I have already seen talk/posts from Atlanta fans saying that the Falcons will trade Cousins mid season or after the season. Well Kirk has a no trade clause and most teams are pretty well set at QB now and for sure wouldn't want to take on Cousins contract. Now if Kirk gets a season ending injury the Falcons will look like geniuses.

We would’ve done the same. Eventually we would’ve drafted a qb. The best way was to draft this year and let him sit behind Kirk for a year or two.

I can’t understand why Cousins had to sign a huge deal before the end of his career, and go play for a team that doesn’t have a very good defense? The Vikings have an improving defense and it won’t take much to win most of their games this season. To go from 7 wins to 10 or 11 won’t take much for the Vikings to do that. And with the pick the Vikings used to take McCathy they could have taken another WR or OL or a player to help the offense. Or even take another defensive player who would’ve made the Vikings defense even better. Maybe his wife missed her family too much and needed to live in Georgia again? The winters were too harsh for her. I can see that.

Don’t know if it’s even possible to happen but my hunch is that the punishment will be so severe that they needed to take Penix, as in the punish will void the signing and suspend Kirk from playing for Atlanta
