Yeah, it sucks, honestly. The whole point was watching him suffer in cold ass temperatures and slow cooking a lasagna after a 10 hour hike. This happy times crap with the gf and doggo is not interesting whatsoever.
@@tampadan7128 There was a summit and some cooking with a bit spent in town, even if that town was larger than usual. There are tons of videos on the channel like that and Louie matches the vibe perfectly, hardly feels like it's changed at all to me.
@@tampadan7128 Maybe it is a bit different from the old days but they complement each other really well. By the looks of it Louie already got him into climbing and doing bigger hikes as pair is imo. easier and safer than alone. I am hoping they eventually take up ski mountaineering or do a big bikepacking tour like in the old days.
Forest don't get me wrong, I like your channel and where you hike. How often did I pass those areas throughout my life traveling from Socal to Mammoth on the 395 and wonder about those peaks and backcountry areas viewed looking out my window on the way? Hundreds of times, and always yearned to visit them, which I now do through you. But I felt I have to chime in here regarding the safety of your dog in this video. Again, don't take me wrong. A third party evaluation of safety procedures is a regular and essential part of all institutional professional operational jobs, which I have been involved with my entire life. A few times the dog can be seen to scramble accross a section of precipitous ridge with you or Lou holding on to its retracting leash as a safety measure. But really, is that retracting leash the right safety tool for the job? Let's look at the equation of force created by an object falling a certain height, E=mgh, where E equals energy or force, m is mass of object, g is gravitational acceleration (9.81 meters per secon squared), and h is height the object falls. Do you thing the little retractable leash apparatus can hold together upon the impact force generated on it when it fully extended if your dog fell off the ridge? Rope the dog up properly next time, please, and check if you have the proper harness for it with the same calculation in mind. I enjoy where you go, what you do, and your humble genuine attitude presenting it...and I love dogs and people's relationships with them. Be safe, John.
Yes I was getting queasy just watching and I’ve seen a lot of these videos but that vertigo just set in with those vertical drop offs! And to do this with a Rocco too. Wow
But it's their choice. It shouldn't include the dog. To me, she is being used as a 'prop' for more hits, and with a lifestyle becoming increasingly risky. If he truly cares about Rocko he should rehome her and continue doing whatever he wants.
What the heck!!! FF I'm only 3:27 in and my heart is in my mouth. This is really hard to watch. 😱 And the passing Rocko bit!!!! Jeeez. I hope this Ridge line is over quick sharp.
I so agree with you- I felt anxious. I’m just glad he has a beautiful climbing partner. When FF doesn’t post I look on her channel and I see he’s ok ♥️♥️ Absolutely love their collaboration
Unbelievable climb with a dog. I was pretty nervous up there with you, (not a chance). I wonder how you gage the stability of the rock. At times it seemed like most of your weight was supported but a a pretty small but of real estate. How do you know if that will hold you?
I can't get over how wild Rocko's life is. To her it's just perfectly normal to scale huge rocky peaks that no dog has probably ever been to before. I hope she knows how good she has it.
@@tarstarkusz I love my dog more than anything and wouldn't do the same, however she's his responsibility and he trusts her and himself. Of course you can have an opinion, but my opinion is that you should concern yourself with your own life, not someone else's. I really didn't mean that to he rude, but it feels like it should be said
Wow !!! I was so scared when you all were climbing along that ridge !!! But what a reward to make it to the summit !!! Fun to see you enjoying a bit of Las Vegas. Agree, I wouldn't want to stay there very long. Short and sweet !!!
Bringing a dog along on that climb looks insane to me, but I guess she can handle it. Carrying her on that ridge, one fumble and it's bye-bye Rocko. I wonder what she would say about it if she could talk?
We had a JRT, Josie, and she would go where no human dared. She would’ve been running along that ridge like nobody’s business. Where we went, our Josie would be running ahead, leading the way. And Rocko had a lead and harness so she was safe.
