No he isn't. This Liberal party has benefitted Canadians with 30 different programs. 83% of FN boil water advisories finally being ended to dental care for the kids of a bunch of the babies commenting here to a multitude of people being able to retrofit our homes so that they are warmer and more efficient, we have benefitted. And that's aside from the checks most households and small businesses received during the unprecedented covid global lockdown! Everything that is good about Canada, came out of a Liberal party at one point or another. CPP, 40 hr. work week, 2 weeks holiday, minimum wage, universal health care, child care, free dental care for low income kids and now seniors, interest free student loans---ALL from the Liberal party, past and present. And the Conservatives voted NO on all of those! Or in the instance of FN boil water advisories, they did NOTHING and in fact got sued in court for doing nothing by 2 or 3 native bands. The Cons promise NOTHING, but you know they will begin cutting program after program if they get in power.
And Conservatives become known for their whining, useless accusations and inability to see the big picture that the world faces. Ignorance seems to be ruling these days.
Then you aren't listening and are letting a career politician who never held a real job in his life except for being a paper boy in Calgary, whose goal is to attain the Big Office, think for you. A career politician who is willing to spin every story and talk out of both sides of his mouth. He voted NO 9 times out of 12 on affordable housing bills, all the while telling Canadians that he cares about housing being unaffordable. He voted NO on BASIC dental care for low income children (under $100,000! Is that you? and your kids?) and NO on school lunches even as HIS OWN KIDS GET THE BEST FREE DENTAL CARE and are well fed every day. That is who you follow. Conservatives pretend to care about the people but their voting record says otherwise.@@coolassname
Anyone else here not because they want to hear what the crime minister has to say, but instead to read the comments from my fellow Canadians. Love you all. ❤
I hope people in here also recognize that just because they get to elect a new politician into power in about 2 years, they, too, will be corrupted, inept and disappointing in their 'efforts' to solve the mounting problems we face in a dysfunctional monetary-market economy that NO Canadian politician I've ever seen (or almost any politician anywhere) has the guts or knowledge to call out. I hope people here aren't thinking politicians of a different party or colour is somehow a solution. Real change starts when working class people in communities come together in cooperation, collaboration and co-ownership to bring about abundance and prosperity that the capitalist model simply is incapable of creating for all. Capitalism creates inequality and there are no top-down solutions to that. However, using strategies proposed by those like Peter Joseph with Zeitgeist: Moving Forward, or the team at Moneyless Socieyt or Michael Tellinger with One Small Town Contributionism, those are community-based, voluntary and free cooperative networks of ideas where people can choose to help each other out, because we cant wait on politicians.
@@kevincarsales Do you love seeing the painfully obvious situation where any group of citizens would be tired of a Prime Minister for 8 years OR do you love seeing that people are also done with trusting and supporting any politician or party? Screw PP and the Cons, the NDP, Bloc, all them who aren't brave or wise enough to call out the root problem. They don't know the answers, they are more distractions than anything. People should stop putting their hopes and dreams and even most of their blame on politicians: They aren't even the main driver of increased cost of living and decrease in quality of life. Capitalism is the driver on crippling inequality and violence. That's been clear to many thinkers, journalists, scientists, researchers and humanitarian workers for years like Richard Wolff, Abby Martin, Lee Camp, Peter Joseph, Michael Tellinger and so many more. If Canadians aren't comfortable with the clear fact that monetary-market capitalism is socially, ecologically and economically unsustainable, then they have some learning to do.

The former Conservative leader of Manitoba, Brian Pallister, has a vacation home in Costa Rica that he would regularly go to. This is by no means a Liberal exclusive political observation that these political elites often 'escape' the country they supposedly love so much to far away lands. Maybe, Pallister, much like Trudeau should stay in those foreign lands if they like it so much, hmm? Well, I don't expect politicians to have solutions. They are there to pretend to service problems, not solve them outright. Their job would be obsolete if people have Universal access to basic goods and services. Which, of course, we could do with our technology and resources, but we need that to be a process of system change, too, not just some policy change. For a better understanding of this, people can look to the principles of Ubuntu Contributionism brought forth by scientist and researcher, Michael Tellinger.

Except for his security and the cost of using Canada's jet to get there, his holiday costs were his own or his friend. If he went fishing in Northern Ontario, the security would still be there. You are describing the natural gravitation of the monetary-market system itself, not just in Canada, but in the world! That is our problem, the system is the sickness and it breeds inequality. USA has much the same problem with the top 1% owning most of the wealthy and self-dealing to their own growing, massive multinational corporations. You'd be hard pressed to find any country without such problems. Perhaps the 'best countries' in terms of lower income inequality and high standard of living with social supports for all (or most) is some of these Nordic European countries like Finland, Sweden, Denmark and Iceland. Well, those are countries that rank pretty high on happiness indexes largely due to strong social supports in areas of healthcare, education, childcare and work/life balance, but they are not without their problems, too. They are facing immigration pressures, energy efficiency and sustainability, ecological stability and mental health issues as well. Let's stop looking much at politicians to solve problems - expect that they will likely be disappointing - and turn to our neighbours, our community members and do it voluntarily, in unity and cooperation. I didn't buy any Christmas presents for my children this year because I have to pay market rent, pay bills, and buy food in Toronto. It's not doable. If or when Pierre cuts the carbon tax, caps rent in a real way ( not allowing a yearly increase at all unless the apartment is upgraded, not just fixing things). If all these things happen, will the grocery stores actually bring the costs back down to pre-covid costs? It's unlikely they will do it without being forced to do it.
But you'll be paying full daycare and dental costs for those kids and will see the decline of health care and other services. What should worry you more is thinking you have to wait 2 years to do anything about it. That's one of the problems with the political process, it isn't very democratic where it matters. We don't vote on direct policy, almost ever, and we don't have very much Democracy at Work (the channel with Richard Wolff that speaks to these issues). Then we just 'have to wait' years for the next chance to vote for an out-of-touch rich elite to pretend to serve our interests? That's bogus and not a solution. At best, we might get slight improvements but we likely need a bold grassroots movement for system change to swell first, before the higher ups are going to notice or care. That's where I suggest, rather than waiting 2 years, get involved in your community for 2 years using cooperative strategies that can help, step by step. Anything like the solutions that have been proposed by Peter Joseph in his works and like his talk "A Viable Society" on TZMOfficialChannel would be good, as well as the ready-to-go community-based strategy of One Small Town Contributionism with Michael Tellinger.
I don't approve of Trudeau, but people are in for a big surprise when they finally realize that Poilievre is a Tory and will not help the working class. Drug, dental, and daycare will be gone; the working class will be denied retirement until age 67 or later (a Tory policy that was being implemented when Harper was voted out - the rich don't need CPP to retire); inflation will have been stemmed before the election but nothing Poilievre does will make food prices actually go down. Only boycotting food will do that. A minority government of any sort is our best bet.
