@@jty1999 yaaay MORE vidya more gayms to play more distraction I have 9000 hours on Steam on vidya but I want moooooaaar moooooooooar vidya!!! Thank you mister vidyaman!
It's fun to see all the little Finnish things in this game. The painkillers are "burana 400mg" which I have in my cupboard. The RK-95 was my service rifle in the military. The pea soup is "jalostaja" which is a classic brand.
Always love your game recommendations. Single player tactical shooters have become less and less common, so it's always nice to see a new one on the market
Tacti...TACTI. The dev isn't just talented, he is PASSIONATE about his game. This is PROPER PASSION. He made it on Unity, Unity went to shit, he then remade his game on some random ass game engine, Goddot. Indie devs are cool, we have been given some reason good games, but this dev is a special one, one that we every developer should strive to be
@@Ghostman2122 I also went from Unity to Godot and boy, it is awesome. Just gets shit done. Built for making games. Still missing lot of features, some things are really bad compared to Unity but that's expected from engine built with community and no proper finances. I 'm looking forward to upcoming years because I believe Godot will shred, just like Blender and most people haven't believed in blender few years back.
@@bauch3630 Also Godot is much easier to get into which will hopefully encourage more people to learn game development. To get more attention it just needs a few 'bigger' games to get it going like Road to Vostok.
the best part is the guy made a demo so we can play it and give him ideas... im tired of devs doing it all themselves, releasing it and then upset when we want different stuff or something fixed. it will help so much with making it a damn good game! downloading demo rn!
I prefer devs having clear vision and passion for the project. And yes Antti has that but games shouldn't be collaborate effort with players. Sure they can chime in with bugs and tweaks but other than that, let the devs cook. Most of us don't understand development and want different things anyways. You see it constantly with comments "Won't buy if X is first/third person". Of course not saying that devs shouldn't close their ears but don't put too much stock on vocal minority. Often folks are just happy playing without shouting it out on forums.
@@ossihurme7572 I don’t, When call of duty used to listen to their people, that’s when call of duty was very popular. I’m not talking about bugs or anything I’m talking about things we want items we want new updates, etc.. that is all stuff that we want that we can talk about because that’s what we want. We don’t have to know how it works or not.
This is wild man that a single person can develope such a good looking and in depth game with all these gun customisations, mechanics and great looking animations.. Some features are very innovative and never seen before in other games.. He must have put a lot of work in this.. I hope it will become a complete game someday.. I really like it
to be fair the developer for road to vostok is a demon not sure if it is entirely fair to compare any of these big companies to this guy. hes legit the best of the best. also him switching engines entirely in less than 6 months (from what ive heard) is insanity this guy is legit INSANE at development, IMAGINE this guy being a part of a big studio/company. he would singlehandedly make that company millions of dollars
I didn’t even know that switching your entire project from one engine to another was possible without building it completely from the ground up again. Absolutely wild. There is a noticeable decline in graphical fidelity but that isn’t necessarily a problem as it opens itself up to a wider market of gamers with lower end systems. Crazy stuff
its possible, and more so in the early phase of developement. good thing dev decided to switch early. this game might be very well received when its done, there seems to be lot of positive feedback.
Every game should have a demo like this. Granted it's not fully released and the full version will be much more detailed and bigger, but it gives a good idea of how the game will look once released.
the problem with these sorts of tactical shooters is that a lot of them just end up being gun tech demos with no reason to play (story, quests, progression, everything else a game needs)
Played the 1.0 Demo before. I recall being able to change the magnification on the LPVO with the mouse wheel. I also remember the magnification only being on the scope itself and not the whole screen. Don’t know why they changed it
is it just me , i love when games look kinda unfinished (like this) some missing animations, how you aim down sights i just love everything about this game even rn
Curious if the floppy disk will have something to do with the lore naritive currently there is a function to use the consel but no floppy drive found yet.
