You went with the 55 and not the 63. I’m surprised and impressed! I really expected you to get the 63. The 55 is the right choice for this car. You want this car to lean more to comfort than to stiff high performance suspension. Congratulations!

Very nice car! As an owner of an older model SL55 I still prefer the hard top. I do however love all of the new updated tech in the car and it’s sounds absolutely amazing. Congratulations!

This must be your first SL, I'm certain. Massaging seats have been an SL standard this entire century. I wish you drove a R230 or R231 to compare the roof refinement against. Black on brown is definitely the spec the R232 want's to be.

First of all, big congratiolations to your new SL 55. Looks awesome. I work at a AMG performance center in Sweden and from just using the new SL 63 for a couple of days in normal heat - I noticed that I really burnt my finger off every time I tried to pull up / down the roof while driving in the sun or when I came out to the car after a cup of coffee... The keyfob really doesnt work all the time so after living with the car for a while - would you not appreciate a fysical button to open / close the roof? I really cant understand why they removed it. Also I expereienced a lots of squeeky sounds from the dashbord etc like the car was not properly put together, but this is something they should be able to sort out tho.. How about yours? Any baby sicknesses? Do you think the power of the 55 is more than enough? Hope you will enjoy your new SL and that it will stay in your collection for a while. Love the combination. Very subtile.
Was really hoping that it was going to be a silver SL… looks great however! Personally I’d get it in grandpa spec in something like dark blue with caramel interior.
I made sacrifices to buy a 2020 BMW 3 series G31 330i and suddenly I lost all interest because my car will have nowhere near the technology that you have in this... I never knew that some of these goodies are even available in a car... Very good presentation, you got yourself a new subscriber.

BEAUTIFUL!! If it were my car I would drop it a hair and flush the wheels out a bit as the only thing I'm not a fan of is how sunken in they are to the fenders, especially the front. If they were more flush it would make it look even more aggressive. Regardless, its beautiful so congrats!

SL55 Issues You mention you’ve had a few issues with your SL55. Can I ask for an update? My SL55 is back at the dealership with numerous issues, sunroof, windows, boot and the battery drain. Thanks, Col
Well done being able to be able to buy this Mercedes and one can assume you are a total Mercedes fanatic. However I would say the Lexus LC500 V8 is much better looking, more exclusive than a Mercdes SL and I suspect more reliable and cheaper to maintain.
Beautiful car! But my only complaint is the convertible area in the back. It doesn't scream a luxury finish with the fabric shown. On my clk55 convertible it has an elegance of a boat design to it which seems very appropriate to drop tops. But other than that it's a beautiful car.
Congratulations my guy, I just found a convertible I've been trying to find for 8 years now and I finally found it in pristine showroom condition 1 owner older gentlemen always had it covered in a garage, an infiniti g37 convertible hardtop Bloomingdale's edition the rare one that infiniti only made 200 of, red leather interior, real red woodgrain trim, real aluminum buttons, platinum graphite paint on 19inch stock chrome wheels, the car is unbelievable but I'm still trying to get use to people staring and asking what car it is,anyways enjoy my guy good stuff 👍

Gotta say, this is probably my fav of your recent cars of the last several years! Though I'm a BMW man, love that tech and MBUX set-up stuff. I love the 2+2 set-up and very cool that it's back. Yes the crest looks great there! DO IT! :D While we are on the SL-love-fest - my auntie/uncle finally decided to sell their 1976 SL 450 (maroon-red)...they once sold it prematurely, but got it back but now it's for good. Great memories sitting in the back as a little kid (yes barely any foot room but we were small), but I got to drive it once, and oh man, gorgeous machine. Looking forward to the full living-with review!
Why do mercedes do that to the spec ? Why are some options never available in the U.K ? Its not a right hand drive thing, as Ireland normally has a way better options list.
