he actually said in an interview worse that mostly he sleeps well but sometimes since his life is centred around the study of sleep, it can be difficult not to overthink it, hence, a lack of sleep
What he did was wrong, I mean those graphics thats what things look like when your brain is melting. 2:00 She could have avoided that red bubble. And thats not how dreams work, the red bubbles are much smaller and they dont vibrate when everyone is talking at once after you've taken that windy noodle path. They should not have done that. Lol
how come when i have a dream and i wake up, i see my surroundings but i see a little portal of my dream floating, and if i stare at it i will get sucked into that dream again?
@@humility-righteous-giving Yeah, it's really weird, often times that dream is a nightmare so I avoid looking at it. Is it normal to see someone at the side of ur bed when u wake up too? It was a demon just standing there watching me sleep, scared the he'll out of me. But IDK if that's normal...
What they did with that person trying to walk through those hallways or windows was wrong. Thats not fair to your brain. 2:00 You are not allowed to just stick to and then ride on a red bubble in your mind. There not for transportation loading and unloading your cares, she abused the red bubble system. 0:55 Its her own fault, she left this planet once she took those stairs off her mind.

I screwed my shoulder up somehow last week. Man it hurt. I was going through other non-related pain as well...and for a couple of days in a row I ended up sleeping for 12+ hours and it was blissful. The second night of 12+ my shoulder pain completely went away and I was so grateful! I use to fight sleep so hard. I hated it! Now I love my sleep and often drift off embracing it and appreciating it. That point when I start drifting after a long day...can feel legit magical. Very euphoric sometimes!
Sleep helps control our metabolism and weight, promotes stable moods, helps prevent cardiovascular diseases, boosts our immune system/function, increases knowledge retention, and helps us with long and short-term memory. Sleep is also essential for brain functioning.❤

@@FabstaPizza wow that doesn't happen to me... maybe it's because you weren't fully awake and your brain was half asleep still, and when you focus on the dream, you just fall back asleep allowing your mind to pick up where you left off? Idk man that's kinda cool though.
I get 8-9 hours every night. I never get sick amridiculously healthy, and it's not from other lifestyle factors (e.g. diet) being stellar. I'm convinced good regular sleep is the reason. It's importance cannot be overstated.
I was hoping to hear also about the stage of sleep in which the brain is cleaned of toxins. I think this is an underacknowledged phenomenon that has tremendous effect on our mental well being.
My school showed my year group Matt Walker's Ted video a year or two ago. A fascinating, funny and slightly scary video. Glad you're working together with this new series!
I'm hoping to implement a positive bedtime routine of Think about something that I'm looking forward to the next day. Look at content in the evening that helps me at peace and helps relaxes me Make a gratitude list and why I"m appreciative of it. Be intention about my state of mind and how I decide to approach my surroundings. I'm curious to hear if anyone else has an evening routine and what it consists of.
Watched this video on sleep to procrastinate going to sleep. Maybe I should watch that tedtalk on procrastination that's in the recommended under this video
I got lost in the end. What kind of sleep is more important? NREM or REM? AFAIK, NREM, especially the deep stage of it is important, and only at that time, we are recharged. So you will sleep better if you go to bed earlier, as you will be having NREM and REM stages changing each other.
Thats why it's so hard to get out of bed when you need to get up earlier but you can stay up late and wake up the same time you always do. Sometimes even if you want to go back to sleep you can't.
I never shared this with anyone since I don’t have any friends but all of a sudden I came across this video and felt like letting it out.. Anyway I’m a guy who used to be in normal shape but things quickly changed.. during my board exams I would have my dinner around 10 pm then I would sit at 11 pm in the night for studying I would do this till 9 am in the morning since I’m not studious at all I never studied throughout the year I kept postponing which ultimately lead to all the burden on my head.. I would study only during exams so I literally used to chug every chapter and for some reason it stayed in my memory for 1 day next day I would produce that on the answer paper..so I would directly go for my exam without sleeping for even a minute My papers were scheduled from 11am to 2pm so after my exam i would sleep in the afternoon after returning say like 3pm to 8pm.. then again cycle continued... but I never experienced any health problems but slowly i started getting sick Now my situation has worsened so much that I don’t sleep during night time even when I try I cannot..... I’m just awake.. also now I’m obese and 24/7 I feel acidity nausea I’m overweight but i only eat 2 meals one during evening because that’s when I wake up like say 4 pm in the afternoon I’m up so at 6 pm I eat something like a sandwich and then I eat dinner at 3 in the morning yes 3am!!because I don’t feel like eating anything during this 6 to morning 3 gap weird I know.. and now I’m suffering I cannot change this habit my system has really adapted this what to do..? I’m awake from 3 am to 11 am then I feel like going sleep if I have something planned for next day I’ll go to sleep at 12 in the night I try sleeping sometimes it works sometimes doesn’t then I wake up at 8 am but still instead of feeling better I feel heart burning headache these things have been troubling me since years now I’m insomniac or what I don’t know.. coz sometimes i feel like sleeping but the minute I go to bed it disappears
I have definitely noticed the boost in creativity during dreams; I took a musical composition class in university and struggled to come up with musical ideas, but sometimes when dreaming my mind generates new music out of thin air! I wish I could remember it to write it down...
I am an older adult. I go to bed between 9-10 pm. I ruminate ....and do hourly bathroom visits until 1am. I then usually sleep from 1 am until 8 am....with a 5 am bathroom visit. At 8 am, I have a terrible time getting awake....all I want to do is sleep more. Old age is challenging.
where is the subsequent episode? what would be those people having very less REM cycle? let say some people sleep 4 hours during the lights and sleep 4 hours in the afternoon, what is the impact? For some Autistic people or people with Ezema, they have the problem of falling asleep, or being waked up due to itchy or handmove, what its the impact for the cycle?
I've always had lots of dreams what seems to be all night. A few years ago I had a sleep study done and the tech guy or whatever he would be called asked me the morning after my first night there if I had what felt like a normal night's rest to which I said yes, why? He said I only entered one stage of rem I stead of 3. I wish I had asked him what that meant because I've been looking for answers ever since.
When I hit the pillow, I’m asleep within 5 minutes. I sleep like I’m in a coma, I don’t hear anything, not even alarms, I have multiple alarms and I still don’t hear them on full volume. Nothing wakes me, except me. I never remember my dreams at all.
well , i have a question about sllep , ex i sleep at 01:00 am and wake up at 11;00 (during the summer) although that i slept 10 hours but when i wake up i feel so tired and want to sleep again ? why ?
Idk the science of it but that happens to me when I sleep longer than what my body needs. Maybe you only need 7 or 8 hours of sleep to feel rested and are sleeping too long.
