I have flown in the A 380 from Glasgow to Dubai. It was the smoothest flight ever. This Lufthansa landing was indeed so smooth. The A 380 indeed has the smoothest take off and landings.Ofcourse eventually weather is an important factor.
Thank you for getting all of this of LA... 10+ minutes uninterrupted recording that's pretty cool... It's crazy as LA is, it is a wonder how big that city is. And you can't even hear the wheels touching down! Amazing! Thx.
Los Angeles has the Pacific Ocean, big mountains and the Mojave Desert nearby. And don't forget Hollywood. It's still one of the great places to vacation.
Very nice video, and great views of the LA Basin. We used to go down there fairly often by plane as a kid. Of course, we were going to Disneyland most of the time. But it's a beautiful city, LA or at least it was then. Now...all you hear about is skid row/homeless, gangs, drugs, etc. But that is everywhere, even here in the Bay Area. Duh?!
5:45 wingtip over the Alameda Street corridor. At this point the aircraft altitude was around 2200 feet as it began to fly over Watts. Had it been below 500 ft you probably could've claimed some airstreet cred...😅..jusskiddin.. but you most likely flew directly over my parents home which is a quarter mile past this point. 6:35 ‐ the 110 Harbor Freeway, although the harbor is several miles on the other side of the plane. Those little buildings to the left just as the freeway seems to bank and dissappear is where the USC, Colisuem, and California Science Center are located. 7:52 ‐ Inglewood Park Cemetery. I'd say it's always better to be 600 ft over it rather than 6 ft under..lol. 8:34 ..the lower bridge over the [405] freeway that the space shuttle Endeavour was towed over by a Toyota truck (for a tv commercial) when enroute to its final journey at the California Science Center which is next to USC off the 110 freeway.
Were the Flight Information Display Monitors flashing "In Range" or "On Approach" as your plane was approaching LAX? And "In Customs" when you arrived at the gate?
As many times as I have flown -----------and hated it every time-----------I still find it amazing how they land these metal tube monsters ! -------------------------------MJL, 74 y/o
Off right wing Ladera Hights and Culver City I 10, I 405 junction. Not seen more westward Marina Del Ray. Santa Monica freeway/ San Diego freeway. Visible near touch down In -N- Out Burger stand and small picnic tables park.
I grew up in LA and never really noticed the lack of greenery until recently. I don't live there anymore, but when I visit, it's more obvious to me now. But on the plus side, there is a lot of great nature just outside of LA. A few summers ago I rented a cabin up in the mountains and was surrounded by nothing but pine trees and stars, I might as well have been a 1,000 miles away.
LA is very beautiful from above but when you are in the ground, i dont know if the opposite ! Anyway i will always love this city and hopefully it will overcome its social problems like street gangs, drugs, homless, etc.
Gangs were much more a problem in the 80s and 90s. They still exists but it's nothing like it used to be. Yes, the homeless problem is huge though, but this isn't just California. I'm in Tennessee and there are homeless and beggers all over the place here too.
