Hi Only just seen your comment, They are a really nice family, If they are not too busy with work, they are only too happy to spend time with you. I don't know if you watch The Yorkshire Auction House, Which is only up the road, Angus is one of the nicest guys you could ever meet, going there is really a great day out, you can have a look at the auction, and then go to the Gavel & Bean cafe and have a lovely meal. No I am not sponsored by them Haha!!!
Nice little tour - next time head a couple of miles to see the cars at Mathewsons site in Pickering. Great fish and chips in Thornton le Dale by the way!
Bangers & cash watched every episode God knows how many times , never get tired of this program, love it and everything about it , Petrol head i have Redex running through my veins used to be Castrol R at one point ☝️
Ahh the heady aroma of Castrol R, Once smelt NEVER forgotten Always reminds me of the IOM TT in the 1970s. Glad you enjoyed the Vlog. I will be there in December so I will post another, thanks for taking the time to reply, it means a lot
I was on a holiday in Yorkshire in 2016 and drove through Thornton without knowing that Matthewson's existed (probably before the TV series had started). My first reaction to the time-capsule look was "wait - what??" - I stopped, had a good look around and rated it the discovery of the day...
If you keep going straight on that road where you started you head to another little village called Pickering. Just before Pickering youll see an Premier Inn and just besides that is where Matthewsons keep their cars 👍
Yes there is plenty of parking, If you get to the traffic lights after you have passed Mathewson's on your left, Turn right at lights and there is parking on your left
I am sure you are right. I was an avid watcher of Heartbeat and remember it in an episode. It was the best programme on TV , Stayed in Goathland a few times at the Mallyon Spout, Wonderful place