I’m an absolute slut for good animations. Good reloads and eating animations like Tarkov really show the love put in a game even if it’s a minor thing compared to the whole
As a gamer who has NO time nor the love of PVP games. Just love that so many single player tactical shooter games are coming back in fashion. As the AAA companies seem focused on the over saturated MMO or PVP FPS genre, which is also pretty much dead with all the cheaters, toxicity and again there are just too many of these games.
AAA single player shooter is more than welcome. Stuff like Wolfenstein, Doom, Bioshock and Metro are insanely fun and memorable. They just need to check all the boxes. Road to Vostok on the otherhand is obviously targeted at the niche realistic tactical shooter crowd. And that's entirely different. I personally can already see myself getting bored of it after a few hours simply just how depressing and lonely it looks.
1 minute ago and 2 views? Fell off smh. Seriously tho, large studios aren’t gonna last much longer. Indie developers are much more creative and care about their games.
There is going to be a crash but they're still going to be around because most indie developers are only on PC and most of them are never going to make those type of numbers most indie developers will make 50,000 to 100,000 a year but a lot of people are moving to PC because they're tired of console they are digging themselves a hole right now a few of them will more than likely go out of business or sell out to someone I think Ubisoft will be on the chopping block next for AAA
I'm super hyped about this project, and I'll definitely try out as soon as it comes out. However, I think you showed some first-hand evidence on why these kind of titles can be considered "too risky" for bigger companies. You started the game enjoying the new experience and looking into the details. Before you reached the end, you died, and literally said "I'm not doing it again". I know it's a demo, but you can see how this kind of game can easily discourage some player or simply ruin their "fun" (this obviously doesn't apply to everybody). But I think it's an interesting observation. Nice video!
You were saying something about directional audio isn't good (shooting) at 21:20 but I heard it perfectly. Are you sure your headset wasn't the wrong way? :P
Playing the demo right now and I can’t figure out how to get optics onto weapons, nor can I figure out how to get into other parts of the map. I am enjoying the demo, the graphics are really good, the ai is decent, not nearly as brutal as EFT but pretty good. Looking forward to more Road to Vostok
Aiming is a core part of any fps, yet in 2024, we are still using sliders (without context) for things like sensitivity and fov. Numerical values + multiple decimal places should be the standard. The sens range isnt wide enough, as using lower sens + 1600 dpi isnt properly supported (you shouldnt have to lower dpi). The optics also need seperate values based on their magnification. I could accept if they just defaulted to 0% MDC for each optic, but again, customization is key, and not everyone likes that value.
21:00 I think that may be an issue with your setup or just personal ability to pinpoint audio queue direction. I instantly could tell where that was from.
It's without a doubt a masterpiece if you consider that one guy is behind all of that. It just feels wrong to criticize it in any way. BUT without this background it looks and feels like a game from 2010s missing a lot of modern features. Many people will not be amazed by this in 2024...
Looks pretty cool. I know it’s early on, but it seems like it’s missing something. Maybe it needs more fear factor, causing you to sneak more because you were sprinting around everywhere! And all the gunshots from bad guys sounded the same to me, even though the weapons were different.
I hardly play any games. Look at tons of different gameplay, but rarely a game that I wish to invest in, but I have been really enjoying this demo so far. Liking where the dev is taking this and crazy that it's just one developer. Although I'm sure he must get some help with contracts? Funny, because the other game in development right now that I am also excited about is War of The Worlds, which is also made by one guy. Indie games are the future!
Godot 3D side is still improving on a rapid pace so hopefully next time there is a demo on Godot 4.3 with noticeably more performance. Then on Godot 4.4 with much improved lighting. This game will be epic when it releases.
If you want a more complete game until this fully comes out (looks great btw) I highly recommend STALKER GAMMA it’s not quite like this but hits the same beats for me
Immortals of Aveum is a good game, I bought it last Christmas on Epic for around $30 CAN on sale. I like it a lot. I know it was not a commercial success but I hope it's going to be available for a long time and since it was not a hit there are deep sales on it on Steam and Epic. Let's hope there is a long-tail to this game and it ends up generating some $ at low prices for a while. Road to Vostok looks very interesting and let's not forget that Incursion Red River comes out very soon on April 10.
