There's something about the spice of life pattern, there's a stamp on the bottom that makes it sell that high. I thought it was crazy thanks for answering my questions, without even asking 😄
Thanks for showing us your most recent treasures. I'm still using the Gemco "Spice of Life" salt & pepper shakers for which you gave me information last year. That Federal bowl is neat!
I loved seeing all your treasures! I wasn't too interested in kitchen items until I started watching your channel. I love Blue Ridge also. I've found a few pieces, never pass it up! The patterns often seems to mix well.
Hi Linda! Awe thanks Linda....yes...I was just saying that to someone! How the patterns mix well together...if I had the room I would start a collection. Just got a comment from Kathryn who has over 200 pieces! Love all the patterns. Found my first piece about a year or so ago and just fell in love...now I can identify just be seeing and always get excited when I do! xo :)
Oh, my gosh, I just about fell out of my chair when you said that those cherry patterned dishes were made in Erwin, Tennessee! My grandfather on my Dad’s side worked at that pottery, at least that’s what Dad told me. I don’t know how long, what he did or what years he was there.
Looking like you are finally feeling better. Those white bowls are almost indestructible, they are a joy to use and so easy to clean. Do you feel that thrift stores are slowly getting expensive? Some of them, like Goodwill are now pricing the ones in good condition such as the Spice of Life for $15!
I am Georgina...thank you :) Yes I do feel that thrift stores are getting expensive. I have seen many pieces at the GW that I could never get selling online...its getting tough and a lot of the stores are going onto ebay and basing their prices on what they see there, that's why I try to buy on half price days xo :)
Hi Michelle. You found so many great pieces. That white carnival bowl was outstanding. My personal favorite is the unique Federal bowl with the kitchen utensil pattern. I would've snatched that up quickly. I love Federal glass, it doesn't seem to have the popularity of Fire King or Hazel-Atlas. Best wishes from Ky.
Hi Sharon! Thank you...I have always been a big fan of Federal...some of the atomic patterns are very collectable and sell well...that pattern I have never seen...people keep telling me its "Homestead" but I know that is not the homestead pattern...xo :)
Hi Michelle, thank you for your videos. i have learned so very much by watching. Like you I thrift on the east coast of Florida, Fernandina Beach to Daytona for me.
Hey Michelle! So many beautiful things. You know I have a cornflower collection. I have incorporated some gemco with it. I don't have good luck finding green depression glass. I just love everything! TFS ♥️
I have a nice collection of uranium glass and it's always the most fun when I least expect to see it some place. ;-) You always have the eye for the gorgeous stuff! I love it when you post your videos, I so look forward to them!
Thanks CJ...I just listed both of them today...spent the day listing. I put the bowl front and center on my shelf in the living room to enjoy until it sells...wish I could keep most everything lol...xo :)
I wanted to ask you about the green votive cup. I see them so often in different colors but I don't understand how they're used. Is there another piece that they fit into? I also love the Blue Ridge. When we bought our house in the '80s, I found a large box of the dishes in the old chicken coup. Don't know why it was there! Years later it was the first thing I sold on eBay. I enjoy seeing the different patterns at garage sales. Thanks
You’re going to make me do it. I’m going to Salvation Army tomorrow. I did go to your Facebook page and sent pictures of what I bought, but I didn’t see it posted.
WOW that’s crazy Spice of Life pattern is my wedding pattern I have So much of it That was the pattern from 1978 was my wedding shower got married March of 79 I Could Be A Millionaire 🤣🤣🤣
Unusual haul! Love the white carnival glass...have never seen that before! Pretty! Your round green plate goes well with the uranium glass pitcher and your other green items! Thanks for showing us!
Love the Smith bowl. Reminiscent of a very heavy lead crystal bowl (except for the iridescence) that my father-in-law gave to my mother-in-law way before WWII in Germany, which I still have. BTW, still haven't had a chance to take photos of those Occupied Japan items I told you about. Glad you're feeling better. XOXO
@@thrifting101...identifybuy3 LOL! LIke minds! I bought the Corn flower casserole dish from you a while ago and Perry dropped it. He felt so bad!! I may have to get the spice of life casserole dish to replace it!! We use all of our Pyrex.
He did???? Well you just send me a message...I have a few other pieces too! I remember when you bought the cornflower and I also remember when you "liked" the little tin on my table :) 3 years ago???? xo :)
Thanks Cheril....They are part of my personal collection and just love to look at them all the time...I have had a lot of people comment on them and I will talk about them probably in my next video xo :)
Hi Michele, just recently started watching you. I too am from Ct and live in Barefoot Bay, Fl. Realized you were local when you mentioned the Sebastian thrift store. You mention a lot of thrift stores I've never heard of. I'm taking notes, maybe I'll see you there! Love your information on all your finds.
