Wow I’m so proud of you! I just watched your vision board from 2019 and you accomplished all of your goals for this year exceedingly! I pray God continues blessing you and your fiancé abundantly in the new year 😊 thank you for being a positive black role model. We need more of those and you’re serving us all of the success!
YOU ARE GENIUS! A Vlog on how to Vlog!!! CHILLLLLEEEE. But yes it is alot of work, its one of the hardest videos for me because I want to edit it nicely. Thanks for all the tips!
I enjoy watching VLOGS and also take notes while watching them so that mine can improve. BUT HONEY!!!!!!!! I am so glad I found you. I feel like I need pay for all the gems you just dropped. Thank you for sharing these important details with us so that we too can be successful. I am going to be FOREVER grateful! You have gained a new subbie :)
I’ve been binge watching your videos all day! I love them so helpful and inspirational! I started recording a pregnancy vlog but found myself not knowing what I’m doing lol this was super helpful!
The tip i need to work on right now is the initial start of VLOG and using the content I have recorded to edit and upload. I find the editing process intimating and overwhelming.
First time I've ever commented on RU-vid. But you are a GOALD MINE :) Thank you for being a true role model and reliable source for quality information!
I haven’t found one yet if you have it but if you don’t, can you please do a video on how you edit your videos, what tools/app you use, where you get the music, how you get the cute overlay in the beginning? I’d love to see that
Great video! Really informative, thanks! I’m a vlogger and things I’ve learned I need to work on is eye contact, having valuable content and angles. Thanks again for this video. I also love the idea of having the three points at the beginning of the video. I think that’ll help me to stay organized throughout the day as I vlog. 🥰
Even if you set out to do something and it doesnt work out, thats a part of the story kinda. A story is a character who wants something, tries to get it....they succeed or fail and then how they feel about it or what was the impact. At least thats what I have gathered over the many months of watching tip videos
When she said I’m gonna go Christmas shopping 🛍 wanna go with me?! My face lit up and I was like Yes!! 🙄 totally forgot I was being taught I gotta do better. ☺️😁 Thxs Sis
Great stuff! Thanks so much for sharing. I started a motivational podcast ( The Cleveland Show ) and soon a YT channel as well. I've done allot of homework on vlogging and your channel is pure VALUE! I can see the hard work and dedication you put into your craft. It is truly inspiring and educational. Your videos are so AWESOME! Thanks again!
Great Topic! My channel has grown but I STARTED with. Christmas vlogs but now the new year is coming in so I’m not sure if my audience will not be interested!🙁
You can do vlogs about how to prepare for the new year , How to do budget spending Or how to plan your year Goals Challenges and more. Do hope this helps ❤️
Trying to learn how to vlog. It's a journey. Not an easy one. I just need my channel to grow. Thank you. Definitely gonna work on all the advice you gave.
Stay consistent and create ever green content with vlogs you want to make sure you incorporate some type of searchable topic it makes it way easier for people to find you
I definitely need to work on adding value to my vlogs but also planning it out. For so long I've just been vlogging whatever would come to mind that day and you made me realize that I need to structure it out a bit more! Give people a beginning, middle, and end!
My question is how do I EDIT the vlog. Cause I always feel like I end up with SOOO much footage and them IDK where to start (which I'm literally about to comb through right now... )
Watch all the footage and mark the time frames of the most interesting and relevant parts. Cut out the umms and ahhs and unnecessary explanations then watch the footage again. Keep cutting down on anything you think doesn't add so much value to the audience. You don't want people to run from your vlogs when they see the long time loop. One tip is to see yourself as your audience. If you were a random person on RU-vid, would you give your time to watch all of that stuff if someone else put it out? Give the vlog a break say a day or two and then come back to watch it. You'd have a fresh perspective of things and possibly see more stuff you need to cut out.
You have to figure out your editing ”style.” definitely cut out the dead space and ums. Watch your favorite vloggers so you get inspiration to figure out what style you would like to do. And then just start doing it. You'll figure it out and start learning by doing.
Start with the question....what do I want to do / accomplish today. Pick the most interesting thing that your viewers might enjoy and film around that. Example: I need to get a hard drive I need to get a hard drive, why because my hard drive is about to crash, and I could lose my footage....then end with, you got the thing you wanted and how do you feel. Vlog complete. You may have gotten food or went to target in the process and you can sprinkle in a clip or two of that but the main thing is have a "story: Beginning, middle, end. Someone (you) wants something and what they did to get it. Another example would be, You want to try a new recipe....same thing. You want to try this new recipe, why...because its suppose to be fire....but are you going to do it well.....then the end would be how it turned out. Try to focus on one thing to make the video about.
Hit It Dee I agree with what was said before me. What I also found helpful was to make a shot list or a list of things you want to film so instead of recording at random you know when to film and when to turn it off.
Yes! You should make one about feeling that way. I totally know what you mean and I know everyone else does. You've probably found a video for it already. It Takes guts though I totally agree! I feel like I'm acting arrogant and narcissistic every time people see me videoing myself. But this video just goes to show you that it is not arrogant and narcissistic. It can be very helpful to other people to show them your life and how you go about doing things.
The tip I am going to work on the most is the show and tell. I try to talk them through whateva I did and don't show enough I think. The B-Roll is where I need to incorporate more.
I have binge watched "EOD" like crazy!! Such good information! You always speak so well, and yes you paint a picture (even when you're chewing) but I love your interaction with the camera and your audience....
Girl! I don’t know what happened to my story telling skills after college. I majored in media communications. Then started teaching. I’m going back to my drawing board, literally! With my shits mapped out, wide, close, medium, what shots I want. You have revived this media cocotiger! Thank you. Peace and love!
My aim when I started my channel has always been to be a vlogger. Sit down videos are cool but I prefer watching vlogs and find people’s lives just interesting. I just need a better vlogging camera and confidence to vlog in person.
That's why your "day in a life" vlogs are so much interesting... And we really feel your day like it was ours... I deeply appreciate your "day in a life" videos. Keep up the good work.
Erin, I have a slightly weird question. When it comes to vlogging I feel like my space does not reflect my personal style or who I am. I can't really help this because I just moved back in with my parents while I'm figuring out my next moves. And the place just doesn't reflect me and I don't know how I feel about showing that on camera. Am I overthinking this?
Biggest thing with getting your videos in search results is making sure they are ranking by using the correct keywords (download tube buddy), and that you have enough vlogs so that the RU-vid algorithm will know to recommend your videos in those keyword searches.
I love your videos, I started my youtube last week after binge watching all your videos. I've already got 200 subscribers and 2,000 views in 1 week of 2 videos. So I'm excited whats to come.
I really need to learn how to upload videos and edit them so my videos can be crisp like yours. I posted some videos on my page and barely get 1 view. I've been on RU-vid since 2010 or 2011 I believe. 🤦🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️
Thanks for these tips. it makes more sense as to what you are saying especially the showing instead of tell...im a beginner so i can take all of the advice you just gave. Thank You!
I need to work on everything you said, I really love vlogging and I do feel bad when I do a vlog and it’s crappy and people don’t like it, so I started to research on how to make my vlogs better and I came across your videos
Let’s take a moment to acknowledge that the job and art form you are teaching is about didn’t exist 10 years ago. It’s crazy how far everything on social media has come. Thanks for this video, it helps so much.
How many people are on your team? It seems like so much time. Are you married? Do you have children? How long does it take to edit your videos on average?
