@@comfortablynumb9342 Because every guys builds their own. Its part of the trade. Shows that you know what youre doing. Pretty obvious that someone who can bend bar can make a tool to their preference, just as a carpenter does with spacing tools and jigs.

@@glenncoody Any welder worth his salt who can make a pickle fork will obviously go to a glass blower to have the appropriately sized jar made. And then to a metal fabricator to make the lid and a submarine door manufacturer for the rubber seal.
He made a Bendix. I once made a lathe out of an old record player motor and used that to make small chess pieces for a small chess board I made in middle school. A bendix is indeed used all around the world. Among its uses are pipe-bending and for tying fencing to posts and many other things.
It's a Great Idea for Small Rebar because Every size Has to Rolled on a Bigger Roller or the Rebar is Crystallized!!! Worked as a Rodbuster in 15 States over 27 Years building Nuclear, Coal & Hydro with Dywidag Rebar coming from East Germany in 1979!!!

5 of my brothers are ticketed welders, tool and die makers and C and C operators, making tools, gigs, dies etc, it is second nature for welders to do this naturally.
Можно это сделать всё гораздо проще! Берëшь пруток сантиметров 40 и две гайки. Одну варишь в торец, а другую с другого конца в нахлëст. И вуаля, ключ для загиба хомутов готов. Это тоже достойный вариант, но много заморочи в изготовлении😊
@@hardball_man первую гайку варите в торец прутка, чтобы отверстие гайки смотрело перпендикулярно прутка. Вторую гайку варите с другого конца но уже на тело прутка, так чтобы отверстие гайки смотрело вдоль прутка. И получается ключ для загиба хомутов с разных концов под разные задачи
I’d change the design a little bit. Eliminate the u-shape piece replacing it with a straight piece across then weld another straight piece across at the top of the bend in the u-shape then weld the long hand on the backside that eliminates cutting the tac weld pieces at the top. In doing it this way eliminates all this second operation work and you don’t have to waste time lining up the piece of rebar you want to bend on either side , just slap it in and bend your done.
Wait. He's only using the rebar on the sides to make the bends. It limits what size rebat he can actually bend. Just weld a piece of rebar to connect those two pieces. Then you have something you can use more sizes.

In Asien z.B.(das wird auch auf Telefunken-Flachbildschirme mit Androidsystem die RU-vid in Fernseh-Großformat präsentieren)werden alt-verlassene Garten-Spezial-Traktoren gesucht die dann durch junge Leute wie neu restauriert werden.Solche Restaurationen bekommen nach einer 100%igen Reinigung einen neuen Farbanstrich und sehen dann richtig schick und neu aus,als wenn die Geräte,Traktotren oder Motoren eben erst frisch im Laden gekauft wurden😊.Hinterher nach der gesamten Restauration mit kompletten Zusammenbau funktionieren diese moderniserten Gegenstände im RU-vid-Kanal dann mehr als 100%ig und sind dann sofort mehr als gebrauchsfertig für die weitere Zukunft zu verwenden.Das ist echt supertoll wenn man die Leute in Asien auf dem RU-vid-Kanal zuschaut,wie sie aus verschrotteten Motoren z.B. wieder in ganz neuen Farbglanz erstrahlen lassen möchten😊..Einfach schön😊.

@@flashgett9178 Приветствую!!! Такой способ можно реализовать, если, к примеру, сделать подходящих размеров матрицу и потом уже из готовых рамок/хомутов собирать каркас!!! В случае сбора каркаса, как это делается в ролике, через несколько хомутов ширина и высота самого каркаса начнёт уменьшаться...

@joeschmoe3815 did I say damage your eyes? No, I said blinded by it. I've been around a lot of welding and if you aren't getting blinded by the light from the video, you are lucky, but I know damn well, others I've shown this too have agreed that was too damn bright. Have fun kid.
Yeah, just in case you didn't know, fabricating something that has been around and in use for decades, is not an invention. That said, looks like he did a fine job of building it, and I'm all for building stuff yourself instead of buying one ready made, if you have the time and tools and materials to build it cheaper and/or better than a store bought one.
Rebar is so versatile. We would temper the ends and make heavy duty center punches out of them in the plants when I was Ironworking. No we didn’t temper the whole thing. I know there would be one person say if you did it would shatter. Gotcha. 😜
