I live in Atlanta area. To be honest. This city is nothing special. You cannot compare it to New York or a European or Asian city. For a southern city, it’s kind of ok
Love to see Atlanta from an outside perspective. Great highlight of our best places like Ponce and World of Coke but also some things are comically incorrect such as “Atlanta is known for its sports” because Atlanta sports fans are far and few between and not very enthusiastic. Once went to a Falcons Seahawks game and there were more Seahawks fans there than Falcons fans. In fact it feels weird even saying Falcons Fans cuz it so rare. This is because very few people are actually from Atlanta but rather everyone moves here so they keep their home town sports allegiance. Also we DEFINITELY don’t say “hotlanta” lmao Childish Gambino said it in a song once and it was super cringe and shows he’s from Kennesaw, not Atlanta. I do wish y’all also went to the MLK Museum because that is a very unique place to Atlanta and a great history lesson. Probably mostly covered by the Civil rights center but MLK museum is just so classic ATL.
See, this is why we love when you locals watch our videos! It's always cool to get your take. Martin's comment towards Atlanta sports was slightly biased towards Atlanta United. Those fans are extremely passionate, which is impressive to him considering soccer in the USA doesn't have as strong of a presence in other states. And don't worry, we know you locals hate the phrase Hotlanta 🤣 It's just so fun to say. Thanks for the tip about the MLK museum for next time.
That is untrue about the Falcons, If you said this about the Hawks around the mid 2000s I would agree with you, but Falcons NFL, and Braves MLB are very supported in Atlanta. And Atlanta united is also very supported. the south in general is football country, i think right now because Falcons haven't been a good team fans aren't as showy as when they were. And braves have been one of the premier MLB teams for over 4 decades. in fact Braves generally has one of the largest sports market in the Country. The hawks historically haven't been that popular but the Trae Young era has draw back interest in the Hawks. While it's true Atlanta is largely a transplant city, those transplants who came decades ago had kids many became Atlanta sports fans.
Good job guys. Love your intro!! The food court is so international! Martin must have been in heaven at all the sports things. College football is huge!
Thank you for visiting ATL! I love yall perspective. I am an Atlantan and I was seem ATL as boring to me. However, yall perspective was refreshing. Next time yall come to ATL, please visit the Atlanta Botanical Garden. It is a beautiful place and right next to the piedmont, Secondly, visit Colony Square or the beltline. They have great places to eat that I think yall would love. Also, explore Centennal Park and Westside park. Just some suggestion for yall next visit.
I’m going to Atlanta in September to see the Quaker state 400 at the motor speedway!! Can’t wait to go!! Always wanted to visit Atlanta!! Might have to hit up the aquarium as well since it’s the biggest in the world 😅😊
At Mercedes Benz you can go to the team store for ATL United and Falcons that lets you get a good free look at the inside. Just something for next time or others.
I am a resident of Georgia and I live 25 miles from the city center and I attest that the video says TRUTH FOR TOURISTS, but it is not the truth of the city... I drove for uber and lift 189,000 miles with almost 7 thousand orders , including pandemic time... THIS CITY IS EXTREMELY VIOLENT (Pray that your GPS doesn't send you out of the tourist corridor) or R I P. Lord knows I speak the truth and try to protect lives.
You don’t speak the truth and you live outside the city center so stop it! 😂 I lived in Atlanta, does the city have some dangerous areas? Yes (most major cities in America unfortunately does). But is the city in its entirety extremely violent? Nope. You gotta look for trouble to get into some trouble in Atlanta generally speaking. It’s very avoidable.
Yes, Atlanta traffic is terrible and crime is terrible, my brother works in the city he has talked about how they have consolidated crimes to hide the crime rate. Just go to Nashville, Memphis or Chattanooga, TN. You'll find more of the same crime issues. I wonder why?
No it isn’t. I supposed you were visiting the ghetto. Each city has areas that are run down and crime ridden, and I suppose that’s where you were temporarily residing. I’ve lived here for over 20 years and will tell visitors where not to lodge if you’re a ‘newbie’ or visitors.
