Mike sure had a generous boss; pays for the whole family to come to Hawaii on his business trip, pays for the whole family to come to Cincinnati; takes the whole family out on his fishing boat, buys the Bradys a pool table.
Fascinating trivia fact Robert Reed did take out the whole cast on a cruise to London in 1972 so you could say he was just like the father in the Brady Bunch only in real life!
@@waverider227 he loved those kids like they were his own. They are the only children he would ever "have". So, in essence, he was a father and a great family man. God rest Robert Reed's soul ❤️😔
yes, Professor Hubert Whitehead was the perfect mix of scary and sweet. The character name was a tribute to his movie "The Fly", whose character mixed with a fly giving it a "white" head🪰
The early to mid 1970s had some unattractive clothing styles and prints that are very dated now. I recall them and wouldn't wear them again but every fashion season always has limited choices. Like wine, some years are better than others.
I've been to the USS Arizona. A somber place. Oil still seeps from within the ship. They're called Tears of the Arizona. It is said the ship will continue to cry until the last crewmember is gone. As of today, only two such men remain. Those that survived the inferno that day are granted special permission to be cremated and interned within the Arizona. Those that had served on the Arizona prior to her death are allowed to be cremated and their urns placed on the ship but not within. The Arizona burned for two and half days. When the fires were finally extinguished, salvage crews found the deck strewn with spent shell casings for the 3" AA guns, whose barrels were turned towards the sky. Proof she went down fighting.
No their Bones are put within , usually in the X / #4 Barbett where the Big Guns sat at the Stern. nearly all the about 1,000 out of the 1,177 that were Killed on Her their remains are mostly forward , the majority up front. especially the front of the Ship to amidship and in the Engineering / Engine Rooms. Divers did a pretty good search during Salvage from the Stern up to the Rear Engine Rooms and removed any Bodies they found.
Crazy to think about the perspective of those 80 years - when the Bradys when in 1972, the attacks were only 31 years earlier. That'd be the equivalent of 1990 today. I happened to be at Pearl Harbor this year for the 80th anniversary. It was mind blowing to see and listen to the some of the survivors there for the occasion. Probably the last time I'll have the opportunity see and listen to a Pearl Harbor survivor.
Yes, I felt the genuine respect for those men also in remembrance at that moment Mike read the plaque. It was very touching. Even though I was not physically there, I got to express my gratitude too
a small shot? I think they did a great history presentation about the attack, Battleship Row, the kings, the superstitions and cultures. It was very informative and respectfully entertaining 🤔
@@typhonsentra ?.....I still learned more about Hawaii from this short episode than any of my history teachers talked about in class when I was growing up. Good enough for me🤗
I was born at Triple hospital in 1959. We moved to Panama in 1964 and we're stationed at Ft. Clayton. We Moved to Chicago in 1965. I last seen my dad leave for Vietnam Dec.1965 Oh are airport. He never made it back. January 1966 we moved to Waihiwa, Hawaii for several months. Than to Kaneohe.
Yeah, and Alice was so confident as part of the family that she immediately jumped for joy along with everyone else. (Mr. Brady: "Shit, I was going to leave Alice to watch the house, but now I HAVE to take her along!") 🤣
This and their Grand Canyon trip, and Samantha Stevens’ trip to Salem, Massachusetts were examples of promotional efforts by tourism bureaus. The travel and hospitality businesses and/or state governments pay to bring the cast and crew to film an episode. In return, part of the plot highlights the fun things that lure travelers. A good deal for all.
Was there this past Spring, and it is so moving, especially that they now also have a small memorial for the names of those who served on the Arizona and survived that day, but have since passed away and been interred by the Navy in the ship with their shipmates! Last date of internment is 2021. I believe there is only 3 or 4 left, and only one is slated for internment, the others designated to be buried with their family. Though less famous, if you go, give a salute to the USS Vestal, and USS Nevada..
I think it was Florence Henderson who said how much fun they had making these three episodes to the point where it did not even feel like they were working.
This is from "Hawaii Bound" my favorite episode of The Brady Bunch. "Pass the Tabu" is the next one, and that's a favorite among the remaining cast members.
Thank you for putting this on RU-vid. They have these episodes on paramount plus but they failed to put episode one of the Hawaii episodes on paramount plus. So weird that they didn’t put all the episodes & the quality sucks too!! Not on here though. Excellent quality!!
Thank you for watching! That really annoys me too. They're missing almost 30 episodes when you stream it. I have a DVD box set which has all of the episodes from the series, if you're a big enough fan or still have a DVD player 😂
To this day, if I'm reading or watching something that doesn't just say Pearl Harbor but mentions the specific date, I hear Mr. Brady which I feel bad about because I laughed my ass off about this delivery when I first saw it. I'm a huge history buff so it doesn't take away any of the significance or tragedy of the event but it's just extremely weird that this particular thing has stuck with me from watching reruns on TVLand as a child.
I REMEMBER THIS EPISODE. WITH THE BRADY BUNCH CAST . I WISH I WAS THERE WITH THE CAST. PEARL HARBOR. NAVY BOATS. THE ARIZONA WAS ATTACKED. SO SAD 😔. SO MANY YOUNG SAILORS LOST THEIR LIVES. SO SAD 😔. SINCERELY KATHLEEN CONE APOPKA FLORIDA
really Tim, roll your tongue back in your mouth. Maureen McCormick was just a young girl, definitely not 18! Shame on you! How would you feel about men looking at your little girl that way?!
The brady bunch is a good show, I enjoyed watching it every week but not very safe with all 8 of them in one car. It would of been better and safer if they travelled around Hawaii in a van or a minibus
Actually, his naturally curly hair was straightened for the show, but the humidity in Hawaii made that impossible. For the remainder of the series, his hair was allowed to be curly. I personally think he looked better with his hair straight.
@@goldenlass9488 yeah I liked the straight look better. He looked older with the curly hair. The episode started at the Brady house and Reed still had straight hair. When they got to Hawaii it was curly. Lol
2022 Rules forever I'm Greg Brady and all the rock n roll singer s they play on Kool 108 forever promise to god. Steve Fikes Hank Williams Sr and all the country singer s they play on k102 forever promise to god. Metallica and Rock n roll forever 👍. Bye 👋 now 😀😷♥👍.
10 in that wagon? Hmmm, thinkin no. So funny. Like a clown car. And I bet some of the national lampoon vacation series mocks this! “See kids, it’s haunted and and evil and taboo…” so funny
@@laurakibben4147 I apologize. My mistake. When I posted my original comment I mistakenly posted here when I meant to post it on another clip from the movie A Very Brady Brady Sequel which was a sequel to The Brady Bunch Movie both of which where set in the 90s my mistake and once again I apologize
Back in 1972 it was a Dream vacation to visit Hawaii. The cost of living was better back than. Honolulu, Hawaii is No. 1 on the Top ten cities as the most expensive in the U.S.
She is wearing one in the outrigger canoe. Wish it was more clearer but if you slow it down and pause it you can see it. Rather skimpy top from what I can make out.
the 70s gave us long straight hair, tube tops, and tight jeans with bell bottom flair. since we were all still commanded to "play outside" almost no one was obese yet. Those were the days
