This one begins with a MEGA RANT! I was very angry at some truly APPALLING customer service. Being rather vulnerable to such confrontations, I took to my bed for over a week, but luckily a fellow RU-vidr and regular viewer - Julie from HUNGRY BOOKWORM - emailed me a list of four places to visit in LINCOLNSHIRE, so I got back on the horse and set off in search of adventure...
CHAPTERS:
00:00 - Intro
01:38 - Mega Rant
04:44 - The Road to Lincolnshire
05:28 - Tattershall Castle (part one)
08:35 - Driving in Woodhall Spa
13:11 - Kinema in the Woods
16:38 - The Open Road
17:56 - Petwood Hotel
23:26 - Tattershall Castle (part two)
30:26 - Wrap-up and Outro
Special thanks to Julie @Hungry Bookworm for recommending these places, and for being such a caring and lovely friend. 💕😘x

I have to tell you that the Kinema in the woods is a cinema like no other. It is magical and a small piece of beautifully preserved history. Its a true time warp experience executed without any pretence. You would love it.

I'm sure I would. Unfortunately, due to a packed schedule that day I was unable to return, but I do plan on visiting it properly for a romantic night out with my other half, without the cameras rolling. We're both seasoned film buffs, and it really does look like a magical place to enjoy movies. Thank you for watching.

It's a shame about the terrible customer service. It's actually easier and quicker to be nice than it is to be a miserable sod within the CS industry!! Great vlog lots of fun and travel and more tall castles lol Was in stitches from the beginning "Kid falling on arse" lol Living the dream Kit, can't wait until I have my own Van!

Wow, every comment from you picks me right up and makes me feel good about myself. Thank you so, so much! 🤗👍 It means such a lot to get this kind of positive feedback. Yoy know I struggle with my self confidence, but comments like this are what keep me on the road. I look forward to you getting your van. Maybe we can convoy sometime. 😁 Thanks again, good buddy. 10-4. 🤠😘x

Wow such bad customer service! 😱 Contacting the customer service during their business day shouldn't come as a surprise to them... 🤔 Kinema in the Woods looks like a charming little place. I too was expecting to find some screen hanging between trees or something, even though now that I think of it it sounds like a silly idea, I mean, who would leave a screen outside, exposed to weather and vandalism and such. I don't think I've ever heard of the 617 squadron. Petwood Hotel looks beautiful! Gorgeous Tudor-style architecture and such a well-maintained garden area. I'd like to visit that place. The cool basement of Tattershall Castle must've been a relief after all the heat in the van. Oh, you have a bad back? I hope your back is feeling better now!

Do I detect a faint whiff of mockery in the air? Your concern over my broken, twisted, and plague-infested spine is overwhelming. Bastard! 🥰😘x A silly idea? A silly idea? Tell that to the Americans! (who never have silly ideas). Drive-in cinemas, anyone? Anyone? I refuse to be mocked a second time! Swine! 😋🤗😁 Well, at least you didn't ridicule me for getting lost twelve times in a single episode! lol Yes, the hotel was gorgeous, and no doubt I'll be taking Hubby there one day. You too, if you play your cards right! 😉 Now I'm off for a quick scrub. There's a faint whiff of crab in the air. 😲🦀 Happy Monday. 😘x

Great video, pity so much was closed and the rail guy was so rude... a lot of HGVs on the road...

Thanks, Jim. 😊 Well, it was my fault for arriving so early, really. I always forget about opening hours. But it was a good day for driving once the sun came out. And yes, lots of HGVs. It felt like route 66. 😁🤠x

What a pretty drive, are you bothered with ticks (the insect kind) in the woods in England? Lovely garden, Alice amongst the topiaries? Kit, the Maze Runner sequel. Good decision, those stairs look treacherous.
@kitsworld
@kitsworld 2 года назад
Hey, Sus. Thanks for watching. No, we don't get bothered much by ticks or any other bugs really. We have them, but nothing like as bad as in the States. Mostly the worst we have to deal with (and over react to) is occasional flies buzzing around. We don't have screens on our doors and windows, and ticks are rarely seen. 😘x

