Follow me on a weeks adventure of Landscape Photography. Three unique days with different conditions where we see sunshine, fog and snow. Photographs and helpful, friendly advice are abound in this rather long vlog.
First location is an autumnal scene with pretty reflections, local to me. The second features rushing water and beautiful colours on a foggy day. Last but not least a snowy scene from one of my favourite locations.
At the end of the video I talk about an exciting shoot with my film camera with the awesome Lake land photographer that is James Bell

Pauly G, Congrats on your new "goes anywhere" ride! The wider water shot has a fetching "faery" quality, I think, 'cause of the foggy perspectives you've provided. I believe the choice of monochrome (ish) worked-a-treat for the snow scenes. That-You, Mike p.s. -- never eat the yellow snow...

Loved it Paul, really great vlog. We had our first snow visible on the mountains here in Southern Spain today. But we are not allowed out of our towns at the moment. ☹️ I cannot believe all the places I never got to visit when I lived in the UK, I used to get out on my bike a lot when I was a member of Oldham Century but wasn’t into photog then. Those waterfalls were stunning, shame you didn’t have the light, and the second tree shot B&W was great. Thanks for the video, look forward to partido dos.

Yet another great video. The images are awesome! I also like the way you edit them, they are really unique. How about a video on your editing workflow? Also, can't wait for a video on film photography. Thank you Paul, and keep the videos coming.

I always like seeing what you come up with for wide angle shots. I struggle to effectively use wide angle lenses. I find it more difficult to come up with a composition that fills the frame with interest but not a distraction or a giant area of nothingness. As a result, I always find myself gravitating toward tighter compositions. I was reminded of this when you mentioned how low to the ground wide angle shots was often your "go to" composition. I always find I am ending up just the opposite although I really do love a well composed wide angle image.

Thanks for the comment David. My go to with intimate landscapes has been 50mm (FF) but if shooting wide angle or ultra wide I feel that a strong foreground element works well for me personally. Getting low down particularly if there isn't a strong back ground (like in the Peaks) can help to balance the image.

Another video, what a treat! As an aside, I wonder if you know a podiatrist called Chris Davies from Huddersfield?

Hi Oswald. Yes I do, Chris was a Lecturer at Uni and he is one of the nicest people I have had the pleasure to meet. An absolute legend in my eyes.

@@PaulGJohnsonphotography Yes I know them both. Mark married a podiatry student called Debbie Turner, I think they moved to Australia. I remember Paul when he was a student in Behavioural Sciences and later when he worked in technical support, he's still there afaik. Don't want to creep you out, I'm not a stalker honest!, but I bought my campervan from the same place as you. Small world at times init :-)

Debbie and Mark are some of our best friends, they spent their last xmas with us in the UK before going to OZ. My wife and I were in the same year as Debbie x. They are both doing very well. Paul and Abbie, his wife are also friends of ours as their daughter went to the same playgroup as our daughter. You made a good choice purchasing your camper van from there. Great guys.

On the 70-200 with the FTZ adapter mount the lens using the tripod foot rather than the camera, that will solve the problem with the FTZ catching on the tripod head.

Thanks David. It ticks the boxes. EVF in low light is a life saver for me with older eyes. However I can't feel it disconnects me a bit from the experience. Nothing beats looking through an optical viewfinder. Hence me buying the 645. However the weight and particularly size is useful and I can now focus in low light. :)
