Two trips combined into one video - the first visit to Windermere was cut somewhat short by a torrential downpour that soaked us to the skin, so we went home, dried ourselves off and tried again...
This is one of several videos recorded during a week-long visit to Cumbria in September 2023.
The walk on the first day began at Harrowslack - we walked about 3 miles north alongside Windermere - nearly as far as Wray Castle whereupon it began raining - the rain quickly became a downpour and continued like that for the entire 3 mile walk back to the car; we had wet weather gear but were still soaked to the skin and boots sloshing full of water by the time we got back.
On the second day, we drove and parked at Bowness, took the boat to Ambleside and walked around about there for the middle of the day, returning to Bowness late in the afternoon - we did intend to walk from Bowness up to Windermere town, but by that time we were pretty tired and footsore so we headed home.