Hi Linda!! Welcome aboard!!! Funny we are both CT transplants! CM's mother just sold her home in Barefoot Bay...where in CT are you from? Lots of Donofrio's there!!! xo :) We should meet up sometime :)
@@thrifting101...identifybuy3 I was transplanted to waterbury. Army brat here, dad was from waterbury and moved us there when he went to Vietnam in 66. And yes, lots of Donofrios, especially in the New Haven area..I married into the family. Would love to meet up. No one I know has my interest in glassware. Not into pyrex, but I love colored and handpainted glassware.
Love the iridescent carnival glass bowl. I worked an estate sale this past weekend and was gifted several treasures including a depression cherry blossom oval platter and many other things. The clear glass was not for sale and the gal removed from the house for me. She is gifting those pieces to me. I gave her all the paper money in my wallet. She said she wouldn't take it. I said "fine" and handed her a wad of cash from my pocket that I had collected and told her if she could find the exact bills, I would take them back. That was the end of the conversation. I have no idea what I gave her, but most of the cash in my pocket was from sales. She's a dear sweet girl.
I went to my RU-vid to watch some videos, and saw this in my recommendations. I completely missed the notification, I'm sorry. Such great pieces! I have a handled Slice of Life bowl that I love, and I can't wait to be able to make a collection. The trinket box is adorable! Lovely Jeanette bowls; very funny, and charming mug; I simply adore those Cherry Cobbler pieces, and that carnival glass bowl IS gorgeous 😍 It's a shame for both of us I'm so broke, but my fiance, his twin brother (they're pretty much inseparable), and I will be getting a house together sometime this year, and then I will finally get to buy more wonderful pieces from you 😄 I hope you're feeling better. Wishing you a marvellous Monday ❤
Hi Addie!!! Awe you are so sweet!! I wish you and your fiancé much happiness in the future and let me know when you get that house so I can send you a house warming gift!!! Much love xo :)
@@thrifting101...identifybuy3 Thank you so much 😊 That is very kind of you, and I really appreciate it 😃. I will be sure to let you know; it'll probably be sometime in the Spring. Much love back to you 💖
Hi Michael, I just saw one in a thrift store and checked comps. Someone sold one for $900 . When I checked it out the information wasn't available. I honestly don't know what's going on there.
I love that Federal bowl - so fun to see a teapot featured in the design! I have only found ONE Federal mixing bowl out thrifting (the larger Sunflower bowl). I have no idea why I don't see it more often around here, but I like the shape of the bowls better than Fire King and Pyrex, if I'm honest! 😉
Michelle, there is an unbelievable glassware video on the wbob O channel. It is beyond comprehension. It is a 50 min. very organized basement tour (50,000+ pieces). Check it out if you have a chance.
You found some beautiful pieces! If I may pick your brain... I have two pieces of of the Iris and Herringbone in marigold. One is a round butter dish, the other is a platter or cake plate. Any chance that they are reproductions? Thank you in advance for any information that you can provide. Sounds like you are finally over your cold! ❤️
Hi Lisa! The Iris and Herringbone you have were made in the late 50's-60's...I don't think they are repros...look for a website called repo or not...good info to be found there....The butter dish!!! lucky you and thanks feeling much better xo :)
Sophia of Y T channel MY GREAT CHALLENGE has a collection of both uranium glass and Spice of Life. My favorites of this haul are the Iris and Herringbone, but truthfully I loved everything. Will share this, as usual. I’ve been a huge fan of Mary Engelbreit’s art. I try to emulate her style when I find time to draw. I have an unusual millennium Engelbreit piece that my daughter gave me. I’ll PM you a photo of it. Hard to believe, but the millennium was 19 years ago! Love ❤️ from Iowa, and thanks to C M, ~ Lori ~
Loved the video. Ive seen posts on FBMP for cornflower blue and spice of life for $500. Saying how RARE. That fake report that was all over Facebook has a lot to do with those insane post. Happy Sunday Michelle!!
Where do you sell your items? I would like to but the green Feroy, I believe is the name. And, I cant believe your Goodwill sold that for 99 cents! In California that would have been at least $5
It is such a pretty color! it is like a shade..it goes on a "holder" made for pegged votive cups. I don't have any myself, but pick them up whenever I see em as they are always good sellers, never really run into the Faroy though, usually Homco xo :)
