Awesome. Just bought the exact same clutch for my '15 A5. Stage 2 daily which I'll be running the stage 2 Integrated Engineering tune on. Any advice on what to expect price wise for installation with new IE downpipe as well?
Only thing I know is that Vaico uses 6 springs on the clutch plates, Luk and Sachs have four? Luk must be normally used, looking at parts codes. No idea if it's better than Sachs, prices are almost equal.
Do they interchange/ either one bolts up to the other? Do both flywheels align/bolt to the crank? Either/ both pressure plates align/bolt to Either flywheel? Disc alignment tool fits both discs ? I appreciate the side-by-side comparison, but.. from a more technical standpoint.. can one clutch interchange with the other, using either/or flywheel interchangeably?
@@tstricklin4808 : I will give u phone number. It’s near the airport in Toronto. They only work on German cars. They swapped out my 2.0 on the A5 last summer
@@danrook5757 thanks but not looking to tow the car from Ohio to Toronto, just fishing to see if nap (the traveling mechanic ) would bring one he personally built n install it ,usually I do all my own work but this jem is impossible to find quality parts for ,nap seams to have a dependable supply, not to mention how proficient he is with them ,usually I don't let anybody work on my cars but I'd trust naps skills/ work ethic ,short of paying him to do the work I'm just going to part the car out which is a shame ,it's in amazing shape with all the bells n whistles, COME ON NAP ,THROW ME A ESTIMATE ✌️
Dude, just for science, can you confirm if the pressure plates and clutches are interchangeable? I saw a pressure plate for sale but would like to mate it to a oem flywheel to keep the sedan clutch quiet. ty
I am from South Bend and I would NEVER buy another clutch from them. I have multiple bad experiences with clutches from them. Including a time they gave me an Exedy stock clutch that they painted and marked up 100$.
@@NaptownTunerGot me interested now...seems they supply what ever was OE when the car was new. Email response from Schaffler below: Many thanks for your enquiry. As you maybe aware, car makers do not make all of the components on a vehicle nowadays. Instead, a car is typically assembled using different components sourced from different parts manufacturers. It is true that LuK are Original Equipment (OE) suppliers for most if not all volume manufacturers. However each manufacturer may source from a variety of suppliers. In this case it is probable that Sachs ZF are the OE supplier and we will then purchase this component and sell it under our "banner". Likewise other clutch suppliers (Sachs included) will sell our parts under their own "banners". Best regards Schaeffler Automotive Aftermarket (UK) Ltd Schaeffler Group
South bend clutches suck, bad experience, just bought a stage 2 daily clutch for almost 2 grand, guess where whats at..Mechanic, he sayd the clutch is gone, and I just bought it, I have a stage 2 IE tune by the way, so it should of had hold.
