When I was a boy of 10 or 11, my ambition was to be, not a pirate, a pilot. I was taken by the heroism shown in the WWII films and the skill displayed by our fighters. Of course, the films did not place much emphasis on the large numbers of flyers we lost against the Japanese and German flyers and from the intense flak that took down so many of our bombers. I was not aware that their targets were civilian centers such as Hamburg, Dresden and Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Now, all that is history and excuse making. What I learn now, as an adult, is how bored I would be as a commercial airline pilot or even as a private pilot, going through the numerous check-lists and performing the routines of flight preparation and flight engagement. Indeed, when it is boring, that is when the danger of overlooking something is greatest. No, I'll yield the glamour of a captain's uniform gladly, now that I have become aware of the stresses of long hours in the cockpit, sleeping in little compartments, and dealing with commercial airlines that are have their minds on the bottom line.

Depends on the situation. If you’ve got a lot to concentrate on it’s better have the autopilot fly the plane whilst you both concentrate on monitoring the terrain and cleaning the aircraft up

Not quite sure what the Captain was doing reading the bleeding newspaper as he should have clear awareness and presence at all times. Nice Breitling chronometer that the co-pilot was wearing but don’t bite your nails, it looks terrible! Apart from that, it was an interesting flight. 😎👍

You can read the newspaper because it has short articles, which doesn't affect your awareness too much. The problem comes if you are watching movies or shows because you are distracted for periods of time.

to be fair if fs2004 is tweaked properly it can look pretty cool however fsx is much better the add ons you can get are amazing the aerosoft version of this particular aircraft is fantastic having said that lots of people have moved to p3d now the graphics are much nicer but it costs a lot of dough
