How many guitarists does it take to screw in a lightbulb? 1,001. 1 guitarist to actually do it, and 1,000 other guitarists to stand back and explain why they could simply do it better.
Man, it's entertaining when a band that is known for its solos has a guitarist who can effortlessly nail everything off their records. Really dug this video.
Hes so underrated, he sweeps so well and for people who dont play guitar, sweep picking is EXTREMELY difficult, its very unique honestly. Im trying to learn but syns just one of those few who can do it so fucking good like i cant, hes so underrated, hes definitally in my top favorite guitarists. I WISH i could play like him, or have one of his custom guitars cause my i love his sound😂 if anyone that is reading this that can sweep please give me tipsXD im self taught and dont really know all the pentatonics, or arpeggios but im learning
In his masterclass video's he talks about Economy picking. not sure if that is the thing that you mean cus i dont play guitar, but maybe if you look up 'economy picking' you can get some tips.
Lolcatification economy picking comes after sweeping, it's essentially sweeping but repeating each string. you need to have sweeping motion nailed to economy pick well
VORTEX GAMING ive tried, im not a paitent person and i get frustrated with myself easily haha but every now and then ill just pick it back up for alittle bit to practice
Man, I'm a fan of the band and this is pretty shit honestly. It's just divebombs and some amp effects mixed with some incoherent shredding, which defeats the purpose. He's a great guitar player and has some really unique stuff, but this is nothing. The song bit they played is a jam they played for a while and ended up even turning it into a song for a game, so that's not necessarily an improvised solo either. I've seen way better from him.
Elusive Anomaly I'm very aware of Yngwie, but thanks for the reference. Jason Becker was/is quite awesome too. Too bad what happened to him. Michael Angelo Batio is also insanely good. Marc Diglio from the band XYZ is a great player too...very tasteful chops. I could go on all day.
I figured you knew about Yngwie but you're welcome anyways.I didn't know about Michael Angelo Batio though so thank you much for the return reference.Fascinating.
@@antoniustok1041 you're an idiot if you think Gates is technically better than Mayer. Mayer plays with the Grateful Dead, covers Jimi and SRV, even Clapton says "he doesn't even know how good he is" Mayer can play more than 1 style, plus he sings as well. Saying Gates is better than Mayer is like saying Yngwie is better technically than Steve Vai. No't happening.
That ending, there's no way that wasn't a scrapped song from hail to the king. They should do a cd with all of the scrapped hail to the king songs like they did with diamonds in the rough.
Ueah but where does the criticism come from? Is it that they just hate him as a person, or do they hate that he is better than their ruggid tapping skills?
Synyster Gates is the reason behind me playing guitar... though I suck... He inspires me alot to practice each day ... The way he plays and his skills are off this Univers
It shows that Syn is always working his ass off at learning new techniques, ways to play each and every note and from a musician, that man had super mad skills! I could listen to him play for days on end. Amazing what he can do with the right guitar.
Sounds like a serious teaser near the end, wouldn't be surprised if it was in their next album where they go back to their own style since the last one was pretty much a tribute to their inspirations
That was pretty epic. Last solo/jam I saw was back in January 09 with The Rev. So jealous they didn't do this at Desert Uprising. Thanks for the upload!
honestly I love both slash and syn but I think I'll have to stick with syn because not only are they both my idles but in 2014 I went to my first concert and seen a7x and watching him rip those solos and crap was completely amazing @synester gates
@@nutyeet4016 that's why guns sells out football stadiums?? I doubt you'll ever see Avenged Sevenfold split up, get back together in 23 years and tour world wide. Appetite for Destruction was one of the best selling albums ever
lol, so many haters... this guy is fucking amazing at playing guitar and is even one of the fastest guitarists that have ever lived. (haters gonna hate on this comment)
+Dan D i dont make the lists. plus, just because someone is faster, doesnt mean the person youre analyzing is slow ;) like i said, "haters gonna hate this comment", and it really happened
Ok I thought the syn gates custom guitar with red pin stripes where nice but in gold with golden death bate inlays and golden tuning pegs and golden chrome Seymour Duncan invader SH-8 , that my friend is a work of beauti
They make a variety of them. He has black and silver, black and gold, white and gold, green and purple, black and red, and probably more that I can't think of off the top of my head at the moment.
nobody will ever match the style and raw talent of dimebag. He literally changed the face of an entire genre of music. And its interesting that Korn has more grammys than Pantera
Paul Gilbert, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Frank Zappa, Randy Rhoads....dude, you really should think before talking, love dimebag but hes not the only one and there are way better players out there
is it the bending? the speed? the accuracy? doesnt take a music genius just to know this man is one of best guitarist ever.. prolly not the best but he is in the list.
For those who are saying that the last part with full band sounds like Hail to the King. It is stage selection music from their mobile game that they released a few years ago. You're welcome :)
***** This is the lighting making it yellow, ive seen a picture of a light half shining on it, so there was yellow looking stripes, but half still the white stripes. The custom guitars he has are the usual black with white stripes, black with red, and he has a white with black stripes.
It's black and gold. He still uses his black and white one too. He'll switch between mid show because they're tuned to different keys for different songs.
Draken Knight Almost no one says this nowadays. Actually I know alot of people that like metal eventhough they arent your friendly stereotype metalhead with loads of band merch n stuff.
Simsom Guppington you do know my comment was towards the electric guitar right? not a specific brand or type of music, Blues uses the electric, Rock uses the electric hell even country now uses the electric guitar. The instrument used to convey the song like a story, I was just saying lots of stuck up country clubbers think its noise, tell that to BB King I say
