Hello Daisy! Just wanted to say I instantly fell in love with you and your content lol when I ran across your TikTok! As an EMT myself & future nurse, you are truly an inspiration to all women! Im excited for all your future videos! As I love this type of content! Thank you for sharing a little piece of your life as a surgery resident! 💗💗💗💗
Hey Daisy! First, such an inspiration to see a Latina do all these things and I take this as a source of motivation that I can pursue a medical career as long as the work is put in. I’ve been following your social media journey for a while now and I know you have a little girl. Watching your daily life as a surgeon resident while being a student, how do you have the time to juggle your professional career while being a mother? Sorry if it’s a personal question, but I’m curious. You’re a super woman ✨🤩 Also, if it’s not too much to ask, could you talk about the loans/financial aspect of the career? I’m sure a lot of viewers wanting to pursue this career would benefit from some personal insight!!
Thank you so much for your kind words! I really appreciate you following my journey and I'm so glad you feel motivated. I 100% believe you can do it as long as you put in the work!
Love this video!! Could you make some videos about time management and how you’ve balanced things in your life? Also, your journey with motherhood would be helpful. Not trying to be too invasive but just how pregnancy worked in med school academically speaking. Idk when to have kids now that I’m in school lol. And how you spend time/raise your baby now. Love your content!!!!
Absolutely! Those are great points - I've been crazy busy lately but as soon as time permits I will try to make videos addressing this topics! I want to provide as much info as I can to everyone following!
Loved it! *Side-note* When you put in the notes of what things you did off camera maybe slow it down because it went so fast I had to rewind and pause to read it. Just a suggestion

Thanks Daisy for sharing a piece of the life of a surgery resident. I always say you are my hero. I say that because of the obstacles you have overcome to become a first generation surgeon. It is awesome to see people who do not let stereotypes or the good old boys network stand in the way of what they want. I appreciate you and all you have went through and are going through to become what you want to be, it is truly inspiring and you truly are a Hero!!!
Thank you so much! I so appreciate this! & yes - surgery is definitely a good old boys club but that's slowly changing and I think that's a good thing! It gives people like me the opportunity to pursue this career which I love!
Hi, I am looking Into going I to surgery and you are such an inspiration! I was wondering how long is a typical work day and do you always have weekends off?
Thank you! It honestly depends - sometimes 12 hours and some shifts up to 28 hours! I get some weekends off depending on the rotation! I will try to make a video explaining all of this soon!
Hi- it would be pretty cool if you added a note briefly explaining what each procedure that you’re talking about actually is. I know that’s super tedious but could be helpful to those of us beginning our medical education journey ❤️.
Getting ready to apply for general surgery residency and have been contemplating basically my entire life for the past couple months, but this video is giving me motivation today🩵
I just started watching the video and I love it already! Just wanted to ask real quick before i forget, where did you get the mug that states “I’ll be over here saving lives”??