I love how deep windows are in Castles & Stately Homes. I always imagine you could hide there with a book. 😂 I love your vlogs. I always get lost too 🤣🤣 Enjoy your next trip wherever it takes you 😁

Thanks, Ange. Glad you're still watching. If you have any suggestions of placrs for me to visit, do let me know. Maybe we could meet up and you could show me sonewhere interesting. Anyway, thank you for watching, and yes, I like deep windows too. I always wonder about the medieval bums that may have perched there hundreds of years ago, and what sort of person may have been attached. 😁😘x

So "Willy" has another meaning over here, so when you said you "dusted off your willy" I about lost it 😂 Screw that phone guy!
@kitsworld
@kitsworld 2 года назад
Oh, Sweetie, Willy means penis here too, don't worry, lol. I knew what I was saying. 😉😁🤣 My hubby named the van Willy in honour of a lesbian couple's van which is called Fanny (which means vagina over here). Naughty British humour. 🍆💦😜👍🌈🌈🌈🤠x

Well you got to the castle in the end. Is it me but it seems that very often you seem to turn up to places but it's somehow shut or there's some sort obstacle in your way. Such as height barriers Etc. Do you think they know your coming? Is Google giving them a warning when you put in the directions? 😂😂 Anyway nice jolly video in the end 😂😂
@kitsworld

LOL - Shaun, you're not wrong. It seems to be becoming a tradition for me! 🤣 I think a lot of it is because my Hubby gets up for work at about 3am, so we have our morning together very early and then after he leaves at about 4am I start my day - arriving everywhere waaay earlier than I should. But I'm also pretty sure that there is a vast international conspiracy to make my life just a little bit harder than it needs to be! LOL 🤣 I'm glad you stuck with it until the end, despite the length, and getting off to a grumpy start. Thanks for watching. 😘x

Ugh for the unfriendly customer service person. Yay for Julie 🥰! The castle does look narrow and tall. Ugh mosquitoes. They're one of my least favourite animals ugh. I'm also allergic to some kinds so if those kinds sting me, the bite swells up even more and becomes incredibly itchy. Tuna sandwich yum. Oh ugh I don't like those 'strimmers' (we call them 'striemer' here in NL among my family, though now that I think about it, I've never seen it written down so I'm not sure if we spell is striemer or streamer). Nice to see the 'open road' / England/UK landscape! Oh wow for Julie's granddad being a groundsman at Petwood Hotel. It's a beautiful old building! Ah that makes sense, I didn't know having a favourite wood is a thing. It looks like a lovely place! The garden looks beautiful. Haha oops for getting lost again. Glad you managed to find your way! Nice that the basement is cooler. Aww for being trapped again. Ugh for the heat, it's been hot here too the past while, gladly it cooled down yesterday. Julie's an amazing friend. Great video!!

@kitsworld 2 года назад
Yay for Gaia! An amazing friend too. 🥰💕🌻 I must confess, despite being plagued with strimmers whenever I'm trying to record sound, I do own one myself, and couldn't manage my garden without it. (Confession time: I couldn't manage my garden with it either, since I'm too fat and lazy. I pay a gardener to do it! Shhh lol) 🤣 Gaia, I know you're a way away in NL, but if there are any places you want me to visit, I'd be delighted to devote an episode to you too. I can't make any promises, as most things are time and money-dependant, but I like the idea of regular viewers getting to set the itinerary. What do you think? 🏰🌳 Anyway, as always thank you for watching. See you next week, my friend. 😘x

😘Aww thank you too x. I don't know the UK as well as you and Julie do, but I can have a look around on the internet! I've only been in/to a few places in the UK myself (London, Portsmouth, Oxford, Bath, Bristol and Bovington) (we couldn't drive so we were dependent on public transport and other people's transport), so I can't personally recommend much but I could think about what looks/seems interesting based on the internet. Thank you 😘 x.
