I agree with you about the performance. However, the piece was originally scored for two recorders and in this performance the recorders were replaced with mandolins. It is possible there are people who object to that.
@@victorlloyd5271, not quite. The mandolins were always part of the concertino section; the two recorders would have been in the place of the pan pipes and oboe. But then, there should also have been two theorbos instead of the guitars and two chalumeaux instead of the basset horn and bassoon. However, the performance is still great fun, so anyone who doesn't like it is either a grump or a philistine.
Thanks so much, Elena, for uploading this zesty wake-'em-up music! Just the thing to revive me after hours of numbing meetings and office chatter! Yes, I agree with those who would enjoy more of this on your RU-vid channel; I would even buy it on DVD. Best wishes to you and Denis on your careers and family.
But Stravinsky also said sarcastically that Vivaldi only composed a single music repeated endlessly. I intended to say that this piece is like a synthesis of Vivaldi's work, because of the use of varied instruments. And this concert is magnificent.
Elena, I do not know how inspiring your ensemble is to me. As a physician among a family of musicians, I am too busy to play myself. I need something to relax and inspire me after long hours of patient care. This is medicine for this doctor's soul. How can I get a CD of these performances?
When i See your Videos then i check that the most likes are at Vivaldi's Music ! Perhaps you must produce more Vids with Vivaldi's Masterpieces? Winter,Gloria, Laetatus 607 etc.etc.etc ...you also need a Chorus ! I Think in Russia it is no Problem because their a lot of good Musicans ! I wish you only the best...and good Luck with Antonio !
Does anyone know the name of the instrument next to the two guitars?. The third musician from right to left. And just to be sure, the wind insturments are two recorders, an oboe and a basson, am I right?
@@Rik77 I agree, it is a bass recorder and there are pan pipes between the violins and oboe. The chalumeau has a reed with a ligature, but the mouthpiece of this instrument is definitely for a recorder.
The piece is beautiful, but I have a problem with their interpretation of the first part. I'm sorry, but this is not allegro molto as it should be, it is not even moderato. Where did the dynamics of Vivaldi go ? Go for the Fabio Biondi version, which renders the piece perfectly - though it is not in true C major.
