This is amazing. My favourite pianist since I heard him play Liszt in Manchester UK when I was 15 years old. I was a Saturday morning student at the then Royal Manchester College of Music (now Northern).
Gorgeous story , very moving too . Volunteer in Cziffra's fondation , Soleika Cziffra was as my mother . Since this magic time , music is all my life , my spiritual food , my best support too . Warmest memories .
Good Lord, what a hard life, such terrible times to have to bear….it takes the saying, “To whom much is given, much will be required” (Luke 12:48):to insane levels, because the quality of Cziffra’s playing was off the scale. Hungary has produced some incredible composers and musicians in the 20th century, and as for pianists, to have been the homeland of Cziffra and Radu Lupu is almost too much for one century, lol!
One of the greatest pianist and one of the greatest Hungarian!
