A visit to RMS Titanic 

It's uncanny how this guy is totally confident in this vessel's abilities despite all the red flags... kind of reminds me of that "unsinkable" vessel that didn't need lifeboats.

Thankyou for the titanic footage. Didn't cost me 250k and I'm still alive, and sat comfortably in my chair watching in high definition.

When I clicked on this video, I didn't know it was about OceanGate. So I was shocked when I saw Stockton Rush suddenly appear. Knowing what we know now, this video had some foreshadowing.

It's really a miracle that it made it to the Titanic in the past.

This is how I enjoy these things. Safely at home or travelling in HD and hopefully we enjoy it all in 8k next time. I love documentaries. I'm adventurous too but life is just too precious to go down there without many many hours of thought and preparation. Seeing all the facts laid before me I would never ever put myself nor my worst enemy in there. RIP to those who perished.

The woman crying for the 3 canceled expeditions is something that makes you feel the damn chills. Sometimes it's a sign you shouldn't be there when your guts aren't hinting you there's something shady to happen.

The ocean is terribly unforgiving of errors and misjudgement. My heart really goes out for that young man who was apparently terrified of making this trip, but did it to please his father.

The fact someone could see the sub in person, read the waiver and what it specifically says and still sign on the line and go down is crazy

I remember watching this. When he said he got some of the parts from camping world I was amazed at the ridiculousness of this operation and I couldn’t understand why anyone would risk their life going on this thing.

The gal cried and stated that her trip down to the Titanic was cancelled 3x times. This was actually a BLESSING in disguise.

I was under the impression this submersible was more secured with more advanced technology similar to the submersibles previously used in Titanic expeditions. Watching this after hearing about this sub being lost at sea with 5 people shows this was an accident waiting to happen.

This guy was more interested in being inspirational than hiring the best people. All the people that told him this was unsafe he fired. I feel sad for the passengers especially the Dad and son

With an average descent rate of 73 feet per minute (and assuming loss of communication is when the implosion occurred) the Titan was 7,720 feet deep and 4,780 feet from the ocean floor. The pressure at that depth is 3,343psi. It happened in a fraction of a second. There was no suffering.

You couldn’t have paid me 250k to even think of setting foot in that death trap. Truly terrifying. I feel awful for their families going through this right now.

I'm just glad the lady who saved up for 30 years was able to finally get her experience and didn't end up on the one that was lost. I thought being buried alive would be the worst way to go, but this is a completely new level of nightmare fuel. I hope they are rescued, but I don't even know how such a thing would be possible tbh.

The absolute top tier red flag here is when he says "everything else can fail". At 6000psi and 13000ft under, NOTHING is allowed to fail. Any single failure can mean death. That statement alone makes it clear he is _completely_ unqualified to lead this kind of effort.

It was good summersible but not built for multiple dives, its amazing how much pressure this summersible withstand and came back in one piece after so many visits

Gotta love the way they seal the vessel with a battery-powered impact. It's not like going to the bottom of the ocean requires any kind of precision engineering or anything...

2:40 Well, that waiver says it all. That submersible was completely improvised. There were no redundancies or safety features, and it was terribly claustrophobic. Honestly, the thought of going that deep is in itself terrifying, but doing so in a plastic tube steered with a game control is simply crazy. As a bare minimum, a proper submersible ought to have a conventional ballast system, using water as ballast and compressed air to release it and float back to the surface. Two lines, one for communication and a cable to allow the mothership to recover the vehicle in case of malfunction ought to be mandatory. The Titanic is remembered not only because it was the largest and most luxurious ship in the world, but also because safety was not a priority. Corners were cut when it came to lifeboats and iceberg warnings, leading to tragedy. People should have learned the lessons from the Titanic, instead of turning it into a tourist attraction and making the same mistake all over again. If I were to visit the Titanic, safety would be the first thing on my mind. There's no way I would have boarded this craft which was almost put together with duct tape.

So in this interview 4:00 he said that everything can go off, but as long as pressure vessel is good, there is nothing to worry about... And then it was the pressure vessel that failed.

Can you imagine how lucky this reporter feels to be alive today? He even expressed his concerns over the construction of the sub in the video, and Rush just brushes them off. Its scary to see his hubris that ultimately got himself and 4 others killed.

One thing is for sure, That ship will never be alone. 😢

There is another video, 11 years old by now, where it is criticised that some visitors actually land on the ship and damage it, leaving trash behind etc. This is a graveyard. It shouldn't be commercially exploited.

The titan lost communication with the base ship SEVERAL times before the ultimate tragedy happened. This is insane, how can someone be that irresponsible?????

After watching this, it is not suprising to me that the submarine has gone missing. So many things could go wrong... I hope they're able to find them before it's too late.

Other than no way of knowing the submersible's position when communication is lost, the parts from Camping World, the video game controller, 96-ish hours of oxygen, no emergency distress beacon, and no certification.....it's completely safe.

Seeing this video really brings thought to how dangerous of a risk the submersible vessel is, that’s missing.

I'll bet David is looking back on this experience and he's thankful he survived this event. I'm surprised that sub managed to have 1 successful expedition with all of the red flags surrounding it. These people entrusted their lives in a metal tube that you can't get out of, have hardly any room to move around in, and it was piloted by a videogame controller. What a sad, senseless, and unnecessary way to die. I hope it was quick for all of them.

I went on a submarine tour in Hawaii.... by the time we got to the bottom....I was SO NERVOUS!!!! I started regretting it and my heart started beating so hard it was hurting my ears...I just wanted to cry....I was so afraid but didn't want to let it overwhelm me. I just wanted to get back to the top!! I can only imagine how they feel 😭😭😭😭 especially running out of air and being in something so small!!!!!!

And to think, he did make it back to the Titanic this summer. A haunting statement if ever there was one. Wow, it truly amazes me that with everything that was wrong with this vessel, people were still anxious to spend huge amounts of money and to put their trust in someone who obviously didn't value their life.

I've never heard someone say "it shouldn't take a lot of skill" and that "the thrusters can break" when describing a submarine that goes deeper than anything anyone has ever built before, so I'm not surprised things went badly
