No, you need to make sure it is tucked right into the corner.

@fenstoncarter I'm a carpenter and I can tell the damage being caused right there. Far too excessive force being used, it could split the timbers, causing the riser to detatch from the tread and weaken it, not to mention the creaking.

Why do you people go down doing steps? If you stapled to bottom then the lip. Then kick it on the tack strip. To get a way better stretch

Thanks for your comment! 😁 Well, I don't know anyone who does it that way. Probably because you can work your way down and out and you don't have to sit on the carpet as you're fitting it? It's like a gravity assist thing. Maybe you could do a video guide to show us?

@12:22 you can see how unbelievably LOOSE the carpet is. Working from top to bottom is a sure sign of a lazy man's way of doing the job. Show me a video of that job in only 6 months and it will have ripples in it. Why didn't you waterfall the landing? I'll tell you why. You are not a pro. Locking the carpet to the pins with a stair tool bends the pins. Not only you didn't kick the carpet on the main strip, you didn't stretch it side to side. I do repair work only now because there are so many of you that are clueless. Bottom to top is more efficient and a better job. Not sure why you backfold your stringer side. You sit when you work...lol. @18:00 I watch as you think you're stretching the carpet down but you are clearly pulling the waste carpet in. Please....stop making these vids.
