For more reddish color you can try adding hibiscus or beetroot powder in your henna mix

Try mixing the pro henna with a can of coconut milk. You still get the color release, and it’s easier to wash out. I love CP’s henna!

I have been using henna for about 2 years now and it has made my fine 3c, 4a hair much stronger and the color is very unique. I get asked all the time about my haircolor.

hi ashkin 🤗 great video. your hair is so thick, voluminous and healthy-fabulous. my grays are silvery white...and they are coming in everywhere. i normally use cassia for the benefits of henna without the color change. im gonna try henna and indigo to make a darker and less red color. tfs

What I used to do to get henna out of my head, is fill a bucket (hear me out LOL) full of warm water, and dip my head down in it, swish my head around all while getting a hand up there and massaging the scalp. This loosens most of it. All you have to do then is shower and get a good conditioner!

I can totally see how the bucket would work awesome, that submersion loosening up everything, especially on the scalp where that stuff can get really caked on there, sounds like a great solution. I used henna for a couple of year about 5 years ago. And I also had the best experience with just warm water. Adding oils, coconut milk, aloe juice, and even some conditioners just made it feel more coated and harder to rinse out. I did experiment with different combinations, like adding fenugreek, aloe, amla and hibiscus to varying degrees of success. But never liked any of the liquid alternatives. Congrats on a year!

Hi Lindsey! So glad you shared your experience - I've seen so many things about different recipes and wondered if I'd get better results and should give them a go, but so far same here, nothing has beat that simple water + powder mix. I *may* try someone's suggestion below about adding hibiscus or beetroot powder for a lil boost in the reddish tone, but right now, loving the simple recipe, especially as a someone not great at diys. I have been using CP henna and alovera mask. I love what it does to my hair. It turned my gray hair into gold brow colour which I love. It also makes my hair looking healthier. It has loosen my curls. I have also tried CP amla. I can feel my hair has more straight and my curls are more defined. Now whenever I use henna mainly for the colour I mix it with amla to tighten my curls and straights.

Hair looks amazing, Ash! Gotta say though, I just went pinkish purple and the henna indigo blend WOULD. NOT. LIFT. despite two rounds of bleach! I will have to darken the non henna indigo treated parts to match the purple in the treated parts. I got so bored seeing myself with black hair in photos, and I've basically accepted that I'll never be Rapunzel so am not as obsessed as hair growth as a means to achieve extreme length. Decided to have some fun with my hair before I die lol!

Heyyy IIeana! Thanks so much🌞 Girl I've heard that this stuff and indigo just do not budge, the processes to remove them that I've seen that worked for people are A LOT. I heard that "have some fun with my hair before I die" hard, I used to be super scared to really do anything new with my hair, to the point that I'd get beyond bored with it, so I really love that you're having fun! A tip for getting the residue out of your hair is to use conditioner while rinsing the herb out. I have tried the Curly Proverbs Amla.and Bhringraj powder which is amazing to me. I tried Henna for colour I did get the colouring of.my grey hair. I want to try and get black colour next time so I will use indigo after my henna.

Hi Teslyn! I use conditioner while rinsing and it works great for the Pro Strength, but the Henna and Aloe Masque is much harder to rinse even with condish - someone mentioned in the comments that powdered aloe has the same effect in her hair, so I can't wait to use that one up. Oh nice, I think I may pick those two up too when it's time to restock my henna. Hopefully she comes out with her own indigo soon, I know the quality would be amazing! Excited to hear how you like using indigo for the black color : ) Thanks for watching!

I think using heat during your henna treatment, or every other treatment would be really good! Then a deep conditioning treatment days after

Hi Fran! I usually sleep in the henna and on good weather days take a walk with it under a shower cap too, so when I'm ready to rinse it out it's pretty warm under there. I use a nice, slippy conditioner after to remoisturize/help try to release the henna and it usually works pretty well, feels so much softer than when I'd skip this step. Totally understand, that was something I was concerned about before trying it - I heard Amla can help when added to henna to help prevent the loosening - but after using the Curly Proverbz henna for a year now, I went back to videos from the past few months and I think this henna may have actually tightened by straggly-er curls back to where they were before my mechanical damage. Never put lemon juice because lemon juice or try out the hair apple cider vinegar is good so equity, some more red color

I've seen lemon juice recommended a lot with henna over the years, but it dries out my hair for sure so I haven't been rushing to try it. Love the idea of more red color so apple cider vinegar is high on my list of things to maybe add to my henna.

Try putting apple cider vinegar and to your Henna that will bring more of the rentals to cover the grease. That’s what I’ve been doing.

Acv is not a good idea for dry textured hair. Remember it will be sitting on your head for hours.
