I love that they have these tutorials. Zacky is extremely good. Syn isn't on a level, he creates levels. But, zacky gives it body. I love these guys. And the fact that Zacky can solo makes it above par for any rock band today.
I now know why I gave up on playing the guitar. This is amazing to watch how much work goes into Metal. I hate when people say "Metal Sucks". Yeah right, you wish, this is amazing to watch them play together and to hear the layers of sounds produced by both people in a finished product. All I can say is wow and thank you, I listen to this song everyday I workout, its the best ever.
It's great to see a band with two guitarists that play so well together. A7X is a blueprint for what a Rock Band should be. Syn Gates is an underrated soloist. The dude picks every note. No legato. Try playing his nightmare solo note for note and you'll see what I mean. R.I.P Rev
Lol you obviously never heard of Helloween that's the band where avenged got all those classic scale harmonies from(besides Maiden), and about 85% of their sound from.
***** I've listened to Helloween, and grew up on Maiden(great melody lines btw). A7X is influenced by a lot of bands. I've heard a lot of Metallica and GnR in their music as well. Good comment Ace.
@@JudasPriest82 I know this is 6 years later but were you really claiming that A7X got the concept of harmonizing in minor or major thirds from Helloween? Because I can’t tell you on how many levels that’s actually absurd. Hopefully after this long you’ve realized how odd of a claim that really is.
I wonder if Gates wore gloves because he started out on a Les Paul and a Schecter C-1, both white gloss necks. Those hobo gloves would make your hand not drag against that sticky neck on stage.
My friend at work turned me on to A7X just recently and being a guitar player I can say , YOU GUYS ARE AMAZING!!! Love all your songs but Bat Country def. the one of the best solo's and content I have heard!!! Amazing sound!!! Has real feeling!! Love you guys!! I wish I knew of the band earlier!!!!
Been an Avenged Sevenfold fan since the early days, and I still think this is the best solo that Brian ever composed out of everything I've listened to. Some solos may be way more technically difficult, but this one is just so melodically and harmonically perfect in my opinion and the use of chromaticism sounds so damn cool!
Zack has Always been Hella Smart. Can Learn Anything Just From Watching or Listening. He Picks it Up Hella Quick, His Cognitive Skills are Mind Blowing. Proud of Him.
if you ever really watch them live SYN uses the exact same guitar the whole show while Zacky changes them over and over again. and maybe that's how it works for you, but it sounds perfectly in sinc if they're in a different octave. also notice those aren't their guitars. they're using them from the studio paying them, probably like an advertisement for other Scheter guitars. They are proffesionals and know what they're doing, they're famous. not you. don't really question their tactics, learn.
-Bad Country "He who makes a beast out of himself, gets rid of the pain of being a man" Caught here in a fiery blaze, won't lose my will to stay I tried to drive all through the night The heat stroke ridden weather, the barren empty sights No oasis here to see, the sand is singing deathless words to me Can't you help me as I'm startin' to burn (all alone) Too many doses and I'm starting to get an attraction My confidence is leaving me on my own (all alone) No one can save me and you know I don't want the attention As I adjust to my new sights the rarely tired lights will take me to new heights My hand is on the trigger I'm ready to ignite Tomorrow might not make it but everything's all right Mental fiction, follow me; show me what it's like to be set free Can't you help me as I'm startin' to burn (all alone) Too many doses and I'm starting to get an attraction My confidence is leaving me on my own (all alone) No one can save me and you know I don't want the attention So sorry you're not here I've been chained too long my vision's so unclear Now take a trip with me but don't be surprised when things aren't what they seem Caught here in a fiery blaze, won't lose my will to stay These eyes won't see the same, after I flip today Sometimes I don't know why we'd rather live than die We look up towards the sky for answers to our lives We may get some solutions but most just pass us by Don't want your absolution cause I can't make it right I'll make a beast out of myself, gets rid of all the pain of being a man Can't you help me as I'm startin' to burn (all alone) Too many doses and I'm starting to get an attraction My confidence is leaving me on my own (all alone) No one can save me and you know I don't want the attention So sorry you're not here I've been sane too long my vision's so unclear Now take a trip with me but don't be surprised when things aren't what they seem I've known it from the start all these good ideas will tear your brain apart Scared but you can follow me I'm too weird to live but much too rare to die
Most influential and revolutionary: Izzy & Slash. More skilled and creative: Zacky & Gates. (Although Slash and Gates are almost equal in raw skill, Izzy isn't quite at Zacky's level.)
its not a wrong note its just that it's harmony note (whcih Zacky plays) isnt as loud so it doesnt sound right...nearly all of their dual guitar stuff is that way but it is layerd so well you dont notice it
i may not be famous, but ive done a number of gigs, recordings, and classes regarding to recording and live performing. in no universe would anyone intentionally go out of tune to let people hear which sound is which guitarist. and most of the time, they are playing the exact same chords and when they harmonize, its usually less than an octave. so i am 100% positive that they tune perfectly, just like any other musician
@SawMovie08 thats the slow part where it goes "so sorry ur not here i've been sane too long my visions so unclear" i think the order of the chords are: Dm, A, C, G?, Dm, A, C...
it's not out of tune, it's a different octave. like literally, 180 mgtz to 130 is the same tuning but it's a different octave. it's like holding your fifth fret of the E string and hearing A, they blend perfectly but you can hear the difference. and it's not hard to go from drop D to E again, i can do it in a mere second or less. and this was back during the Beast and the Harlot albums, he didn't change guitars at all during this tour. Zakky does, but not Syn.
syn would be using a schecter banshee. a throwback retro guitar that was started and discontinued in 2005. guess it never really caught on, wonder why...
I'm so nostalgic for the early 2000s. I remember watching this video back then when I was like 9 years old I was just gushing the entire time watching them play.