I'm increasingly nervous for those narrow climbs you are doing. 😬 I don't know if it's age and I have become much more aware of risks. I'm 42 now and nothing has really stopped me athletically before, but 1½ year ago a fell on an electric skateboard, fractured my shoulder and I will probably never regain full movement... sometimes silly things comes with pretty dramatic consequences. Just be safe out there! It's great seeing you have so much fun!
Man, that teeter totter of a climb threw me for a new one! Yall had me holding on to my couch to not fall! Great episode! Also Rocko is a litte rockstar climbing that thing!
Omg, you are seriously scaring the crap outta me! I am way too old for that kind of hike and the narrow top ridges? No way! I have a good friend in Vegas, but we stay On the Ground, lol😊
bumped into foresty forest and got a selfie with him in the bishop von's grocery store recently - i immediately bragged to my daughter who has watched his video's with me since the pandemic. his and other van life videos are in part what inspired us to move from LA to bishop a couple years ago 😀
I tried to arrange a meet up with Foresty Forest last February when he was in Bishop during the big blizzard that you had up there last winter. Unfortunately, it did not work out. But I still have it on my bucket list to meet him some time. (At the moment, I do not own a car - so that makes things more complicated and difficult). He seems like such a sweet guy. 🥰 But I agree with you, Bishop and that whole eastern Sierra Nevada area seems like a great place to live! (Been through there many, many times.)
Another excellent video! My heart was in my mouth watching you three traverse the top of that mountain; you guys are fearless! It's interesting that Rocko has absolutely no fear of height; she walks right to the edge to look down! Love you guys!!!
Cool video, that ridge scramble was fantastic. Just a thought though, I would not trust the clasp on Rocko’s leash and I would not trust holding the handle in my hand. I climbed with a dog for years and when he got tied in, it was always with the same precautions we took.
Yeah, I was thinking the same. If you're gonna use the leash as a safety line you better beef up the attachment(s) to Rocko's harness and get a lanyard tethering the handle of the leash to your arm!!
Feels remiss not to add that this is the first video I did not like or enjoy...hours later it leaves a very bad feeling, like as a viewer I am culpable in a behaviour that risks the life of an animal...I've been on a back country trip where someone did not come back. Wouldn't wish it on anyone. Please be more responsible with your dog. :(
The mountain climb had me on the edge of my chair!! I had to smile when Foresty said: "Rocko I know how sneaky you are and I don't trust you" and she gives him a look that said "Who ME!!" I'm also enjoying the meet ups with Loui. It is ALWAYS good to have someone to share an adventure.
Little kids found a dog half dead in the snow in Chicago and brought him to my door he was about 6 months old.We became best friends for 15 years.Frosty rocks
Hey Foresty, really enjoy your adventures but I'm really worried about you taking such risks since these rocks can give way easily due to wear n tear from the inside. Not worth it man, go for less risky terrains since we all want your safety. Really wanna see more of you in future.
You two plus and your dog are extremely brave in climbing that rock cliff. Maple syrup makes everything better. Thanks for sharing and have a grand day.
Sweet baby jesus Foresty. My balance is shot just watching this. I always take comfort while watching these crazy videos of yours, that you made it back down because the video came out.
Yeah no need to risk the dog's life like that! I always worry about her. I worry about him too, but he knows what he's getting himself into and his limits.
Wow 😮Forrest’s, the climb up the mountain was a white Knuckler! It was an exciting video. Loui climbing the ledge like a mountain goat and you did very well. I’m so glad you have each other. There is safety in numbers. Rocko had no fear!!!
Wanna know what's funnier than your sound effects Foresty? Me as a full grown man singing your intro song and my voice squeaking lol. Probably 90% of your viewers squeaking with me.
That helmet cam sure does induce a vertigo effect crossing that step 🥴If you're still around LV maybe check out the Groom Lake area for some hikes and climbs 👽🛸
gorgeous!! love the braveness of young people.. Loui is fantastic,.. thank you for introducing us to her.. Beautiful area . I am Canadian but lived in Nevada for one year as a teen ( dad in military ) . Totally loved the landscape there ..
