Thank you Julian! I'll have plenty of opportunity to explore further I'm sure. Such a stunning place, I'm not sure if we will have any more snow like this again this year, but then you never know up here! S
Wow Sam.... what a gorgeous location (and no I'm not jealous at all that you have that type of scenery just at the back of your new house)! How exciting for you and Hannah, I hope you've both settled in to your new home in the Highlands. In between all the DIY I hope you manage to get out into that stunning mountain air and just relax and soak it all in because it will be so calming for your mind and soul! Getting back to your photos ... I loved them all as usual and can't decide about the boulder in the last couple of images... I'd frame them both and hang them on my wall so I'm no help to you in choosing! My favourite scenes are snow covered mountains so I just loved this vlog! Enjoy your new home Sam... can't wait to explore it with you as you discover new locations over the coming weeks and months. 😊
Hehe, thank you Angie! I can't decide between them either, so I included both! It was nice to get out and enjoy some snow, spring seems to be coming now so I don't know if we will have much more snow here again this year (although you never know!). We're both getting out and enjoying it when we can, definitely doing our best to make the most of it! S.
Thank you very much! Yes, I can't quite get over it myself to be honest, feeling very lucky! I'm looking forward to getting out with the tent as well to explore it a bit more! S.
Hi Sam, A wise move not to walk to the Loch and try to get back in the dark. I prefer the image without the rock on the right. Look forward to your next adventure. All the best mate.
Thanks Tim, yes I had a head torch with me, but just didn't trust myself to be able to find the path in the snow. I'm hoping to go on a winter skills course at some point (probably not until next year now though) but until then I won't be taking any risks in the mountains at this time of year! S.
Glad to hear the move went well and settling down in your new home. That's an amazing location and great images....very fortunate to be near such stunning natural beauty....and look forward to video when you camp there....
Nice work Sam and congrats of the move. With scenery like that I'm not jealous at all...no, not for a minute. I particularly like the image at 09:25 Looking forward to see more from your new home.
Thank you very much Julian! Yes, I am feeling a bit spoiled tbh, it's pretty special up here! I'm hoping these hills are going to whip me back into shape soon though, I'm feeling a bit 'soft' ! :) S.
Now I really am jealous Sam. To have that scenery right on your doorstep it must be difficult to keep at the DIY when all you want to do is go out exploring. Looking forward to seeing more.
It's such a great place to explore from where you now live (not at all jealous - much!). As well as the photography, it's going to be so good for your well-being and the physical benefits of hiking in the mountains.
Great Vlog - enjoyed that & glad to see you settling down in your new location... image wise think I preferred the wider angle landscape with the boulder included. looking forward to more vlogs as you explore your new location...👍
What a gorgeous location and a fabulous hike. Cracking set of images and I preferred the image without that boulder methinks. That river and forest looks like it will be getting more attention too at some point. So is that literally out the back of your house.? ...sorta wow !! Look forward to your adventures Sam. atb Al
Thank you very much Alan! Yes, this is a walk straight from the house, it’s an amazing location! The next glen along looks amazing too. Alex Nail has done a lot of work around here, but otherwise I haven’t seen a lot of images from the area so I’m really excited about the potential for this place! S
Welcome to your new home in the Highlands guys! What a wonderful part of the world to start a new life! Looking forward to watching your progress. Now that you live in the Highlands though, you'll need to get used to referring to 'valleys' as 'glen' since there's no valleys in Scotland! ;) ;)
Thank you very much Andy! Yes, I was corrected for that on Twitter, hence the apology in the video! I actually grew up in Sutherland and lived there till I was 14, so you would have thought I’d have known better!😆 I’ve obviously spent way too long in England, but very glad to be back up here now! 🙂 S
Nice boots Sam 🙂! How unusual to have a clear river near you?.........most are peat-stained in the highlands. Some good decisions made there; keep that up, you're not in Oxfordshire now - where you're never more than 20 minutes away from a Waitrose! 🙂
Thank you Ian! 😂 The boots are looking pretty swanky aren't they 😄. I was hoping to attend a winter mountain training course this year but I think it will need to wait until next year now, I'll be taking it cautiously until then (and hopefully building up my fitness levels in the interim!). We are missing Waitrose I must admit. If you come up to visit we might need to send you a 'Waitrose survival ration request list' 😆. That really is a gorgeous little river by the way, the camera didn't pick it up but it was crystal clear! S.
@@oneeyedphotographer She's doing fine thank you! We were sorry she couldn't be in this first video after the move, but going forward we are hoping to change the format slightly so that it isn't just 'The Sam Show'!
@@oneeyedphotographer Unfortunately not, I did drop him a message before Covid, and again earlier this year. He has started to post more videos since January, mainly focussed on his running, so I believe he is doing ok. It was a shame we didn't manage to meet up whilst we were there, but Covid prevented a lot of things sadly!
