@@thealternatecorner I'm glad you watched the trial all the way through and as a Brit I totally get that you couldn't get your head around Kyle arming himself. Years ago when I lived in USA I had someone explain it all to me.

@@toodlypip77 I am as well now. It's hard to express sometimes to Americans how weird it is for us without insulting them as well so that's why I try and be open with my thoughts. I respect their rights but it's also complete alien to us as you say!

As an Australian you may be aware we are extremely restricted in gun ownership. But Kyle being armed does not surprise or bother me. He is American they have their own ways of doing things. So l had no problem getting my head around it. I have fired a gun under strict supervision twice in my life. Gotta say your BBC coverage was appalling. Having watched the trial you would be aware that he was asked to help. And he decided he could help by using his first aid skills learnt as an EMT Cadet as a police explorer and as a lifeguard. The gun was for self-protection and a deterrent. The business did not have the proper insurance to replace their property. That is civil unrest insurance. The business owners asked Nick Smith who was a long-term friend and ex-employee to protect their property. He told the owners that he was going to get help. Kyle and Dominic were two of those asked. He did not lie. Seriously. He was not asked! Should he lose his right to defend himself because you thought he lied?

The main point from me is that he shouldn't have been there in the first place. No good comes from him being there, he isn't protected by the law for being there. I could understand if it was his own business but it wasn't so he is placing himself in a no win situation and should have been at home instead. You have your opinion and thanks for expressing it but we are both entitled to have a differing view and although my opinion isn't popular to you it seems, it is just that, my opinion.

@@thealternatecorner No good came from him being there? The incident was the catalyst for stopping the rioting in Kenosha. Even the estate of the serial child molester (Joseph Rosenbaum) is suing the city because the police did not stop their kid diddling son from rioting and pushing flaming dumpsters at gas (petrol) stations. There was a city wide curfew so everyone involved should have been home. The child rapist was the only one who was home (the streets) because his girlfriend had kicked him out of her apartment and the hospital released him from the psych ward. He was a psychotic ex-con living on the street chasing unwilling minors in the dark and he can no longer do so. That is also good unless you like molesting children and are saddened that Rosenbaum could not join The Super Adventure Club (as seen on South Park) and travel the world molesting children of all types.

@@thealternatecorner You did not answer my question. Should he lose his right to defend himself because you think he lied? None of them should have been there. There was a lot that happened and did not happen, that should have happened before Kyle was asked to help. Mostly FOR EXAMPLE the police doing their job or being allowed to do their job properly without interference from politicians. They had the offer of the national guard that was turned down by the governor! Police told to protect public property not private property. So singling him out is a low thing to do. Opinion is one thing and yes, we all have them. But why target just him when he is a result of the lack of action from those in authority? Adults using politics to big note themselves. He was asked to help. Did businesses ask the rioters to torch their livelihoods? He did NOTHING to give those lunatics a reason to target him. Not one thing.

I've heard that point made so many times in 2020. "Why was he even there! He shouldn't have been there!" To me it's such a bad argument. So the rioters have a right to be there but not someone who is against the rioting or who was helping people with first aid or who was hired to protect businesses? So ridiculously illogical of an argument. You have to get past that because the fact of the matter was that there was a whole city of rioters there destroying the city, and the cops were not doing anything to stop it and so the businesses were looking for protection. So get over the fact that there were rioters there and a handful of people like Kyle. Now look at the fact that he was getting chased because some life long criminal was chasing him because he put out a fire that they set in a dumpster. They were trying to use the dumpster to set buildings on fire. He used an extinguisher to put it out and then the criminal started chasing him with a weapon. He did not fire and ran until the criminal caught him. At that point, what fucking choice did he have? This is such a ridiculous discussion if you ask me.

Thanks for the comment Jonny. Totally fine for you to have the opinion. I disagree but it would be a boring world if we all agreed. Kyle et al had no protection from the law, they were there unlawfully as well so it's pointless for them to be there imo. They had everything to lose and nothing to gain and that's proven through Kyle having to go on trial. Whether Kyle is asked to be there or not, the answer is always no. If he's the owner then I can understand but not otherwise as he has nothing to gain. He put himself in a no win situation and look how it turned out. The police suck and the rioters suck but no reason for Kyle or anyone else to try and be heroes, again, imo.

@@thealternatecorner ok thats fine but then get past that to the actual incident. How was he there unlawfully. And even if you are there unlawfully (which he wasnt) you don't have the right to defend yourself if attacked?
@JonnyAbs-0
@JonnyAbs-0 6 месяцев назад
@@thealternatecorner also most business people are not trained with firearms. Personally I am not. Had I been in a similar situation as Kyle with a gun and being chased, I likely would have died. However, he was good with a gun and so he was able to defend himself from 3 attackers. One actually pulled a gun on him and he blew off the guys bicep as close range. It was a super clutch shot because had he missed, he would have been killed. You and I would have probably been killed.
