Btw, I think the lemon dessert could've been perfect if it were a little tangy 😋 The Le Meurice hazelnut caramel was fantastic, but the Ritz little swirly cake I had in the room decidedly took the cake - pun intended haha! I'm with you, that restaurant came highly recommended as I was looking for a non-touristy/authentic french food, my kind of place too!! You've sure got great taste! 🍰🍗🍲🍮🍷💋

@@Gordon_2000 Pear tart is my favorite... there's this great grocery store in town that carries the most succulent pear tart made with brown sugar and I go there all the time to get it. Been inside Cafe Fauchon very briefly when I was at the hotel Fauchon which is adjacent to it. You're right about not having anything exactly like the Champs de Mars neighborhood here in the States, though you can find similar smorgasbord downtown in Half Moon Bay, or Santa Cruz. Yes I was very lucky, the snow scene in the garden was purely magnificent! Haha maybe you'll get to see it next time too!!!

I've been inside the cafe only very briefly when I went to take a look at the Fauchon hotel which is adjacent to it. Have you tried their chocolate? I like the dark ones, also adore their signature color fuschia. Glad you enjoyed so many things in the video!

Very true! That explains the kind of hush you experience having your meals at these establishments. But it can be stifling you know, because how else can one have the spontaneous fun made only possible by a more casual/endearing vibe where restaurant management would break into a dance all of a sudden just because he felt like it, or you as well as management/other patrons got to laugh out loud because we're that happy? See "Paris George V Suite - Best Il Flottante etc.", "Paris Pre-pandemic. All in Good Time. etc.", for example. I also don't mind the noise made by clashing utensils/glasses/plates mixed in with people talking excitingly about something...as long as it's not too much and I'm not right next to them haha!

You love? so glad! 😊 I almost always go with people - but can be alone when I want... especially when filming. Got a few tips for you IMO. Here goes: 1. Fuel: say no to popular/poor quality restaurants near tourist attractions (esp. Cafe de Flores, Les Deux Magots) So worth taking chances with less-known places. 2. Romance: walk along the Seine river at sunset, on the Alexandre III bridge/along the adjacent park. Or take the evening cruise, and sit on the top deck for optimal view! 3. Shopping: Galeries Lafayette, absolutely! and Champs Elysees. 4. The Louvre Museum should be last on the list, unless it's your thing

I see your point, although calling them the fakest is pretty rough...but kind of cute! The first one at Bulgari was definitely traditional, in appearance as well as in taste. The second croque monsieur at Cheval Blanc caught me by surprise initially - because you're right, it hardly looked like a croque monsieur, nor tasted like one as you'd guess - except it was exceedingly delicious, turned out, and I loved it! Their chef definitely deserved my compliment for being disruptively inventive. Btw, I'm sure if you come in and ask for a classic CM they'd comply.
