A walk through WESTON Super MARE - England - Town Centre 

I often visited Weston during the 60s and 70s, whilst staying with my grandparents who lived in Wiltshire. Many fond memories. Visited once during the late 80s with my children, although a good day, was very aware of the changes. My last visit was 7 years ago. Was so sad to see the results of many challenging times. I also live in a "seaside place ", near Worthing, so aware of the many challenges, but very aware of how "sad and defeatist " Weston was feeling. Really hoping that a better future is soon to be had for a place filled with so many good memories

I lived here from the late 80s till '96 and had a great time as a teenager. Great skate scene and had some good mates. Still worth a trip down the seafront in the summer.

I remeber when there were two cinemas in Weston the Gaumant and the Odeon both now closed - the Odeon had a fantastic theatre organ which was played during the intervals there used to be two theatres and the rozel open bandstand with Vernon Adcock Putting greens now are car parks The Hotel where my Wife and I spent our honeymoon is now offices Grove park is packed with needles and canister of gas used by druggies the whole of Weston has become a very sad place. We had great holidays in the 1960`s - 1990`s - 27 years holidays altogether now its not worth a day trip Coffins fish & chips shop the best in the west country now gone what a shame
