This one is the Lewis Iron Blast Furnace located on Pinelog Wildlife Management Area Stamp Creek In Bartow County GA. Pool furnace, Fire-Eater Furnace, and a short walk down stream to Guthrie Creek is the Bear Mountain Furnace. Many other stone cupola furnaces located in Bartow County most likely built in the 1830's and destroyed by General Sherman in 1864 can be found. Not sure about cannon balls, that would be more of a foundry rather than a Smelter. Smelting mostly takes place in a blast furnace to produce pig iron, that later can be turned into steel.
