For BMW (Z4) its listed as "Crash Lever, (left/right)". For Toyota listed it as "bracket sub-assembly, front suspension member, (left/right)". So even Toyota don't know what it's for either

Hey Jackie, at 3271 here are your percentages. Left Bias 50.93% Rear bias 46.01% Wedge 50.26% not bad numbers. Before you start adding downforce with a splitter and rear wing, adjust the car for mechanical grip. I cannot over stress this point. Make the car handle as best you absolutely can without the areo involved. NO splitter/spoiler No rear wing. Adjust the dampers, springs and sway bars and get the car to handle first, then add little bits of aero to fine tune the car. Your straight line speed will increase with less aero, and the car will be faster overall and easier to drive if the mechanical grip is maximized. P.S. From the previous video the harness bar looks to be too high, meaning the left belt is not installed correctly. This is a critical safety issue you should look at. Good luck, have fun and be safe

Uh... Then you might wanna look away for the next video because it involves quite a lot of aero. In an ideal world, where I could do all the testing I wanted to, I would've tested just dampers extensively. But it 100% will not be quicker than the car without aero. Also P.S. the harness bar will be removed altogether by this Friday, replaced by a proper roll bar!

I'd leave that dampener on the rear subframe - 5 lbs will not be noticed in overall weight, but there may be some frequencies that it's absorbing that you don't want propagating through the rear end. I mean it was developed for a reason and I'd rather have a solid/dampened subframe to attach the rest of the rear end to, than save 5 lbs.

Haven't watched the entire video, but that part that is being discussed @ 4:23 is most likely for NVH absorption, a harmonic damper. You see the same concept on the exhausts of modern German vehicles in the form of big rubber bushings. Haven't been under the TA90 or the equivalent, assumption tells me harmonic dampener.

That coilover setup with corner balancing is awesome! You gotta make a video on costs of the build once you are done. Also did you remove the ac compressor and condenser?

No, the AC is actually part of the water to air intercooler so removing that will likely mess with the engine a lot

Hey jackie, would doing JUST the front swaybar upset the balance of a car in a street sense?

I don’t think it would. Just a front sway bar would obviously shift the balance towards a little more understeer but the car could also use a stiffer bar to counter the body roll.

What are the weight distribution ratios after all that reduction mainly only in the back? is it still 51% front 49% back?

@@kickyadick I mean yeah no way it stays the same but even 55/45 is good, and maybe that BIG wing can balance the car and give it a nice high speed cornering. I just can't wait to see some laps in this baby.

It currently sits at about 54/46. The car is placed on the scales for corner balancing at the end of the video and you could see it. With suspension tuning, the actual weight distribution won’t be too big of a problem

I do not, but it’s really very simple. The metal cover comes off, then disconnect endlinks, the two swaybar brackets, then put everything back together!

I think that spacer/arm serves a purpose on other BMW models for NVH, but this could be different. I've seen a weight mounted to the front suspension in a similar manner. Because of the dual purpose, perhaps they removed the weight and left the arm, because it is also a spacing element and easier to reuse an existing part.

Add - Front splitter w/mounts 15-20lbs and rear wing w/mounts 20-25lbs Hmm that 2999 seems far away but for Street class your HP to weight is at a sweet spot right now for that grip level. Too bad you can't run TrofeoR's.

Brother!!! Please tell me how you & the guys got to that upper control arm bolt behind that pointless bracket on the passenger side I'm in the middle of a swap & can't figure it out for the life of me!! There is no space

if you are talking about the rear upper control arm, you have to lower the whole subframe to get that bolt off. Good luck

As a pure and focused race car, I really don’t mind the NVH factor, so this mass damper can be removed and that doesn’t bother me!

Fronts, we are starting off with 12K springs. As the aero development ramps up, we can always go up in springs over the winter after some more testing!

@@JackieDing86 Ouch, well that's that then. Kinda weird though, that the car would be off like that from the factory. Were those numbers bad enough to be dangerous? Those guys and that driver seem legit (lol, they tested it in the next vid) and they say it made a world of difference. They still said it needed suspension though, under braking certain things were happening with weight transfer causing the car to oversteer in certain situations. Watch that video, dunno if you'd learn something, i'm a novice.

That spacer was probably designed to be something but then they designed something better or realized it didn't work but they already made 1000 units and needed the spacer function of the part so they were like, "Screw it, use it until the bin is empty."