Idk if i think the game needs a great narrative per say, i think the world building and atmosphere are going to make or break my personal enjoyment of the game. I’ve been playing Stalker anomaly EFP a lot lately and i don’t even bother with the games story. What keeps me coming back is the deeply immersive world and sense of progression as I get better gear to travel deeper and deeper into the games world. Given that this game has a few resemblances to Stalker, I’m really hoping for a similar experience. 🙏🏼
yep...another one touch by the atmosphere of S.T.A.L.K.E.R . series [games, film, book]. So many try to replicate that violent poetry from S. SoC, make that alive ZONE that will eat your time roaming around trying to survive fighting mutants, hunting for artefacts or chilling at a fire to listen some russian jokes and some folk song at some busted acoustic guitar....
@@olegdemianenko3054 exactly. I was opposing to the title of the video. This game looks cheap. AAA czech devs are far superior to those the title refers to
Okay....I first played arcticide....and it was great...now I played road to vostok and I was impressed. Triple AAA studios lack soul. They are interested in money not creating a game that is fun to play. That shows in little things in indie games.
I would love to see the story for this. I don't know why, but more metro based story might be perfect for this game, at least in my opinion. Just a thought.
you play with a rule of changinf weapon every map yet you reload them like you had infinite ammo, that is a lot of wasted ammo since you cant take them back yet
I hope it won't be another forever sandbox gun p*rn shooter like Ground Branch and countless other projects. Judging by how the dev works on it (that he actually seems to care about the lore and tries to develop actual mechanics before multiple weapon models and crazy customization options), I'm really hopeful. Don't get me wrong, I like good gunplay but it can't be a sole focus of the game.
have you played STALKER GAMMA or EFP? (the mod pack, it's free on mod db) I think OperatorDrewski made a video about STALKER GAMMA (and crashed the download server with how many people tried to download it on the same day because of the video) it's a single player game, a take on the STALKER series (the original games are a bit outdated now so i I suggest the Anomaly or GAMMA modpacks) with more elements of survival and tactical shooter gameplay
@@wizz_survival_101 Oh you mean the full installed size! Steam recommends at least 10GB available space, bcs a completely full drive is slower, but the DEMO game files are a total of 3,8GB
Of course it's the developer. It's always the developer's fault. Never management's fault. Unless management accidentally hits gold, in which they get an the credit, and all the bonuses. 200% of these, at least. Oh, and they have to fire the lead developer to cut down on cost. Let's hope this solo developer didn't get bought, lectures by management and finally fired.
minefield is the most dangerous map in my opinion I have died there multiple times while in the other maps almost not at all, while minefield is not the "hardest" / last map
AA studios tend to make smaller games that are geared to smaller niche audiences, AAA studios make games for a wide audience so they water everything down to get the largest audience. ots why COD has lost its identity with live service battle passes and having characters like Nikki Minaj showing up.
You can lower and raise the gun position with scroll. Like IRL, you raise the gun when you need to be more ready for aiming/shooting. Didn't really pay attention if the position affects the speed of transition to ADS, but that would make sense.
Never get another EA game. They basically start with a board of all the micro transactions they want in a game and tell the designers and engineers to build a game that will sell those items. Rinse and repeat
This isn’t pointed at this game, but I keep seeing vids like these and then once the game comes out it’s dead on arrival or has to be completely reworked. I hope none of that applies to this game though.
Tried the new public demo and it feels great, looks great, love those animations, but the combat just isn't there for me at all. I'm sure the dev is working on it as part of future updates, but AI are way too dumb, dead bodies despawn way too fast, and the spawn rate/locations are unnatural and off putting. I also think some more weight to the character would be helpful, and maybe some combat visual effects similar to Tarkov (suppression, etc). Definitely seems more proof of concept than full game right now.
Sorry but this game looks pretty boring. I get that it's only a demo and all but it's not demoing anything we haven't seen already in other games. It's impressive as hell that one person made this but just because it was made by a solo developer doesn't automatically make it a fun game.
