My husband and I have had a lot of issues with this since becoming parents. As adults, we realize that friendships take either a lot of effort or a lot of grace. My friends are very graceful and understanding that my role as mom comes before my role as friend and it has made my friendships so much more rewarding, seeing them is sooooo special and my friends understand that. What a great reminder of how special adult friendships are and I (along with so many other people here) very much appreciate this vlog and how real you are about your friendships and presence. I totally get what you mean about having friends who understand and get what you do. I am in a very niche industry myself (as an opera singer) and it's also often isolating as we travel a lot and keep weird hours and do our jobs in front of thousands of people (and live in each other's pockets when we are on shows). Not many people can even begin to understand what it's like so those friendships are SUPER special and appreciated x

Honestly, im a bit older than you (37) with a daughter and most of my close friends also have children and it’s soo difficult to find time to get together. Sooo thank you for bringing us along❤❤❤
your chat at the end was so wholesome! While I am not on youtube, as I age I definitely find my friendships are deeper and require less constant contact. I think your identity really solidifies as you age and you are your most true version of yourself. And so who you attract is drawn to that and shares those same traits/values/characteristics, and THAT is what connects you constantly to those people - shared life orientation and being cut from the same cloth :)

I feel the same way about friendship in late 20's and I'm assuming later in my 30's (which I can't wait for tbh), even though I'm not in the content creator space I still feel like as you age it seems harder and harder to meet people who actually jive with you - can relate to you for whatever part of your life, career/life experience/otherwise, and those that share your values. Those few gem of friends I've found recently (and some I've had for over a decade) I really, really cherish. Indeed Suzie's vlog captured this feeling as well. Makes us happy to see you happy and content in your friendships

It’s funny that you mention having a connection to the UK and wanting to live here. I got the same feeling 10 years ago while studying abroad in Spain and I visited London for the first time. I’ve now been here 9 years and it just makes me happy and feels like where I’m meant to be!

LOL! I still remember visiting Louisville, KY and staying in a motel where the couple next to us alternated between fighting and….making up. We could hear EVERYTHING! We still jokingly say, “Oh baby, oh baby!” to each other when we need a laugh. 😂
Aw this was such a wholesome vlog to watch! absolutely love seeing you thrive and blossom in these friendships. They made me feel so content too and after watching them immediately texted my gal pals too. Also with the UK / Scotland feels; totally relatable! I always feel SO at home there too, I have Scottish roots and my boyfriend always jokes that I'm always walking on the left side of the road bc of it, so perhaps it is true!

Omg, k, funny story about getting embarrassing things on hotel beds in London…Got a bag of Ben’s Cookies, enjoyed them in bed, got chocolate on the duvet cover and it FULLY LOOKED LIKE POO. Mortified, I left a note next to the spot that said “Chocolate, not poo” and returned later that day to an answer note that said “It’s ok, is clean now.” I took a pic and chuckle to myself every time I see it in my photo roll. 😅

Lan, such I fun video. I’m with you on the Lululemon train. No gym pants I’ve tried and I have many, Nike, gymsharks, sweaty Beaty etc, none comes close to Lulu. The way they held me together for my first Spartan race, I’ve never looked back. I so enjoyed this vlog and I love watching you three together. I have two separate sets of very good friends and a bestie who are all hundreds of miles from each other and in different countries to boot. I know what you mean about becoming friends as adults with similar interests or working situations. Whenever I get together with these gals it’s like we’ve never been apart, we pick up right where we left off. It is such a bummer that I haven’t seen them since around 2018 (hard when you’re in the US, one is in Canada and another in Japan). Anyway I enjoyed this vlog. Susie and Victoria are so beautiful and of course I love the accents!😂

Allana, I'm a new subscriber and just wanted to say how much I enjoy your personality, how fun it is to watch your vlogs. I hope that you might get the chance to move there someday - I never took those brave leaps when I was younger, and then my husband and children came, rooting me to Chicago for the last few decades. With their roots embedding themselves into this place, I'm not sure that moving is an option anymore. I do secretly wish I took that leap when I was younger, but on the flipside of that, perhaps I wouldn't have then grown my beautiful family as I did, had I left. That's me trying to make lemonade out of lemons ... but I do hope that you get the chance to live there, if that opportunity presents itself. Thanks for sharing your interesting experiences with us!
