Day 5 of my week down in Charleston with Sea Kayak Carolina. I was delighted to be a part of Waveology's open-water class.
We played with boat control in confused waters, reading safe passages amongst surf, ferrying angles with tidal currents, and a bit of surfing. Of course there were plenty of swims and lots of fun all around.

looked like great fun...I remember once I started to get in the surf zone...I could not get enough, and flat water seems dull now...lol dont be afraid to lean right over into the brace when a wave has you, you will be amazed how far over you can get without tipping!

Man, you're right on all fronts. We don't get a lot of chop near us here, so I was not used to it. The next day we had a surfing class and that was the start of me pushing those edges into the waves. There was one that I was parallel to the break and though "I'm def going to die on this one" but I leaned so far into it that it just pushed me down a bit and then let me go. I absolutely loved it and can't wait to do it again!

lol...great! it gets in yer blood...way more exciting than just touring...however a mix of both is the way to go...your general kayak skills will improve so much in the surf zone...yesterday I had to paddle over rock with a nice chop to my back...I just surfed through it...8^)

Great video! I see you have a hydration bladder attached to your pfd. It would be nice if you could make a video review/overview of that, the pfd and whatever gear you have attached to it, flashlight, knife, etc. Thanks!

Thanks, that's a great idea. Will do for sure. It is indeed a hydration pack by kokatat, and it can be attached to any other PFD out there.

nope, well... just one, but we never coincide because he doesn't live here anymore, he only comes once in a while. And many friends of mine are interested on sea kayaking when they see my photos and videos, but no one wants to buy one because ---> $$$$$$ , maybe if we had a kayak store nearby, things would be different.
