Where is the injection well in location to the oil well. A study of the geological area will find a way to make this well very productive even today.

Why doesn't it use the gas to run its engine instead of the flare?

seems it might be more worth trying to bottle that gas or pipe it somewhere or use it for an engine of some kind.
