} self" every day) , that does not mean that we are to relinquish any of what Christ has given us, or speak anything that contradicts Scripture. By His stripes we are healed. God must have a plan for your life because He is leading. He is the "head", we are the body. God's Word says, He establishes your steps when you acknowledge Him in all your ways, and gives you the desires of your heart according to Scripture; just make sure you have the Spirit that is Holy, and not just one that wants to lead you around. And anything you ask in His name , by faith, you shall receive. This is repeatedly stated in the gospels and restated in the epistles. In the epistles of Peter, you are to ask and receive " according to His will". And Rom 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the CALLED ACCORDING TO HIS PURPOSE. In other places in Scripture "His will" is spoken of as , something that those in Christ are to seek, and know. His will is not only of a general nature, but also specific to each one of us. Jesus fulfilled over 300 prophecies pertaining to Himself. When He said "it is finished", He was speaking in totallity and generality for all that would receive Him, and also specifically, concerning His specific, personal, life. The testimony of Jesus is the Spirit of Prophecy -Rev 19:10. All born-again believers hav ethe Spirit and testimony of Jesus. Scripture also says in Eph 2:10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. Jhn 19:28 After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst. This corresponds to Psalms 22:15 and Psalms 69:21 Psalm 22:15 My strength is dried up like a potsherd; and my tongue cleaveth to my jaws; and thou hast brought me into the dust of death. {complete Psalm 22 is posted at the end. I really encourage all to read it} Psalm 69:21 They gave me also gall for my meat; and in my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink. Jhn 19:30 So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit. So, it is self-evident that the life of Christ was planned, and thank God for that. His affliction was not what is commonly rekonned as "wonderful", but He took our punishment so that we could have His joy, peace, love, abundant life and all things that pertain to life (even the OT saysPsa 84:11 For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.), favor of God (but seek ye first[and always] the kingdom) , blessed in all ways, more than conquerors, etc. And repentance, refusing the way of the world, is required for all these, because you cannot walk with/in Christ and with the world. We are garaunteed trials, persecution, and affliction, but God works them all for our good, and like Paul, we can joy while in the midst of tribulation, and sing. Scripture also says Eph 2:10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. -----next bit is kind of a side note but is an illustration of my point---please don't let this get your mind off main point---- {To be grounded in the faith is to be seated in the heavenlies, and this has been done in Spirit, is being presently performed in the soul, unto the future perfect visible body. And Christ Jesus has given visible observations of His perfect metaphysical body. Scripture says we shall be as He is, with reference to our individual bodies.} Bottom line is that Jesus does fill you, give you joy, happiness/blessedness, and absolutely has a very wondeful plan for your life that includes many promises. But you receive by faith. Will you seek God's Word , agree, believe, and speak, and receive? 2Co 4:13 And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, “I believed and therefore I spoke,”we also believe and therefore speak, the reference is to Psalm 116:10. In specific context he psalm speaks of deliverance out of affliction and death, and that is also the context of 2Cor. 4:13, but this does not negate all the other Psalms which proclaim the abundance of God both in spirit and all things that pertain to life, ......dare I say it..... even material....[ ...the crowd goes silent...as the enemy mocks] . Abide only in the Word and never limit our unlimited God. Stand firmly upon all of His promises and do His clearly satated obvious will and seek His specific will for your life, just make sure it always lines up with His nature, character, purpose, and Word. Rejoice always, and again I say rejoice! (and always hate evil!) Now go take a break from staring at this screen and read your Bible, speak and do the Word, and refuse any diminishing of it!!! ..and all the people said Amen!...? [..."whoo hoo"... and the crowd went orderly!....] Check out Psalm 69 also. If a person is a Christian and not married but with the same woman and have kids with that person can he and her still go to heaven? I have a family member who gave there life to Christ years ago before they were together but has never gotten married to her. Can anyone help me with this question please? Thanks and GOD BLESS

Hey Ray/livingwaters people, don't you think it could send a leagalistic message by emphasizing that people HAVE to read the bible every day rather than just strongly encouraging them to get into God's word regularly? Couldn't someone think "I'm a bad Christian if I don't read the Bible everyday" rather than "I should spend time with God and in his word because I love him and need to know what He says"?

Chris Bennett What you see as legalistic, I see you as discipleship. Being a Christian means being a disciple (being disciplined). We are in an army. Discipline isn’t optional in an army. Read Ephesians 6:12-20 and see what we are commanded to do. Read Psalm One for God’s promises to those who love His Word and meditate on it daily. I hope this makes sense Chris.
