Despite being a lot less challenging geologically given the local accesses this part of the road already have it's a lot more interesting to see what will they do to it. Would there be a GSJ on the intersection with A470 ?

@@hopethehermit Yeah the plans from Welsh Assembly Gov't shows a GSJ on the A470 jct as a stackabout/dogbone kinda thing (searching A465 Heads of the Valleys on a search engine will bring the page)

Perhaps the A465 needs dualling and upgrading because it’s a major arterial route in Wales and has lots of traffic using it going from A to B. I like how the government is spending money on upgrading congested roads in the UK. And to keep the traffic flowing with having to constantly slowing down. Apart from when approaching a roundabout or a cross section with traffic lights especially in town centres.

The main purpose of the upgrade is safety more than anything, capacity and speed is purely a bonus side effect with this one

I agree. The government should also upgrade parts of the A47 road in Norfolk that are single carriageway to be upgraded to dual carriageway. And to build new safer junctions on accident prone spots especially near to East Dereham and Swaffham.
